Dinner at Beach House Waterfront Restaurant was lovely! My sister made reservations for 4 of us at 5pm on a Monday night, and we were seated very quickly. Our server was attentive, friendly, and always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. The food also came out surprisingly fast. We started with the calamari appetizer, which was very fresh and delicious. The only downside was that there were a lot of fried onions and banana peppers mixed in with it, which kind of overwhelmed the calamari a bit. Still, I would definitely recommend it. For our entrées, we had the coconut shrimp and the branzino, and both were incredibly fresh and flavorful. The branzino was filleted perfectly with no bones at all. Our waiter recommended getting it sautéed, and he was absolutely right, it was amazing. For dessert, we ordered the key lime pie to go, but after we left we realized we had accidentally been given caramel cheesecake instead. We went back, and the owner was so kind and accommodating, they gave us the correct key lime pie and let us keep the cheesecake on the house. And honestly, that key lime pie was the best I've had on this mini vacation. I've been ordering key lime pie at every dinner to compare them all, and this one was by far my favorite. It was perfectly tart yet sweet, and the graham cracker crust was incredible. Highly recommend! read more

Sat right on one of the most beautiful beaches in Florida it is the perfect place to get some drinks, eat some food, and watch the sunset. Our service was great and the food came out quick! After a morning of frolicking in the ocean the delicious looking scents at Beach House Waterfront Restaurant called us over! The restaurant looked a bit too nice for our kind on the outside, but their expansive, covered back patio was welcoming to our sandy feet and cover ups. Our server was really fantastic -- welcoming, funny, and helpful. You could tell he was a pro. The hosting station definitely had a few kinks to work out, but hopefully that will come with training and time. Grouper bites, cheeseburgers, calamari, salads, and grouper sandwich were all a hit. Even though many of the restaurants up and down the strip all share similar menus I could tell that these items were prepared with expertise and care. The quality of seafood was also definitely noticed. We were not planning to get drinks when sitting down but the relaxing beach atmosphere quickly changed our mind. This is definitely a place to stay and enjoy a good meal. Loved how they had a few games in the sand, plus indoor and outdoor bathrooms. read more

Can't beat the tables in the sand! My shrimp scampi was delicious. Generous amount of shrimp. My pina colada was one of the better ones I had. It was on the thinner side, which I liked. My BF got the rum runner bucket, which he enjoyed but I was not a fan of. I prefer a sweeter RR. My BF had the filet. It was not medium rare as he ordered, and unfortunately it took more than a few minutes for someone to check on us so we could relay this. But the manager came by and had it remade and then made sure it was cooked to my BF's liking. Although I thought our server was pretty good overall, I appreciate when servers notice empty water glasses. He asked me if I wanted another drink but never actually took my empty glass away until the end. read more

One of our favorites at AMI and it has valet parking. It was a little strange this visit, however, with seating. We wanted outside or a window and since nothing was available outside for 45 minutes we took the window. As it turned out we were put in the "family room". We were the only couple in there (and seniors on a date). We gave it a try but ended up moving to the bar because we couldn't hear each other. It ended up working out better for us and they were happy to accommodate us. Grateful for the wonderful service and food. read more

Last time we were here was a year ago. Imagine our surprise at the menu changes and they were very pricey and it doesn't make sense. I am not paying $42 for a 6oz steak. Fish and chips I believe was $32. The liquor is top tier pricing for bottom shelf liquor. Majority of their menu is seafood now and never noticed any vegan options. We were so disappointed that they no longer serve the coconut cake from "hometown desserts"! That was one of the main reasons we came back to this restaurant. Staff was very nice and blamed corporate for the new changes. I guess the swordfish grill and tiki bar will be our new favorite. Their shrimp tacos are amazing. read more

Disaster. Team dinner, with reservations, of course, and they took over an hour... AN HOUR ... to bring the food. These were teenagers who needed sleep for tournament play the next morning, and this "high class" establishment couldn't have been a bigger waste of time, except, somehow, they were: my niece got food-poisoning from these inept people. You can put a restaurant in a great location and make it look as nice as you want, but if you can't make and serve food promptly and, most importantly, safely, then you're just a tourist trap. Nothing beats the feeling of going out for dinner after a long day at the beach. The Beach House Waterfront restaurant gives off all of the amazing summer & beach vibes as it is located right on the beach with both indoor and outdoor seating, so you can enjoy the stunning ocean view from anywhere. Most restaurants on the island don't take reservations in advance, but I love that this restaurant does because it's so nice to have a spot locked down for dinner without wondering if you'll have a 2+ hour wait. Tip: book your reservation around sunset and you will not be disappointed. I went last summer with my family at sunset and the sky was painted a gorgeous pink and orange. Most recently, I dined around 4 pm and there was no wait, so that is also something to keep in mind if you're looking for a nice place to grab a bite to eat, but don't want to worry about a long wait. Now, for the food. My go-to at most beachy/seafood restaurants is some sort of fish taco. I ordered the grouper tacos, which come with a side of fries and coleslaw. They were packed with blackened grouper, mango salsa, cheese, and a fresh lime sauce. The food was very hot and quite a big portion, so depending on your appetite these tacos could definitely be shared as one taco came with a large piece of grouper. read more

