This was an awesome tour! We were greeted by our driver Dan who was very calm and professional (but threw in some good humour to keep thing light). Dan is an excellent driver who can make that buggy do things that you wouldn't think such a large vehicle could do. I have to admit to feeling pretty sick after the tour, even though I took 2 gravol before heading out. My wife (and the family of 4 who were in our car) felt totally fine though. I would highly recommend taking this tour if you want to have a few good scares and a lot of fun; just don't forget the gravol if you have a wimpy tummy like mine! read more

We played golf here 4 times in one week. It was so much fun! Only 7$ each. The weather was nice too! The dune buggy was fun . I was scared it would be rough but it was very mild and safe. What a nice way to see the dunes. If you want more excitement -ride the sand rail. What a fun place with bumper boats, go- carts, mini golf, and train. Kids as well as adults can have fun here! Amazing experience! I had no idea this place existed when my girlfriend and I drove past Sandland Adventures on our way to Seattle. We called last minute, and they fit us into the last tour if the day. Our guide was a great driver. He was very safe, always knowing where all the kids on 4 wheelers were lurking. He also reached speeds of 60mph, giving us an exhilarating ride. I definitely recommend this for anyone. read more

Wicked Awesome!! My family and I had a fantastic time here. The tour of the dunes was a blast and we are planning a return trip in the future so we can go on the faster dune buggy ride as well. We also went on the train ride which was fun but more fun for little kids, and we played a really fun round of mini golf on a very well designed coarse. They also have bumper boats and go-carts so there's quite a few hours of fun to have at this location. This is highly recommended. Reservations for the dune buggy rides are recommended as well read more

So. Much. Fun! So glad we booked the Sandrail for our trip, it wouldn't have been the same without it! The kids, 9 & 13, said it has been the best part of their summer. Us bigger kids have to agree. What a blast! Our driver, Mike, was amazing and didn't fail to thrill us all. Highly recommended! As hard as it is, try not to hoot or grin too much during the ride or you'll be eating sand for breakfast. We'll definitely be back on our next trip! read more

Great time! We did the one hour tour that includes dunes and the beach. It was worth every penny! Our driver was Michael but they all seemed nice. They are interested in your experience and safety. I'm sure we were traveling 50 miles an hour at some points!!! Straight up straight down and can be a little bit bumpy probably not for you if you have back or neck issues.... we loved it!!! read more

We had an amazing time today! Chris was our driver and was great! There was enough OMG moments to make you question why you signed up for this. So fun though! My 13 & 10 year old boys loved it. We did the 30 minute ride in the smaller vehicle and were able to see the ocean and Honeyman State Park. You get goggles to protect your eyes and helmets required for under 18. read more

Horrible experience. Paid for mini golf asked if we can bring our small dog with us, cashier said yes. We go out to golf and are told no dogs can't be on the premises. We explain we were told it was ok, they radio in and say no we can't have him. When I go back to the cashier she says "I never told you that a dog was ok" I said both my husband and I asked you. She said "oh I thought you said daughter not dog". Incredibly rude staff no one offered me a refund they just argued. Don't give them your money the place is a joke. Amazing experience! We called on a whim and they were very nice and accommodating. James, our driver, was very fast and fun, but made us feel safe. He was a fantastic guide and gave great information and stopped frequently for great photo opportunities. Not only was he informative about the area, he took pictures for us, drove like crazy (but never to where it felt unsafe.) the buggies are really well built and fast. Knowledgeable about the dunes, happy to answer any and all questions we had, and great with the kids on our tour. If you only have time and money to do one thing on the Oregon Coast, come here and take a sand rail ride....8 seats and a driver. Crazy fast ride up and down and all around the dunes. Wow. We took a 30 minute fast tour in one of the smaller (3 rows of seats) vehicles. I was expecting it to be a little lame but it was fantastic. The speed was exhilarating and the drop-offs and turns were wild. It's like being on a roller coaster except that you are never sure where the driver is going to take you next. Wish I could do it again but we have to head North. Recommended. read more

