5 Star update- same great craft cocktails but adding that they have wonderful outdoor seating and some lovely dishes. We grabbed reservations for the outdoor area to enjoy the weather and were thankful for the shady tree cover. This time we opted for some bites and though the menus change seasonally, I would recommend anything featuring tomatoes. They use truly fantastic heirloom tomatoes that remind you what you're missing with the watery ones we get at the grocery store. Also recommend the Mediterranean Platter. It's full of veggies and the dips are YUM. As usual, the cocktails didn't disappoint. It's never a weekend in AMI without a visit here! (Plus, the service is AMAZING) We walked in (no reservation) after dinner one weekend evening and we were greeted by Matt, who found us a spot at the bar. He gave us menus and a "wellness shot" -- delicious little concoction to wet your palate! Right away I was blown away by the interior and the menu. This looked like it belonged somewhere in Denver or Chicago, but I was thrilled to find it on the island! Matt helped guide us to drinks we'd like on the menu. I ordered the Purgatory, made up of Bourbon, chocolate bitters, agave and premium mezcal. It was divine!! We also ordered some warmed olives, and they were hot and so fragrant. Definitely something I'd order again at the bar. I was stoked to see they have a veggie-specific section on the food menu and can't wait to go back for dinner. I'll definitely make a reservation though, as it was pretty full. Next time, in terms of drinks, I have my eyes on the espresso martini (off menu, but saw a pic on Yelp), and the kiss kiss bang bang. I've visited here during the summer for the last four or five years. I I have mixed reviews at range quite a bit. In general sitting inside has been a great experience. Between the decor and the service and just being inside and hot summer days, it's generally been great. We visited twice now and sat in the garden area and I don't recommend it for summer days. It's generally hot even with the fans. Also, the service is not that great. They tend to leave plates sitting around for sometime after you're done. You also run out of water and have to wait or ask them to please refill it. Not sure if part of it is that they automatically charged 20% service charge so maybe they're taking it for granted From a drinks and food perspective it's very good. I would rate them a solid 4. A unique dining experience ( the doctor was in) in Holmes Beach -unassuming, innocuous building with outside garden although the six of us ate inside. At first, we entered the wrong door - into the bar room which was packed. Fortunately, we had a reservation in the garden room- about 6 tables and away from the bar and outdoor garden. I had the pain killer cocktail for starters- a large dark rum concoction which was very good. My wife and I split the Mediterranean platter- vegetables, hummus, pita and olive tapenade. Glad I read Yelp reviews beforehand so I ordered the duck tacos- highly recommend. 2 large soft shell tacos with plenty of duck( a lot to quack about). We finished with bananas foster- outstanding desert which we all shared. Service was professional; never rushed. Everyone enjoyed their cocktails and entrees which included shrimp and lobster tacos, seafood stew, and smoked salmon. The room was full but maybe the drinks loosened us up and ambient noise was minimal. We also loved the music being piped in- '60's and 70's soft rock. Simply superb! First time in with a foursome after a sunset cruise on Fun Boat tours across the road. We made a reservation (excuse me, "appointment ") for 8:45 and were seated promptly in the inside dining room. Eclectic space with a huge bar . There is a beautiful expansive patio and another small dining room at the other end of what used to be doctors' offices. The menu is unusual with so many tasty options! Cocktails were strong and delicious. Service was excellent throughout. The Lobstercargo was outstanding, as were my grouper tacos - no bits of grouper- a big chunk of super fresh fish. This space is perfect for large parties, as our group of 11 was able to be seated together at one long table. Food was on the pricier side, with some dishes being worth it and others not. The shrimp and lobster tacos ($28) were very delicious, with tender meat mixed with savory sauces on fluffy and warm soft taco shells. The big grouper sandwich ($36) was not worth it. The fish was cooked tenderly, but there weren't any special flavors to it, despite its higher price point. My wife and I ate in the garden recently. My wife's food was excellent. I'm a vegetarian and surprisingly there is no vegetarian entree. I got some surperb tomato soup, and all I could order for dinner in this upscale beautiful please was tacos. So I got two vegetarian tacos which frankly were kind of tasteless. There were more than twice as much as in some other local mexican places and were not great. The drinks, service and atmosphere in the garden were perfect, but as a vegetarian, I just don't understand why such a fine restaurant can't figure out to have at least one tasty first class entree. read more

