With some of the best bedside manners in any physicians I have ever encountered, a genuine caring and compassionate approach to his patience and a direct but kind communication style, Dr. Gussous has successfully given back a huge part of my life activities back. Once I met the good doctor on a recommendation of my primary care physicion and we reviewed my back X-Rays and MRI, he gave me several options to address the issue. The options we discussed were conservative appraoches in nature and least intrusive with the highest potential chance of success and overall benefits for my condition. The L4-L5 TLIF surgery was very successful. The constant pain in my lower back and legs were gone. I resumed walking and normal activities within a couple weeks of the surgery and started playing golf and tennis around six months after the surgery. At the 1 year anniversary mark, I have had a full recovery and I am as active as I was in prior years before the surgery. I am grateful to Dr. Gussous for a succesful surgery and a great experince overall. They were patient, thorough, and took the time to go through my imaging and treatment options in detail. All of my questions and concerns were addressed -- something I had felt was missing from the initial phone consultation. The willingness to follow up and ensure I felt heard as a patient made a meaningful difference. Chronic pain is a complex journey and finding a physician who is willing to engage thoughtfully and take concerns seriously matters enormously. His staff are super nice and very responsive. The waiting room very comfortable and stylish at the same time. "Now for the good part" I came in for what I suspected was a recurrence of a hernia. After consulting with Dr. Wynn and him checking me out; he was not confident that a hernia was my problem so he ordered a CAT scan with contrast. "Because of my past procedures" After getting the results back he informed me that I did not have a hernia and that the cause most likely is from scar tissue. The CAT scan also found a couple other issues so he referred me to a specialist. Dr. Nguyen is fantastic, he takes his time with you and he listens. He is also very personable. Dr. Nguyen repaired a nightmarish hernia situation for me; my original injury was in late 2019, and…read moredue to lockdowns, surgery in general not being allowed, etc., by the time I was able to get it repaired, the damage was severe. Repeated attempts to rectify in the years afterward were not effective, and my quality of life was severely affected. Dr. Nguyen performed robotic-assisted surgery to address the situation, and while the repairs were extremely extensive, incisions were tiny and the healing time was brief. Overall, a life-changing experience, and a very empathetic, caring, and highly experienced surgeon.
