Wow! What a cool taco shop walking in was a vibe! Great art and decor! So much to look at! Large fun menu! I got a shrimp taco, OG taco and flounder pounder- and an ice cold Pacifico! All three tacos were delicious and unique! Can't wait to come back and try more menu items! I like that they serve breakfast until 2! I an typically a chicken and asada guy. Pastor is my favorite but I reserve my pastor for when I am in Mexico. I asked how their carnitas were and he said amazing so I went with the burrito and my buddy opted for the Tri-Tip nachos. Every entree comes with one salsa. My friend got a mild sweet (weird) and I went for the hot habanero. Food came out quick! Burrito was great! Typical meat, beans, rice salsa. The first half fell apart on me but the second half stayed together fairly well. Salsa was a small portion. It had a very mild kick to it. I wouldn't say it was hot for sure. I would recommend getting 2 for the burrito. My buddies nachos were great! Tri-tip was flavored well and not chewy. Tortilla chips were homemade. It needed some salsa/pico etc for the chip/meat/bean to topping ratio to be perfect. His sweet mild salsa was... sweet. Lol. Not a fan of it on nachos and we didn't end up eating it. Oddly enough he had a huge salsa. I think it would be pretty bomb on some shrimp tacos though. Ended up ordering an additional carnitas burrito for my wife and she really enjoyed it as well. Usually stop in on our way to trivia at one of our favorite breweries to grab some grub. Sancho's is always a smart choice. Our food has always been fresh, hot, and full of flavor. I'd recommend the Sancho's Nachos with tri-tip in either chips or fries form. Their in house made sauces are all delicious and there's several to choose from. Fountain and a small selection of alcoholic drinks are nice too. The theming is excellent. Plenty of things to look at and enjoy. Make sure you check out everything as there's hidden jokes on just about every wall. Typically it's pretty clean. The music is usually good. Only problem I've ever had is that sometimes our order isn't exactly correct. It's never been so bad that we didn't eat it. I think it's usually due to a miss understanding during ordering as we tend to customize our dish. The staff is always friendly. Sometimes they don't quite get what you're trying to accomplish when you're customizing an order. Also they seem to have different people in there kinda frequently. Not sure if they just have a large staff or people come and go often. Overall it's still a must if you find yourself wanting some excellent grub without the usual cookie cutter offerings out there. Finally was able to try Sancho's Tacos! Debated on going because their taco tuesday deal is $2.50 each which is on the pricier side. We got 16 flounder tacos, 5 chicken, and 5 pork. The flounder tacos were the best among all three. However, it would be appreciated to double taco the tacos because they were flimsy and kept breaking. The tacos were also very oily. Worst tacos I've ever had in Bakersfield. 42 dollars for 12 tacos that had very dry tortilla you had to pull just to bite into them. My first time here I got some tacos plain and some with everything for myself and my kids. I also order a tri tip frie but was told I only order a regular one and the tri tip fry was 13 dollars after I already paid 42 for tacos I said no thank you. I wanted try the taco sauces it was 5 dollars for 4 sauces they are not free the girl told me I said okay I don't want them. After we came home my husband and I were disappointed we didn't get the fried we ordered. And the tacos were dry so dry you couldn't even bite into them. Fries regular they said they are crinkle online and they are not they are soggy regular fries. Undercooked not one stiff fry in the batch. I'm disappointed in the food quality and won't be returning. And the girl at the front desk was rude I get she has a job to do and charge me for everything but there was no costumer service there she could see I was disappointed she tried to charge me 5 dollar for sauce and didn't ring me the right fries but didn't even apologize. I finally got to this spot. It's located in the back half of what used to be the Silver Fox. It was busy and happening for a Friday lunch. The tacos are fantastic. The shrimp taco was definitely my fave. The salsas were also very flavored and bold. I love spicy and the habanero salsa gave me all I wanted and more. Here is why: We went to this restaurant right after work, I'm not sure how packed it gets late afternoons or during lunch, but the service was quick and kind. We ordered take out, I got the angus tacos without sour cream and my friend got a quesadilla. In my opinion, the tacos were decent, I was thrown off by the sweet taste at first, and realized that it was the salsa that was sweet. Interesting combo for sure. But for my personal preference I like my tacos more on the spicy traditional side of things, but food is all about preference, so I would definitely encourage everyone to try for themselves. As far as my friends opinion, they thought it was a decent quesadilla too. The price was a bit expensive, 4.75 per taco. I was impressed by the decor of the place, super cool ceilings.
