It's gotta be the Chubbie sauce. It's just the right amount of sweet and salty to make you want to keep eating till you pop! My favorite is the Federale (carnitas) tacos. Usually stop in on our way to trivia at one of our favorite breweries to grab some grub. Sancho's is always a smart choice. Our food has always been fresh, hot, and full of flavor. I'd recommend the Sancho's Nachos with tri-tip in either chips or fries form. Their in house made sauces are all delicious and there's several to choose from. Fountain and a small selection of alcoholic drinks are nice too. The theming is excellent. Plenty of things to look at and enjoy. Make sure you check out everything as there's hidden jokes on just about every wall. Typically it's pretty clean. The music is usually good. Only problem I've ever had is that sometimes our order isn't exactly correct. It's never been so bad that we didn't eat it. I think it's usually due to a miss understanding during ordering as we tend to customize our dish. The staff is always friendly. Sometimes they don't quite get what you're trying to accomplish when you're customizing an order. Also they seem to have different people in there kinda frequently. Not sure if they just have a large staff or people come and go often. Overall it's still a must if you find yourself wanting some excellent grub without the usual cookie cutter offerings out there. The flounder tacos were the best among all three. However, it would be appreciated to double taco the tacos because they were flimsy and kept breaking. The tacos were also very oily. Went on a man date with a broskie to watch the new Thor (Amazing BTW). Did a quick search for some nachos and Sanchos popped up. I pride myself in having taste tasted most of the mexican spots in town. Sanchos had slipped through the cracks. How unfortunate! Very easy to get to. Plenty of street parking. They have additional parking behind the restaurant. The inside is small, like small small where a group of people decided to come back later because it was packed after we had settled in. They do have lots of outdoor seating but unless its early morning or evening it would be much too hot. I let Renee know it was my first time there and he explained the small menu to me. I like that they serve breakfast until 2! I an typically a chicken and asada guy. Pastor is my favorite but I reserve my pastor for when I am in Mexico. I asked how their carnitas were and he said amazing so I went with the burrito and my buddy opted for the Tri-Tip nachos. Every entree comes with one salsa. My friend got a mild sweet (weird) and I went for the hot habanero. Food came out quick! Burrito was great! Typical meat, beans, rice salsa. The first half fell apart on me but the second half stayed together fairly well. Salsa was a small portion. It had a very mild kick to it. I wouldn't say it was hot for sure. I would recommend getting 2 for the burrito. My buddies nachos were great! Tri-tip was flavored well and not chewy. Tortilla chips were homemade. It needed some salsa/pico etc for the chip/meat/bean to topping ratio to be perfect. His sweet mild salsa was... sweet. Lol. Not a fan of it on nachos and we didn't end up eating it. Oddly enough he had a huge salsa. I think it would be pretty bomb on some shrimp tacos though. Ended up ordering an additional carnitas burrito for my wife and she really enjoyed it as well. I finally got to this spot. It's located in the back half of what used to be the Silver Fox. It was busy and happening for a Friday lunch. The tacos are fantastic. The shrimp taco was definitely my fave. The salsas were also very flavored and bold. I love spicy and the habanero salsa gave me all I wanted and more. In terms of Mexican authenticity I would say that this isn't it, it's delicious but if you are looking for "real" Mexican I would go somewhere else, if you like Mexican with a twist this would be more of your vibe! I should have listened to my coworker! I ordered a steak quesadilla online. I paid to have onions and cilantro added. I also ordered a small side of chips and salsa. I was not impressed!! They left out all together the onions and cilantro. While the steak had good flavor, the meat was not evenly distributed. The quesadilla was floppy and saucy. There was too much marinade or sauce from the steak inside. The steak was very large/chunky. The chips and salsa together tasted burnt. Maybe overcooked chips? Or old oil if they fry them in house. I did sip on the salsa and there just wasn't much flavor salty more than anything. I called to inquire about the missing items and was told o had to contact grub hub. I got a phone call back and was offered to have it remade today or for another day. Honestly I am not interested in trying it again. I paid $23 for a quesadilla with a side of chips and salsa. Service is friendly and the food feels a bit too hipster for tacos to be authentic, to the point where friends I was with said they were not fans. Which seems completely understandable if you're used to proper street tacos, but for all that, Sancho's is clearly one of the more appealing places for tacos in downtown Bakersfield. read more

It was clean and fast service. Let's move to the food. The tacos are over loaded with yummy goodness. She brought me a fork without asking. First bite was a OMG out of my mouth and this was the flaco taco with artichoke mushroom and Spanish. Is this even the same taco joint? This place was a long time favor of mine, but it has gone so far downhill it's embarrassing. The animated decor is still there, but none of it works anymore and the place seems to have lost all its life and joy. The menu is essentially the same, but the quality of the meats surely isn't what I remember. And the service which used to be fun and lively is now slow and listless. read more
