Arrived by boat. Great service and a wonderful menu. I targeted the Grouper, why not when in Florida. Calamari appetizer was gigantic and delicious. Shrimp Ceviche & Guac made a nice presentation and tasted great. All of our entrees were perfectly prepared and delicios. The restaurant has the views and and beautiful deck for outside seating. Nice bar menu with lots of tropical drinks. Good price/value relationship. Fun vibe overall in a beatiful part of the world. Shore is the kind of place you want to take your out of town visitors to, if you want to show off the fact that you live in paradise, and it will now be my go-to place to take friends who come to visit my wife and me in our new(ish) Florida home. First off, it's a gorgeous restaurant. Modern, kind of coastal vibe, but with lots of wood, too. The outdoor seating area can be turned into indoor seating when the weather is poor. The food is excellent. I had the branzino, which was fabulous, and possibly the best branzino I've ever had. My wife had the fried chicken and she enjoyed it very much. The mac & cheese was rich, creamy, and delicious. If I had to pick on one thing, it was that our server was a little inattentive, and we went really long stretches without a visit from her, so our drinks ran dry and stayed that way, and were never refilled. However, the restaurant is huge and we saw her bouncing all around, serving people inside, outside and in other areas of the restaurant, so I assume we just slipped her mind. Great spot! Came here on a bachelorette with a large group and it was perfect! They sat us outside near the water, promptly brought us waters and greeted us. We started with drinks and a bottle of champagne for the bride which was brought in a wine chiller to keep it cold, they made sure none of our drinks never ended up empty. We ordered a ton of different things and everyone had marvelous things to say! The scallops & risotto, Pork chop, salad with steak, grouper, and a few other items. Extremely disappointed. Shore has always been one of our favorite restaurants, which is why we chose it to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Unfortunately, the entire experience--from the service to the food--was unacceptable. We started with the truffle fries, which we usually love, but there was absolutely no truffle flavor. We sent them back, only to have the exact same fries returned--still no truffle. The entrées were even worse. My husband ordered the ribs, which smelled and tasted spoiled. He ended up only eating the salad on the side. I ordered the shrimp pasta special, and the pasta was completely undercooked and hard. I had both my husband and daughter try it to be sure I wasn't crazy, and they both agreed. When I informed the waitress, she removed only the shrimp from the top of the dish and placed it back in front of me. There was no offer to remake the dish or provide a replacement. When I explained that the pasta was undercooked, she dismissively replied, "If you didn't like the way it tasted, you won't like it if we replace it," and repeated the same response when I told her it wasn't the taste but that it wasn't cooked properly . Her attitude was rude, unprofessional, and completely inappropriate from the get go. At that point, my daughter's birthday celebration was ruined, and we chose to leave and have dessert elsewhere. The best thing about the experience was the valet. I don't know what has happened to Shore, but the drop in food quality and service is alarming. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously and gets things back on track. read more

I enjoy this restaurant each and every time I dine here! Love the vibe of this place. There's a beautiful store with gorgeous items like jewelry and beach wear attached. The food is wonderful. Service staff are all impeccably amazing at helping you choose a good selection off of the menu. Cocktails are equally fabulous. Absolutely beautiful restaurant on Long Boat Key. Has a stunning view. We went on a fairly chill day (55 degrees) and they had screens that came down on the deck so we were still able to enjoy the gorgeous view and keep warm. We started with the Tuna Tartare, which was spectacular (my personal favorite) because the tuna and avocado were so fresh. The fish tacos were also spectacular - loved the mango pico de gallo. We also tried the Shrimp and Scallops, which was served on delicious lemon risotto. Not pictured but we also got the Shore burger, which was also great! The only downside was our server was not super friendly... which I think can really alter the overall experience. Other than that - it was spectacular! Definitely a must try. read more

Wow we had an incredible Birthday dinner with family! They reserved an amazing table in the corner right on the water for us! The calamari appetizer was incredible and the entrees even better. The wait staff was attentive and professional checking in on us throughout the meal to ensure everything was good and we had everything we needed! We came before sunset and even though we were facing East we got a wonderful sunset overlooking the marina. The place is fully accessible and the tables tiered so everyone has a decent view overlooking the water. The only drawback is the restrooms have exceptionally low toilets which are made for kids. They should have fully ADA restrooms and don't. Thank you for an amazing night, excellent service, excellent food, and desserts! If you're looking for a 5 star all around experience from the perfect intimate waterfront ambiance, attentive service, and mouthwatering food, look no further! The herb and shallot goat cheese served as part of the artisanal bread and spread stood out with its savory flavors and creamy texture. We enjoyed the fresh, bold flavors of the black pepper crusted Faroe Island salmon and the pan seared snapper. I particularly enjoyed the crispy yet creamy arancini rice cake and citrus butter with my snapper. The blood orange margarita was refreshingly delightful and I enjoyed more than one! We went here for lunch with friends. This is a very nice restaurant with great views of the water, multiple seating areas (one of which has fire pits) and a nicely appointed full bar. The beet salad ($15) had a lot of spring mix and a mix of sliced beets. A side of bread ($6) was an appropriate accompaniment. I had the crab salad ($35) which had plenty of lump crabmeat over spring mix and some thin sliced veggies. Valet parking is available or you can self park. I accidentally made my reservation for the wrong date, but the staff accommodated us on a busy Saturday night without any hassle. This place never disappoints! I always have come by boat, and was surprised to find they were pretty empty on Saturday night of Memorial Day weekend. Apparently there had been a power outage caused by a transformer having gotten hit about an hour before we arrived for our 7:30pm reservations. They had all the doors open, trying to cool the place down, but it was impossibly hot out. Thankfully, things cooled down quickly as soon as the power was restored and the staff did a great job! Amazing dining spot on longboat key. We came here with a group of friends a few days before Christmas and we loved every bit of our food. We had a later reservation so the sun was already gone, but I know this place has amazing water views if you come in the day / evening. They also have indoor heaters for when it's cold at night and my wife sat right next to it. Since it was our fist time we ordered a bunch of appetizers; ceviche with guacamole, kungpao calamari, and their famous Lobster, Shrimp & Crab Cobb Salad. We enjoyed everything, tho we could have just ordered the Cobb salad, as it was so large it was a meal in and of itself. Since it was around Christmas time, they also had a special menu which had a special drink which I ordered (I think it was called Mistletoe .. something), but we all agreed it was the table's favorite drink. My wife and friend also got an espresso martini, which I thought was one of the all time best I've tasted. For the main meal I ordered one of the specials, a shrimp pasta, which I thoroughly enjoyed, even being a bit full from the apps. This place is an amazing spot for date night or dinner with your friends. I would love to come back again during the day, possibly even for lunch. read more

