1 Star Just moved to Bradenton and was excited to check out Bridge Tender Inn--big disappointment. When we arrived, there was no host or greeting. We went inside to ask about seating, and a waitress rushed by without making eye contact and flatly said "sit anywhere" as she disappeared outside. We found a table and sat for 10-15 minutes without a single person acknowledging us, even though a couple of staff were walking past helping other tables. The place was half empty, so being busy wasn't the issue. We finally gave up and walked out--still no one said a word. The staff all seemed miserable and uninterested in being there. Upon arrival I asked the staff member working outside if they were ready for the 28 people.She was very rude and said she did not know of any group coming and could not sit all together...never mentioning the air condition was broken. I have been coming here for 3 years and always enjoyed the Jimmy buffet on the beach margaritaville type environment. People were always happy. Bar tenders were fun. Food was basic beach food but good. This year we pulled in by boat excited to have a good time. The bar was half full. Where were all the people. The bartenders were not having fun. It wasn't busy yet I had to wait for this person some ten plus minutes. She said she was just so busy. Clearly stressed. Not a good vibe for this place. A boat load of guys got off went to the bar waited for drinks had one each and left. It wasn't just me feeling the negative vibes. I have to admit I left early and we would have stayed. Let's go BT. Inside area is small and cozy. Our waiter was fantastic. The outdoor areas look nice as well but we are from Florida and we stay out of the heat when we can. The pasta dish was fantastic. Broccoli was cooked to perfection, chicken was tender and had perfect amount of seasoning. The home made Alfredo was creamy and rich and one of the best I've had in a restaurant. One of the best meals we've had on the island. We also had the black bean soup which had fantastic flavor and the Chicken Schnitzel which was wonderful as well. (Just don't take pics). Don't go here, especially on your 21st birthday. I asked if there were any specials for your birthday (especially since it was my 21st) she said no which was fine. The food was terrible, I have never ate such bad food on the island. I wouldn't eat it again if they gave it to me for free. So expensive for such bad quality food and service . Waitress barely acknowledged us. Honestly the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant in a long time. The waiter did not care to check on us and the food was disgusting. So, my second visit here and first inside. A disaster inside. The bartender was drunk. Swaying and slurring visibly. Speaking to staff, this is the usual for this bartender. An establishment that would tolerate this is beyond my understanding. Next, I had a pub dog with chili. Quite good if you ignore the 4+ inch long hair pulled out of my mouth. Totally sickendd, I brought this to the attention of said drunk bartender. Her response to the amazement of my guests and I: "well it's not my hair!" Seriously? Go back to your bottle. The manager did comp my tab which was nice and she was as well. We didn't leave totally but chose to move to the outside bar where Dana always seems to make it enjoyable. 1 star for the drunk bartender and hair in my food. 5 stars for the outside staff. I ordered Tequila on ice with a lime and they brought me out a solo sized cup! I was pretty excited about that as usually pours are in much smaller cups. My husband ordered the grouper Rueben and said it was "good, but not great". I however ordered the baha mahi fish tacos and they hit it out of the ballpark with this one!! The mahi was cooked great and flavorful and they blackened it, added chipotle sauce and an amazing pineapple salsa. It was GREAT!! I plan to go back soon and order this again! My go to waterfront restaurant when I'm in town. I always get the Cuban Sandwich and it never disappoints! The Swiss cheese melted around the sides of the bread with a perfect crust. The black bean soup is a must have and the fries are delicious as well. Live music started early afternoon this Wednesday. I love the outside atmosphere and the gorgeous view.
