Eventually, our party arrived so we moved to our table. Our waitress was super friendly and very helpful with ordering. We started with the Lobscargot which was amazing! The lobster pieces drenched in butter were soo good. Three in our party ordered the filet and it melted in your mouth. My husband ordered the baked Halibut and loved it. Amazing service, food, and atmosphere. It's one of my favorite places to dine on special occasions. Most recently, we took our kids to dinner with us for Valentine's. Everyone enjoyed the food. Plus, our waitress was so friendly with them. They felt so special and absolutely loved the food! We were having such a good time. I forgot to take photos! My daughter had a Caesar salad and kids mac n cheese. My son had the chicken fingers. My husband and I both had the filet mignon. It was cooked perfectly. The restaurant is decorated with a modern coastal vibe with a large aquarium tank in the middle. Tables are made to be intimate so perfect for 2-4 people. Though they can accommodate larger parties. The service was friendly and attentive, and I appreciate the staff's efforts. Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended. I honestly don't understand how this restaurant has such high ratings. The prices were ridiculously expensive for what you get, the portions were extremely small, and the food itself was disappointing. I don't mind paying premium prices when the quality and portion sizes justify it, but that definitely wasn't the case here. I left feeling like I had overpaid for a very average meal. I went to this restaurant last year and decided to invite some colleagues to join me for dinner there when I return to Sarasota. This place gets really busy so I highly recommend either making a reservation or going on the earlier side. They open at 4 PM. Our server was Joei and we had an amazing service. I recently became dairy free and they were able to make the halibut dish that I ordered without dairy. The oysters were fresh. There is a huge fish tank inside and it does get a little cold so bring a light jacket or coat. Come check this place out if you have a chance. read more

We were in town for one night to see a friend from out of the country and had dinner here. Everything we had was excellent. My friend thoroughly enjoyed the chicken hut the star of the show was the steak. I had the filet with king crab Oscar and it was fantastic. I wanted to have a nice dinner and this place was about half a block from where I was staying. I made reservations and went at 6pm. They quickly seated me at a roomy table even though I was dining alone, which was really nice. It had a comfortable vibe, not overly fancy but nice. You wouldn't want to really come here with flip flops on. I had a glass of cabernet and started with a beet salad. It came with baby arugula, goat cheese, and candied pistachio. The menu stated that the dressing was blueberry vinegarette but I couldn't tell. The salad was dry with only a subtle hint of dressing in the middle. I ate the beets and the goat cheese and called it quits. For my entrée, I had the 12 oz Prime Angus ribeye. I asked for medium rare. I don't like overcooked steak. I also ordered some creamed spinach. The creamed spinach was great and the portion was quite large. I would say, 2 people can easily share this side and be food. My steak was overcooked, sadly. It came out more like a medium well rather than a medium rare. The taste was good but on the dry side from over cooking. I ordered dessert as well. I had the flourless chocolate tort but it was swimming in raspberry sauce. It was good but I couldn't finish so I took my leftovers back to the condo I was staying at. Service was excellent. We arrived at around 6:40 pm without a reservation and were able to get a table within a few minutes! The hostess was kind and led us straight to our table. Our waitress-- Terry, was absolutely phenomenal! She read us the specials and was very attentive. I was celebrating my 21st birthday and she was the first person of the day to ID me!! She gave me a cute birthday card and congratulated me :) The food was PHENOMENAL. I have never had a steak with such an amazing crust yet still juicy and pink in the middle. I will say, the halibut dish was oversalted and overpriced for what the dish contained. The drinks were delicious but nothing special, I would not get it again unfortunately. As for the ambiance, it was modern yet cozy and a bit dim. If I were to celebrate another special occasion, I'd visit again (but not anytime soon as it was a bit pricey lol). read more