We recently visited AMI and loved Beach House so much we went twice. I ordered a Pina Colada and it as THE BEST one I've ever had. Not too sweet, not too much coconut, it was perfect. I'd recommend the Grouper and Grits or the Grouper Tacos with a side of grits. So, so good! We were told we would have a 40 min wait to sit inside but ended up getting a table within 10 mins, so I wouldn't be discouraged by a long quoted wait time. read more

We had a great experience for dinner at one of the beach front tables with our excellent server Collin. He was witty, funny and attentive. My brother noticed that Collin's cologne Smelled great. He was embarrassed to ask him what it was so I asked for him. Collin explained that it was a special cologne designed by his friend and not available to buy. That was our only disappointment. lol. Updating as we brought our family here for a sunset dinner and the experience fell short of my last review. The location of course, is unbeatable. For the most part everything was as is. Where they fell short is in the new menu. Since my last review the tuna poke has changed to more of tuna on chips. Still good, but not great as it was before. Seems as though they needed to reduce the cost on this one. Calamari and coconut shrimp are still as is and super fresh. The lettuce in our farm salad was a bit silty and not as fresh as my other visits. Waiter was good but was not as attentive as Gavin and took a long time to get our check and check on our needs into the meal. No dessert was offered. Normally at least the key lime pie is mentioned. Beach House should be a 5 star restaurant and would be with just a little effort. We went there for our 22nd wedding anniversary. The meal started sooooo well. We were seated outside on the patio with an incredible view. Talk about right on the beach, the Beach House really is on the beach. We ordered our drinks and got our picture taken. Waiter comeback with the drinks and bam, everything changed. He drops the entire tray of drinks on the table, and they splash all over my wife. He didn't even do much to clean it up, though he as apologetic. Someone else did most of the clean up. It took awhile to get our drinks again. My wife had to move seats her area was so wet from the spills. They should have moved our table, but didn't even think about it. Our appetizer came, the tuna avocado nachos. This was soooo good. If you go to Beach House, get this, one of the best apps I have had in a long time. The flavors were so good and went together so well. I had such high hopes after the nachos. Then, our main courses came. I got the stuff grouper. I think the chef lost his salt and other spices. It was one of the most bland meals I have ever had. My daughters have worked as servers at an assisted living facility. Their chef has a better understanding of seasoning than whoever cooked my grouper. It was not a cheap meal, and I expected it to be cooked better. My wife had the honey-fig glazed salmon. I mean this had to have flavor, right? Nope, the glaze was fine, but the salmon had no seasoning. Now, there was a wedding reception going on at the same time we were there, so maybe the kitchen was impacted. And it was a Saturday night. But, if you are going to charge that much for your entrees, use some salt and pepper. It isn't that hard. Thankfully, my wife, and the view, were beautiful so the night wasn't a complete waste. At this point, Beach House was between a 3 and 4 star review. Then we received the bill. Now, I never complain or make a scene at a restaurant. In life, I have a philosophy of doing the right thing, and if people do the right thing with me, we will get along fine. If they don't, I don't complain to them, but I might just say something on Yelp. My wife worked, and my daughter works, in higher end restaurants. Heck, I have had a waitress at Denny's spill stuff on us. The common courtesy in the industry is they comp you something. You spilled at tray of drinks, comp the drinks. It is a way to say sorry for negatively impacting your dinner. Usually, I have seen people get their app comped. Nothing major, more of a gesture for spilling something on you. Accidents happen, and I don't hold it against anyone, but the waiter response was not great. We, especially my beautiful bride, was very gracious, maybe too gracious. There was no deduction on the bill. I won't ask for something to be comped, again, doing the right thing only works if you do it on your own. I have to say I was disappointed. Just thinking about it as I write this, every time something like this has happened in the past, the manager also came by to check and apologize. Never saw the manager. My friend recommended the Beach House and we went based on that recommendation. He loves the place. We didn't. I don't think we would ever go back. We left dissatisfied with the food, a very wet dress, and memories of being together. Wife and I ate at the beach together, and that was enough for our anniversary. But not enough to give Beach House anymore than a 2 star review. read more

Started with an off valet attendant who admonished me for not pulling up further when we were clearly unloading our family as we appeared interminably blocked by a slow unload in front, there was no-one behind us! My 34 year old son with his wife and daughter was carded, utterly ridiculous and the waitress was kind of off with him, clearly he is well past 21! His younger sister and her husband were not carded, to be fair the waitress appeared to recognize she was probably out of order and my son found a soft copy of his license (he does everything else through his phone when not driving) on his phone and behold, an alcoholic drink was duly served him. Food was excellent, served in good time, accurate and very tasty Ambiance and overall vibe was good, very busy and some nice views of the ocean. I thought it was a little pricey but considering the location and 6 adults, overall not bad The whole carding my son left a bad taste, as much for initial attitude. It was my wife's 60th birthday and the waitress did recognize this with a free desert which was nice. Ate here last evening with a group of fellow parents from the out of town Pittsburgh Central Catholic rowing team, in for the national championships in Sarasota. Had a very pleasant evening and some great food here! First off, the free valet parking was great! (Of course, I tipped the valet $10) We were seated outside with a shore view and watched the sunset. The food? Delicious! I was brought a great IPA (servers choice), and the brussel sprout appetizer I ordered was fantastic - large enough to share with others. I then had the seafood pasta, which was terrific...generous portions of shrimp, clam, scallops, and nice shaved Parmesan cheese on top. Yummy! The bread brought to the table was excellent!
