Sande's is a diner that has been in business for over 40 years. Built over an old ranch house, it's of the age where it has no natural gas service; it has a giant propane tank at the back and it is cash-only. Menu is classic luncheonette/diner, it is a hash-slinging joint with a cast of regular characters -- an endangered species of place that I'm glad is still enduring. Sande passed away in July of 2022; the restaurant is now run by her daughter, who is manning the fort upfront. Benedicts -- which come with a big glass of mimosa -- are served on weekends. I'm a big fan of brunch and love places like this to visit. Sande's was a nice diner style restaurant with simple menu items and decent food. Menu is what you would expect for a local breakfast joint but has lots of options. I went with the #1 which comes with two eggs, toast, and bacon or sausage, of course went with the bacon. Also got a side of hashbrowns as well which were alright. Sunny side up eggs were PERFECT and went great with their whole wheat toast. WOW!!! In fact, 2 WOW's!!! Walked down to this diner while waiting on my car to get serviced. So glad I did. I really liked the old Florida vibe and the reasonable prices (CASH ONLY) as well as the very friendly service from everyone. I love a place when a server walks by and notices you need coffee and fills it, even if they were not the one who took your order. Teamwork takes care of the customer. The place seemed like it was going to be good. I had read a lot of reviews that were very good. We arrived and were seated in a small booth with 6 women. The menu looked good! Our waitress assured us it was as good as it looked! The food arrived 1 by 1 so being polite we all waited for everyone to get their meal before eating. Most of our eggs were cold. This place is really cute. I love supporting businesses that have been around a long time and add character to our little beach town. It's sad that a lot of these types of businesses are being cut out of our town, so this one is def a go to for us. I had a veggie omelette this morning and it was so good. I usually don't even like omelettes but I was trying to make a healthier choice. I ate the whole thing! The grits were amazing too, which is always impressive. ok so theres 2 kinds of breakfast spots . good ones and bad ones and then there's a third .... really good ones . sandes falls into the good one category, but high on the good ones list . sandes is one of the few old school joints left where you actuallly get what you ask for ,a no surprises dinner style spot . you order scrambled eggs with rye toast and guess what . your eggs come scrambled and you got rye toast too . they do get extra points though because when you ask for home fries "well done" more often than not when your plate comes , you look down at it and there sits some well done home fries . oh and btw read the signs posted everywhere and you'll understand that they are a cash only establishment and when you go to pay your bill they will expect you to have good old american CASH . yup that's old school right there . I've been going to Sandes for years on and off It was my go to place because it felt like home The food is good and quick and one of the servers Annie makes you feel right at home always has a smile on her face and very nice. I don't think I will be going back as the atmosphere has changed and the waitresses don't really chat as much as they used to. It just doesn't have that friendly neighborhood vibe anymore. I used to go to Sande's quite a bit when I lived down the street, just over the Boynton town line. A few years had passed believe it or not since I had went there for breakfast, but found myself there for Father's Day recently. No matter how long it's been, Sande's continues to serve great breakfast dishes without the frills or fusses that you may see a mile south in Downtown Delray. Sande's is conveniently located off of US 1 North about a mile before you drive into Boynton. Parking fills up during the weekends, so either come early or after noon time. Also, cash only, so make sure you go to the ATM before you arrive; they do have one on-site, just in case. My latest visit saw me enjoy chocolate chip pancakes, with bacon and eggs. It was glorious to the last bite, especially, the pancakes. Given that I was about to go on a 3-week food detox, I enjoyed every morsel. The diner has a great down-to-earth vibe, with friendly, accommodating staff who are fast to fill your coffee cup and make sure you have what you need. The interior is old school wooden booths, with a counter for individual seating. You don't see diners like this anymore that you see more often in small towns in mid-America than down here in South Florida with all the artisan and upscale restaurants serving brunch. read more

It has a complete menu (breakfast, lunch), and the food and service are what one would expect. That is good and fast.
