Giving so many stars only because the rest of the group enjoyed it. We went there later in the day so the fog had already set and there was no visibility but still decided to get on the group rides . My party ended being on a separate buggy and I was put with other strangers due to availability. It would have been fine if only the three year old didn't scream out her lungs through out the whole ride. It was pretty miserable hearing a child screams more than the engine of this thing. They couldn't do more fun maneuvers like the other buggies with the group because this inadequate thinking family decided to kill their three year old. At the end of the trip kid was knocked out like it passed out and red almost to purple because couldn't take a breath from screaming. The worst way I spent $35 , I should have been paid for that torture. read more

Went on the 1 hour sandrail ride and had a blast our driver Ben made the ride a very fun experience He was very nice and definitely knew how to drive the sandrail to make the ride be as fun as possible only advice i would give to the company is to let people know on the phone when they book that you check in on hwy 101 and then drive down the road just past the thousand trails resort to catch your ride but thats just something small we still had a great time Highly recommend paying for the 1 hr ride over the 30 minute ride you will have so much fun that its worth the extra money to be on the dunes for a hour. read more

Soooo much fun!! Dan was our driver and he made sure we all had a blast. He was knowledgable about the dunes and gave us fun little facts along the way. Prepare to be covered in sand by the end of the ride...and I mean COVERED! It was an adrenaline rush that I would do over and over again if possible. My only negative was that it ended too soon! we had people of all sizes ranging in age from 4 to 66. Everyone loved it!! Other than the sand rail tour, they also have a kiddie train ride, bumper boats, race cars for kids and mini golf. My 4 yr old had an afternoon of fun. read more

Now they have the dune buggy's follow each other, so you get to breath gas exhaust and get extra sand thrown in your face. And the cars in the back miss out on a lot of speed and fun, because the drivers have to worry more about following the car in front, and not able to drive fast, and make the ride fun. And they just jacked up the price an extra 15 bucks per rider. It kills be that I paid over 270 dollars on this ride. I will be warning the guests at my hotel not to go there, instead of referring them, like I used too. It was really fun the first time. The second two times were extremely disappointing. I DO NOT recommend....... this is after reading your reply. You did increase your prices. It used to be 50.00. Now it's 65.00. And I've been on this tour 3 times now and we were NEVER stuck behind another car. And the gas fumes and extra sand from the car in front of us was never a problem. It wasn't abnormally windy. I'm from here, so you can't try to say it was extra windy. It was sand flying from the car in front of us. Your tours suck now. And you can add condescending customer service to my review now. What a rip off. And like I said, I will warn our hotel guests to avoid this place. And they wouldn't have to worry about " passing each other," if they weren't following each other. read more

They have these stripped down school buses. No walls, but a big ol' roll bar. Essentially a mother of a dune buggy. 40 people can fit in one of these things. Now, they dont go all that fast, but without the illusion of having vehicle walls around you, it seems faster than it might. Most of the tour is driving around the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area and seeing the sights. There were about three times when the driver turned the giant buggy over a large sand dune and nosed almost straight down. The exciting thing about this that differs from a roller coaster is that on a coaster, you are on tracks. Afixed. On a giant dune buggy, there is no guarantee that it wont flip and end up face down in the sand. If the tour was more of the dune riding, it would rate it higher. Unfortunately, it is aimed at tourists who may never have seen dunes, tree islands, the Pacific Northwest or a couple thousand people riding ATVs wearing stuff with the Fox logo. So they take it slow most of the time. I did see smaller buggy rides that seated about four racing about. Maybe next time I'll try one of those and amend my rating. read more

My family and I went on the school bus looking buggy with no walls. It was a lot of fun, very windy though. So bring your blankets, and hoodies. It was fun going out on the dunes and seeing people on their ATV's. They do have smaller dune buggy's that you could get that fit maybe 4 or so, but on the way back we heard there were some injured people out there on those. So I think if we go back we won't be riding in one of those. We did have some times where we went down some large hills which was like a roller coaster my Aunt has some pretty funny pictures of us getting scared! =0) read more

