The place itself is very pretty, good atmosphere and great view. However, I wouldn't particularly come to this place for their food. It's not bad but it's a place you come to for the vibe. We started with the kung pao calamari: a very interesting take in calamari. The sauce is sweet and the salad paired well, there was sadly much more salad than calamari but I enjoyed this appetizer. Burger: this was my favorite, it was cooked perfectly medium rare and the fries were really good. Baby back Ribs: the sauce was pretty sweet, it was the same one as the calamari, and also the same exact salad as the calamari, disappointed to see my entre was the same exact dish as the calamari but the sauce was on the ribs as well as the salad. It is more like an appetizer to be honest. Fried chicken: they were out of the chicken wings so they offered to use fried chicken breasts instead. The chicken itself was so dry and it had no flavor at all. Really disappointing. Nobu style sablefish: this was the only dish we really enjoyed, it was flavorful and nicely cooked. Would recommend this one Lobster mac and cheese: this one was okay, not a bad dish but needed more salt and felt a bit bland Basque cheesecake: another really disappointing dish, it tasted store bought and just thrown in the plate. Also disappointed that it claimed to be basque cheesecake but it was just a regular cheesecake so why call it basque Also worth noting that they were out of most of the dishes we originally wanted to order so we had to order something else. Get there early. The service was great, our server noticed we didn't like the cheesecake and took it off the check which I appreciated. I would come to this restaurant again but note that the food itself is not that most thought out and flavorful, the place relies on its physical presentation. read more

Shore is consistently an excellent choice. While its beautiful waterfront setting and inviting ambiance are enough to keep me going back, the quality of the food and service are equally impressive. I highly recommend making a reservation around sunset if possible, because the changing views and lighting create a memorable experience. For a more casual meal, the burger and truffle fries are outstanding and generously portioned. On a recent visit, I ordered one of the pasta specials, and every bite was packed with flavor. My husband often chooses one of the fish entrées, and it's always prepared exceptionally well- there arent ever any leftovers on his plate. Considering the quality of the dining experience, the restaurant is reasonably priced for an upscale restaurant. My only criticism is the limited parking. Overall, Shore is a restaurant I would confidently recommend to anyone looking for a wonderful meal and a beautiful evening out. read more

Phenomenal serene and beautiful atmosphere right on the water with large glass windows so you could sit inside and enjoy the magnificent water view. For people who have boats, you can also arrive by boat. All of the food was delicious and most things were able to be made gluten free and even items that most restaurants can't do gluten free and this is NOT a gluten free restaurant. We started with a ceviche appetizer that came with guacamole and freshly homemade corn tortilla chips which was was so fresh. My husband had the pan seared local snapper entree and I had the Hawaiian big eye tuna mignon which came with shrimp risotto, yellow tomato and bok choy in a lobster buerre blanc. It took a while for drinks to arrive and service just felt slow throughout the entire evening. For apps, the calamari was delicious and unique from typical calamari with the addition of the cabbage and Thai flavors. I ordered the beet salad with salmon as my entree- I was quite disappointed with the few number of beets, only one bite of goat cheese, and bland salmon slapped on the side. If I could give a review of 10 out of 5 I would. This place was impeccable. As soon as you walk in, you have the view of the ocean. There was a walkable pier to watch the sunset. The chef deserves a Michelin star. He mixed some fresh ingredients and created the most amazing food ever. The calamari had an Asian twist to it and it was amazing. The tomato soup was nice and thick with goat cheese *chefs kiss*. The corvina laid perfectly in a bed of citrus curry and served with a warm delicious sticky rice that paired perfectly with the fish. Extremely disappointed. Shore has always been one of our favorite restaurants, which is why we chose it to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Unfortunately, the entire experience--from the service to the food--was unacceptable. We started with the truffle fries, which we usually love, but there was absolutely no truffle flavor. We sent them back, only to have the exact same fries returned--still no truffle. The entrées were even worse. My husband ordered the ribs, which smelled and tasted spoiled. He ended up only eating the salad on the side. I ordered the shrimp pasta special, and the pasta was completely undercooked and hard. I had both my husband and daughter try it to be sure I wasn't crazy, and they both agreed. When I informed the waitress, she removed only the shrimp from the top of the dish and placed it back in front of me. There was no offer to remake the dish or provide a replacement. When I explained that the pasta was undercooked, she dismissively replied, "If you didn't like the way it tasted, you won't like it if we replace it," and repeated the same response when I told her it wasn't the taste but that it wasn't cooked properly . Her attitude was rude, unprofessional, and completely inappropriate from the get go. At that point, my daughter's birthday celebration was ruined, and we chose to leave and have dessert elsewhere. The best thing about the experience was the valet. I don't know what has happened to Shore, but the drop in food quality and service is alarming. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously and gets things back on track. read more