Went here to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday. We made a reservation weeks in advance. Our table was ready early, and they messaged us by text, so we went early. We only waited five min for them to set up our table. We were surprised that they had handwritten a birthday card for my dad! What a nice touch. Service was excellent. The food was really good. They brought us some freshly baked rolls with salted butter. Yum!!!! We had a half dozen of seasonal oysters, the French onion soup (mom loved it!) and a siesta wedge salad but didn't want to get too filled up on appetizers. My husband and I split the 18oz NY strip. They offered to split it in the kitchen, which we agreed to, and appreciated. I asked for it with blue cheese- a good decision. My dad had the 12oz NY strip Oscar style with a side of seared scallops. Mom had the 6oz filet, my mother in law did as well, with a side of cognac mushroom sauce, and my father in law had the 10oz filet. We shared sides- bourbon bacon Brussels sprouts, grilled asparagus, five cheese macaroni with jalapeño and bacon crust, hand crafted Wagyu beef fat fries, and the wild local mushrooms and onions. All the sides were so good. Steaks were cooked to our preference and for once- mine had enough salt! Woohoo! They surprised dad with a complimentary dessert and a candle. Not a lot of places do that anymore. We were very grateful. We had a round of dessert cocktails- chocolate martini, espresso martini and some sort of alcoholic Vietnamese style iced coffee- which was fantastic! It had a whipped vanilla cream on top. We were in and out of there quickly as we didn't want to miss the sunset on the beach. Bathrooms are clean, valet parking (we walked), great service and delicious food. My husband sat at the bar @ Summer House for a date night while staying in Siesta Key. What a treat!!! Great wine menu and delicious martinis. We had a crab cake, oysters & a wedge salad (so good) to start. Dinner we got the jalapeño bacon crusted Mac and cheese to share, which was incredible, and my husband got a filet with scallops as an add on that we shared. Food was delicious! Every time I'm in town relaxing at siesta key beach I come to this place for the most amazing steak & lobster dishes. Over the Mac n cheese I prefer the risotto & the lobster bisque was very unique and tasted like it took hours to cook. The service is always great & my drinks are pretty refreshing. After a day in the sun you could even split a steak and side dish with someone and after you each have a drink and the starter bread and/or app you will be satisfied. I prefer to have dinner right when they open verses later at night just because I prefer to eat in peace and get my food super fast haha. I've done both and was content recognizing the sweet time to have dinner drinks and dessert with an in and out peace included mentality!! read more

Great experience! We had a birthday party with 13 people. We were promptly sat and greeted with waters. The waitress explained the specialty cocktails and gave a run down of the menu. Once we ordered drinks, they were all brought together along with a few plates of bread for our table. We ordered appetizers, salads, soups and entrees. The apps and soups/ salads were brought out together. Summer House continues to be an absolute must when visiting Siesta Key. Just like last year, the pork was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The wagyu sirloin was incredible, as I didn't want to splurge on it last year and knew better this year . It was crispy with a beautiful crust on the outside and cool in the center, exactly how I like it. The fries were tasty, and while I couldn't enjoy the mac and cheese this time due to a newly developed severe dairy allergy, it looked so amazing I almost considered it with my EpiPen ready! Eric, our server, was fantastic, friendly, funny, and attentive throughout the night. We enjoyed warm rolls, lychee martinis that were both strong and sweet, and even birthday green tea shots, which Eric kindly offered. The ambience was wonderful for our Sunday 8 PM reservation, and the handmade birthday card briught to our table by the manager was such a thoughtful touch. Summer House remains one of our top dining experiences and will always be a Siesta Key staple for us. read more

1st night on a mini getaway (holiday?) and we stop at this joint just off of ocean St. Quiet for a Wednesday I guess so we belly up and the wife gets a Sancerre and I get my usual. We have 2 very nice bartenders and they recommend the pork chop and the halibut special. Wah wah. No pork chop so we pivot to the chicken. We start w a fairly average wedge. Just ok. So out comes the chicken and the halibut, just for the halibut. It's a big piece of fish. Like really big. With this panko/crab/lobster topping, grilled asparagus and mashed. Wow. Well done chef! The chicken was a sleeper. Clearly brined and according to the bartenders then sous vie'd. And some sort of reduction. Also on point. We finished with their key line, just tell them to hold the pineapple. Good by the glass wine list too. Go here. Bonus brunch review...so we went here for brunch same visit and initially thought it was $65pp but actually $75pp and really not worth $50pp. Brunch is a buffet with the usual all you can eat crab legs which I always found to be annoying, prime rib, bacon, sausage, pastries, weak scrambled, eh potatoes, waffles stacked hi and no omelette station which I thought odd. For our 15th wedding anniversary, we returned to the Summer House. Reservation, reminders, and communication were on point. They asked for info to make our time special. We enjoyed our first meal, so we ordered our favorites again. French Onion soup boast flavor with sweet onions and was not strong or salty, just perfect. We got a single crab cake with big chucks of crab. The beet salad had amazing texture with goat cheese, pistachios, blueberries, and arugula. We shared the ribeye, which was seared with a crisp edge but with med-rare inside. The lobster risotto was really rich with strong lobster flavor, which was cooked well but very rich, so a little goes a long way. We were treated with a light creamy custard dessert with biscotti. Joseph was an excellent server and made our dinner pleasant. We shared our meal, and he had the kitchen split it for us. We don't drink alcohol but had refreshing mocktails. The blueberry lemonade had fresh blueberries and hit the spot. We enjoyed our special anniversary meal and will keep the sweet anniversary card they gave us. Perfect touch! read more

We went here with high hopes and lots of recommendations. My husband and I ordered filet mignon and scallops. The steak was disappointing. We both ordered them medium and the outside of the steak was just burnt and the inside was the right temperature. It felt like a way to force you to pay for steak sauce. Very little flavor on the steak. The scallops were cooked well. We got the Cesar salad to split which was good, and for sides we got potatoes au gratin and brussel sprouts. Both sides were very good. The experience felt more like a sales pitch where we were continually tried to upsell our order. With tip we spent over $300 for a meal I could have made better at home.