We just showed up ready to spend nearly $200 for three of us on a one hour sand rail tour of the Oregon Dunes. The lady at the counter took a quick glance at her schedule book and then said, Sorry nothing until 1:30. The current time was 9:30. So, we took our cash straight to their competitor, Sand Dunes Frontier, who gladly accepted our money and promptly loaded us into a sand rail. If I was the Owner of Sandland, i would be more engaged in my business so that there would be adequate resources to handle the demand when there is a very rare, almost 80 degree day on the Oregon Coast and demand will obviously be high. read more

Amazing!!! We went on the hour long tour with Alex and he was great. The hour flew by faster than the air on our 70 mph tour of the beach and oregon dunes. Drifting and zooming over the sand dunes, we never actually caught air but had a blast the entire time! At the end Alex gave me a shell from the beach which was a wonderful memento of the occasion, he said he worked his way up for a while before he got the job and it's evident he loves it as much as we did! read more

This is sand in your face at various speeds, viewing the best God's hand has to offer on 2 miles of just sand. Worth every minute and penny! Our 1 hour sandrail dune buggy tour was the best thing we did on our Oregon coast vacation. Definitely do the fast sandrail dune buggy tour (not the big slow tour) and the 1 hour length is worth the extra money. Our driver was great and very knowledgeable about the dunes, but mostly he just drove very fast. We flew all over the dunes and made the ATVs look like they were standing still. They give you goggles for the sand, but I would also advise wearing a light jacket or sweatshirt as sand is flying everywhere. It was a ton of fun and I would highly recommend it. read more

I cannot say enough about the 1-hour Sandrail Dune Buggy adventure that we booked through Sandland Adventures! We truly had a blast. What a blast!! We only got the 30 minute tour and will definitely get the hour next time. Did some crazy hill climbs and descents. I'm covered from head to toe in sand but that's how you know it was a good tour!! I'm glad I wore a head band to cover my ears but wished a word something to cover ny mouth. The ride was nice. But our dune buggy broke 10 min into tour. But no replacement buggy was sent. We were stranded for an hour and 15 min. After an hour into it, we got a rude reply from the driver when asked about how much longer it would take to resume. And then another bad experience at the ticket counter. Sometimes it is not just about the ride but the overall experience. Customer service needs improvement (though a couple other experienced ones were really nice). I would give it 4 or 5 stars if not for my encounter with couple of these folks. read more

Showed up around 2:00 excited to go on a sand dune ride. We were told by the front desk attendant that the next tour didn't leave until 3 and that was only if ten people signed up. We sat in the parking lot for an hour only to be told that they wouldn't take us. The front desk attendant did not seem very remorseful about it. Mike was our driver and he was top notch! We had our 10 year old and 4 year old with us and he took special care to make sure they were not just comfortable, but having a great time. When he realized the kids were loving it, he didn't hold back! Always checking to make sure they were still fully enjoying every aspect of the experience! Holy Freaking Cow! What a great time! Did the one hour fast and furious ride and had an absolutely great time. We had 5 adults and 6 childern so we had to take two buggies which made it even more fun because we could see what we were in for as the other buggy disapeared from site. Matt was our driver and definitely gave us a wonderful ride. About half the ride was slow and informative about the region and sand dunes as well as a cruise down the beach and the other 30 minutes was balls to the wall, outragously thrilling fun! read more

I think the half hour tour was just long enough, and it's worth the price! In case you can't tell, this (the sandrail) really has the intensity of a roller coaster, with some breathtaking scenic views to boot. Sean said he was pushing 70 mph. Alex was a wonderful dune buggy driver! What an incredible adventure and experience. We took the 1 hour extreme dune buggy tour, that included the beach. Fast and furious was tons of fun, since we were covered from head to toe including face bandanas. A seriously one of a kind thrill ride with lots of motion: twists, turns and zooming up, down and around. Be prepared! Eat light, no drugs, no alcohol ...or else take the other tours. Sandland Adventures provides you with most fun you can have on the sand while giving you an informational tour about the sand dunes! You must take a Sandrail ride here. We had a great driver and because our rail was filled with all adults, he really was able let loose. It is so much fun getting to see the dunes in Florence. If you can call ahead and reserve a spot. We haven't done the big blue buggy but it's better for small children and people without health problems. It slowly takes you around the dunes. Put this on your bucket list this summer!!! read more