Have been wanting to go to this place for years and finally went and unfortunately it was underwhelming. I feel like the drinks used to be a lot more creative from what I saw on their socials and from what my friend said who went back in the day it used to be more of a speakeasy elevated cocktail vibe versus a tiki/dive bar vibe. We had to ask for the chips that are supposed to be given complimentary and then we ordered bread and soup which literally took an unnecessary like 30 mins or more to come out as we watched the people on both sides of us get their full meals before us when we got items that just had to be reheated. The tomato soup was very good once it finally came out, the rolls were good but nothing as great as the hype in my opinion for the menu. The drinks were good but honestly the starter shot given at the bar was my favorite which was a hibiscus Pom margarita which I ended up getting fully as my second drink. Service started out hot but then went downhill but that is unfortunately the standard of when gratuity is already included in a check. Then when it came time to pay it got weird when there was a simple mix up when my friend intentionally overpaid even with gratuity involved in her check and the bartender asked her if she wanted change and she said yes but never brought it back. My friend gave 3 - 20s on a $38 check (gratuity) already in but she wanted to tip a few more dollars because she is a very generous person and then when she asked about her change that's when it got weird and the bartender made it seem like she didn't understand why she wanted change instead of just apologizing for the mistake and they went back and forth for a few minutes with the bartender ending up just giving her the extra $20 back. Just left a weird taste in our mouths for the experience when I feel like any bartender would understand what she wanted to do with giving extra larger bills to split especially when she said she wanted change and it was a massive overpayment or if the thought there was a very generous tip like 30% would make sure with guest that's what they want and show appreciation if that were the case. It was just weird how it all was handled. The decor was on point for Christmas and the vibe was very casual but oldie vibes which makes sense for it being in Anna Maria island. read more

Ok. I've done all sorts of Yelp searches for this area, and but somehow i missed this place on my radar. As we wandered about looking for someplace for dinner (the place we had intended for the evening was maxed out with one large party, so needed to look elsewhere) realized we just happened upon a place we had driven by a couple of times called "The Doctors Office". They had a beautiful garden area outside where people were dining, but it was a pretty warm night, so decided to check out the inside - where we found a really cool space and were greeted by the host asking: "Do you have an appointment?" (Get it? Doctors office...reservations...appointment!? Too cute a play on the doctor's office thing! : ) Well, we did NOT have said appointment (and the main dining area was quite full!) but thankfully there was one table remaining in the back lounge area, which was through a hidden door made to look like a bookshelf! This area also had its own cool vibe. Waiter (Matt) immediately placed two little medicine cups in front of us - to sample their cherry rum punch. Delish. I ordered a cocktail (cannot recall the name but along the lines of a manhattan) while my DH stayed with red wine (boooooo-ring! ; ) We shared the smoked salmon appetizer (super yummo!) Then on to dinner. OK, we're talking seafood country here! But, over the course of the several days we've been here, I ordered seafood every single time. I adore seafood but was ready for something else. So, was being realistic when I ordered something on the beef realm. Got the short rib dish and it did not disappoint. It was excellent. Maybe not the "easily shredded with a fork" ones I have had elsewhere, but certainly super tasty and not at all tough or fatty. DH got the shrimp-lobster tacos and said they were incredible! No leftovers coming home with this guy! Our waiter, Matt, was new to this establishment (but not waitering) and was attentive and personable - above and beyond. Would highly recommend. Annette was wonderful once again. Two in a row!!! This is our 2nd time visiting. It's quickly becoming a family tradition to stop here. I am elated to be welcomed by the owners Chris and Olivia by affiliation since she wasn't present this evening (restaurant's been open for approximately 8 months or so...don't quote me) especially when the next table was available at 9PM on a Saturday evening. They opened their doors at 5PM and told my husband they were fully booked. Had I known, I would've booked online or by phone. Turns out, Chris said the phones happen to be broken today. Crazy story. Can't make it up. So relieved I walked into use the restroom because now, we were seated immediately by Annette. I prayed while I was in the ladie's room for God to make a way. Wow, this place is amazing. We came for brunch on Sunday, and as soon as we sat down, we made reservations for the next night for dinner. The food was absolutely delicious and the drinks were perfection! We loved the Pain Killer, Bloody Mary and Espresso Martini. We had the Lobster Benedict and Seafood Cocktail for Brunch and the Lobstercargots, Short Rib and Bouillabaisse for dinner. Victor was our waiter and he is every reason we want to come back and visit this island. The locals are the kindest people! He was so much fun and made our experience 10 times better. Sunday Bruch was a blast, and they even offer an absolute beast of a Bloody Mary which comes with a show. It was really fun to see. We will be back, and I really hope we get to see Victor again!! I have been coming here for years with my family and I am so glad to see it held up after Hurricane Milton. If you are looking for the best cocktails on the island, look no further from the Doctor's Office. I prefer to sit at the bar here, but that is only for drinks. If you are looking to get food, the ambiance outside is by far the best. Highly recommend the lobster escargot, something you can't get in a lot of places and it was phenomenal. Johnathan, the bar tender has also been there for quite some time and he is already great. I never introduced myself until this year, and he had my dad and I cracking up. Great experience overall, will continue to come back here. The only thing I miss is their old menus. It brought a little more charm to the place than their plastic menus.