We arrived at The Shore on Longboat Key by boat, and it felt like stepping into a Caribbean resort. The view from our table overlooking the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway was fantastic --truly best in class. The atmosphere is upscale waterside chic, perfect for a relaxing meal. For lunch, I had the grilled grouper sandwich with truffle fries, and it was excellent--fresh, well-seasoned fish on a perfect brioche bun. Two of us had the grouper sandwich, while the other two had the fish tacos, and everyone enjoyed their meal. Bottom line: We loved it and will definitely be back. read more

This place is a gem! The food is consistently good, and I love how clean and well-maintained everything is--including the charming boutique (if you have to wait for a table just shop around!). I ordered the miso grouper, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, while my boyfriend had the fish tacos and absolutely loved them. My parents enjoyed the grouper sandwich and crab salad, both of which were fresh and delicious. The salad came out late due to the Saturday lunch rush & our server kindly took it off the bill which showed how much they care about their customers enjoying their meals and coming back. Disappointed in our visit. We came off a boat from the dock and did not have wet swimsuits. But we're put outside at a 2 person table with the love bugs swarming us - asked to go inside and were told they had to check with a manager if we could get a booth because or a lot of reservations. There was a couple already at a 4 person booth and there were many many open tables. We did get sat at a 2 person booth but we just fished our appetizer and left. If they don't want people to go there from boats then get rid of the dock. read more

This was one of my last meals on a recent trip to Florida and I couldn't have asked for a more appropriate setting. Shore Longboat Key is waterfront dining at its Florida finest. You're greeted by valet when you arrive, though you may be lucky enough to snag street parking. When you enter, you're immediately saying "wow" audibly. The restaurant is huge, but extremely modern with a gorgeous build out. Open kitchen, a bar that catches your eye, and an outdoor deck overlooking the serene waterfront views. A tropical cocktail seemed appropriate. Something with an umbrella in it. Boom, a Mai Tai sounded great and boy was it great! I had to control my urges to not consume it too quickly. Our large group ordered a robust selection of appetizers and split everything. The two I most looked forward to were the Shrimp Ceviche and Tuna Tartare. These were exceptional. Shrimp Ceviche ($19) served with guacamole and toasting cumin corn tortillas. Fresh, fresh, fresh is the main thing that comes to mind. One of the best guacs I've had in a while too. This is quintessential summer cuisine in Florida. Tuna Tartare ($19) avocado, cucumber, tobiko, wonton crisps, sriracha aioli, beet ginger vinaigrette. Beautiful presentation. The flavors were in perfect harmony with one another. The crispy wonton chips were elite. A top tier starter of a dish that I couldn't eat fast enough. When you're done eating, I implore you to walk out to the dock and soak in the peaceful views. Watch the boats, look for fish, soak in the serenity. Well done, Shore. Our waitperson Chris was as good as it gets; friendly, honest and always there when you needed him. The food was spectacular; we all had different versions of the lobster/shrimp/crab "mountain." It was abundant, creative, delicious and so large a portion that 3 of our group of four had to take it home for lunch the next day. Parking is a breeze since they offer complimentary valet and we didn't have to wait for table since we went to dinner early. We started with drinks of course, we got the espresso martini, dirty martini and old fashion, all them were delicious. For appetizer we got the crab cake, Thai calamari, and the spreads with smoked salmon. All were amazing but the crab cake took the show, my favorite dish of the night. For entrée I got the shrimp and scallop risotto and the fish tacos, both were delicious. I would highly recommend. We finished off with cheesecake and ice cream! Amazing and gorgeous mid century vibe right on the water. Went at night so did get to see the spectacular views. But beautiful big oval bar that brings a lot of energy when you enter. It just needed a little more sauce because it was a little dry. The salad was so full of flavor and I would definitely get it again. We also had the flourless chocolate cake. It came wira go ice cream which didn't really go with the chocolate but would have been better with a lighter dessert. It needed maybe a berry ice cream or vanilla instead. 8 pm dinner reservation on a Thursday, we came early and got drinks at the bar (red sangria was gross and Ruby Red cocktail was pretty good). We were seated at a two seater booth looking over the docks. Pretty crowded and loud. I was facing the AC/fans so a bit windy. Ordered the guac/shrimp ceviche which was nothing special and crabcake which was pretty good (no filler, all crab) for apps. Partner got snapper which was ok and I got the grouper-really good. Both dishes were served hot! Our white wine was brought out after we started eating, but it was a busy night. Small circular Basque cheesecake (made in-house) w/ a scoop of vanilla ice cream, which was ok. If you do not have a reservation, there were plenty of open seats at the bar. Valet parking. We took an Uber from our hotel a few miles down the road. Pretty views of the water, docks and boat especially at sunset time. Nice vibe, probably always fairly crowded. Family friendly.