Great spot! Came here on a bachelorette with a large group and it was perfect! They sat us outside near the water, promptly brought us waters and greeted us. We started with drinks and a bottle of champagne for the bride which was brought in a wine chiller to keep it cold, they made sure none of our drinks never ended up empty. We ordered a ton of different things and everyone had marvelous things to say! The scallops & risotto, Pork chop, salad with steak, grouper, and a few other items. If you're looking for a 5 star all around experience from the perfect intimate waterfront ambiance, attentive service, and mouthwatering food, look no further! The herb and shallot goat cheese served as part of the artisanal bread and spread stood out with its savory flavors and creamy texture. We enjoyed the fresh, bold flavors of the black pepper crusted Faroe Island salmon and the pan seared snapper. I particularly enjoyed the crispy yet creamy arancini rice cake and citrus butter with my snapper. The blood orange margarita was refreshingly delightful and I enjoyed more than one! Shore Shore Shore, I think last night was our last visit for a long time. Not only is the menu unchanged from years ago and dated but it's frankly unimaginative and boring now. The salmon was mushy, pomegranate reduction was far too sweet, there was zero cheddar on the kids pretzel sliders which were also dry and overcooked, zero seasoning on anything, no bacon jam on the shore burger, and the same salad was served with the jenga ribs that was served with one of our appetizers (kung pao calamari) - see what I mean with lack of imagination?? We went on a fairly chill day (55 degrees) and they had screens that came down on the deck so we were still able to enjoy the gorgeous view and keep warm. We started with the Tuna Tartare, which was spectacular (my personal favorite) because the tuna and avocado were so fresh. The fish tacos were also spectacular - loved the mango pico de gallo. We also tried the Shrimp and Scallops, which was served on delicious lemon risotto. Not pictured but we also got the Shore burger, which was also great! The only downside was our server was not super friendly... which I think can really alter the overall experience. Other than that - it was spectacular! Definitely a must try. read more

Wow we had an incredible Birthday dinner with family! They reserved an amazing table in the corner right on the water for us! The calamari appetizer was incredible and the entrees even better. The wait staff was attentive and professional checking in on us throughout the meal to ensure everything was good and we had everything we needed! We came before sunset and even though we were facing East we got a wonderful sunset overlooking the marina. The place is fully accessible and the tables tiered so everyone has a decent view overlooking the water. The only drawback is the restrooms have exceptionally low toilets which are made for kids. They should have fully ADA restrooms and don't. Thank you for an amazing night, excellent service, excellent food, and desserts! We went here for lunch with friends. This is a very nice restaurant with great views of the water, multiple seating areas (one of which has fire pits) and a nicely appointed full bar. The beet salad ($15) had a lot of spring mix and a mix of sliced beets. A side of bread ($6) was an appropriate accompaniment. I had the crab salad ($35) which had plenty of lump crabmeat over spring mix and some thin sliced veggies. Valet parking is available or you can self park. This place never disappoints! I always have come by boat, and was surprised to find they were pretty empty on Saturday night of Memorial Day weekend. Apparently there had been a power outage caused by a transformer having gotten hit about an hour before we arrived for our 7:30pm reservations. They had all the doors open, trying to cool the place down, but it was impossibly hot out. Thankfully, things cooled down quickly as soon as the power was restored and the staff did a great job! We arrived at The Shore on Longboat Key by boat, and it felt like stepping into a Caribbean resort. The view from our table overlooking the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway was fantastic --truly best in class. The atmosphere is upscale waterside chic, perfect for a relaxing meal. For lunch, I had the grilled grouper sandwich with truffle fries, and it was excellent--fresh, well-seasoned fish on a perfect brioche bun. Two of us had the grouper sandwich, while the other two had the fish tacos, and everyone enjoyed their meal. Bottom line: We loved it and will definitely be back. read more

Amazing dining spot on longboat key. We came here with a group of friends a few days before Christmas and we loved every bit of our food. We had a later reservation so the sun was already gone, but I know this place has amazing water views if you come in the day / evening. They also have indoor heaters for when it's cold at night and my wife sat right next to it. Since it was our fist time we ordered a bunch of appetizers; ceviche with guacamole, kungpao calamari, and their famous Lobster, Shrimp & Crab Cobb Salad. We enjoyed everything, tho we could have just ordered the Cobb salad, as it was so large it was a meal in and of itself. Since it was around Christmas time, they also had a special menu which had a special drink which I ordered (I think it was called Mistletoe .. something), but we all agreed it was the table's favorite drink. My wife and friend also got an espresso martini, which I thought was one of the all time best I've tasted. For the main meal I ordered one of the specials, a shrimp pasta, which I thoroughly enjoyed, even being a bit full from the apps. This place is an amazing spot for date night or dinner with your friends. I would love to come back again during the day, possibly even for lunch. read more

This place is a gem! The food is consistently good, and I love how clean and well-maintained everything is--including the charming boutique (if you have to wait for a table just shop around!). I ordered the miso grouper, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, while my boyfriend had the fish tacos and absolutely loved them. My parents enjoyed the grouper sandwich and crab salad, both of which were fresh and delicious. The salad came out late due to the Saturday lunch rush & our server kindly took it off the bill which showed how much they care about their customers enjoying their meals and coming back. Shore is the kind of place you want to take your out of town visitors to, if you want to show off the fact that you live in paradise, and it will now be my go-to place to take friends who come to visit my wife and me in our new(ish) Florida home. First off, it's a gorgeous restaurant. Modern, kind of coastal vibe, but with lots of wood, too. The outdoor seating area can be turned into indoor seating when the weather is poor. The food is excellent. I had the branzino, which was fabulous, and possibly the best branzino I've ever had. My wife had the fried chicken and she enjoyed it very much. The mac & cheese was rich, creamy, and delicious. If I had to pick on one thing, it was that our server was a little inattentive, and we went really long stretches without a visit from her, so our drinks ran dry and stayed that way, and were never refilled. However, the restaurant is huge and we saw her bouncing all around, serving people inside, outside and in other areas of the restaurant, so I assume we just slipped her mind. I cannot wait to return to Shore by boat, as that will only make the experience better. Our boat is gassed up and ready to go...get that branzino ready! read more

Our salad came quick but dinner took very long. Attentive waiter checked on us to apologize for delay. I am thinking we were forgotten because other tables seated after us were done with their meals before ours even arrived.