An adventure was had by my spouse and me on our recent trip to the Central Oregon Coast. We took the "scenic" dune buggy tour. Yes, it's looks like a "kind of school bus" dune buggy - won't seat 40 - as prior person said, but does seat about 25. I suppose if they were all kids you might get more in to the buggy. At $12 for an hour's tour - it is fun and exhilaration. You'll go up and "down" steeply several dunes, plus you get to ride along the beach part of the tour. Do dress warmly - it's cold as you clip along and the breeze off the water is cool. They indicate windbreakers, scarves, hats, etc. They are serious! Take your camera. The kids on our tour had a blast and we did too! I'd recommend this to anyone who feels the actual smaller dune buggy may be a little too much risk or excitement - Most of the kids had a blast - only one little girl was scared - just her temperament I think! read more

My family of four signed up for the "Big" dune ride however someone who had made a reservation for four decided not to show up. As there were only us and another two people who had paid for the ride they offered to have us go on the smaller, faster dune buggy instead for the same price (they kindly explained taking the big one out for six people wasn't cost effective for them- understandably so). This was the coolest thing that could have happened! I grew up riding the dunes on 3 wheel ATVs in the 80's and we used to make fun of the people on the big bus buggy. My family thoroughly enjoyed the dune buggy ride. It was fast, we got to see a lot of the dunes, our driver was way fun and super nice. Unless you are 90 or really afraid of going fast up and down hills opt for the smaller/faster dune buggy ride. It costs a little more but well worth it. read more

Ditto Mr. B's July 17 review. The ride was fun. But our dune buggy broke down 10 min into tour. It took over a half over to get a replacement buggy was sent. The driver wanted to stop and fix the broken one! When we asked to rotate the person who could sit in front, he refused outright although it would have been easy to do--just adjust a harness. And we stopped enough times it would have been easy. The driver basically ignored us during the ride and gave preferential treatment to the family that walked on at the last minute. Plus, no apology or offer of a credit, a free game of mini golf or even a free bottle of water for wasting our time waiting. For $63/head that's pretty rude. Lots of little kids go on this, so it's not as adventurous as you might think. I would try one of the other tour companies next time. read more

Awful customer service. They yelled at me! We booked for our family of 3 and arrived at 11am for an 11.30 dune buggy tour. Small problem - by mistake we were at Sand Dunes Frontier down the highway. We made it to Sandland shortly after 11.30 but we had missed the ride. We explained what had happened but the two women behind the desk said 'that's what a reservation is', refused to do anything to help and were completely unsympathetic (while my 2 and 4 year olds looked like they were about to cry). They rudely told me that we could go on a buggy ride 'if you pay again'. So nasty. They yelled at me in front of a room full of customers. Go to Sand Dunes Frontier. Michelle there actually apologized for not working out we were at the wrong place in time to send us to Sandland. And the buggy ride was awesome! read more

Worst customer service EVER. After following the instructions that they gave me. We drove our kids to to their location after taking them to see the Newport Aquarium. Per their instructions, they told us to wait on the reservations and to call them when we left the aquarium and they would take our reservation at that time, as to avoid a no show and be charged regardless. So we did. Only they did not answer the phone, so we left a message and continued to call them the entire 2 hour drive from Newport....they still never answered. So after the 2 hour drive we get there and they tell us that they are sold out and they were too busy to answer the phone???? Then why tell us to call???? The gals in there said "Oh well, we're busy" Not even an appology, that was just it. A wasted 2 hour drive and crying kids. HOWEVER.....just down the street is Frontier Sand Dunes. They were nice and accomodating and made sure that the kids got to go out on a ride. The driver was great, funny and the kids had a blast. Don't waste your time at Sandland....just head down the street another 2-3 miles...IT WILL BE WELL WORTH IT!!!! Sandland for lack of a better word.......SUCKS! read more

My boyfriend and I had an incredible time on the fast tour. The woman at the front desk (who was extremely friendly, perhaps not the same person as the one another reviewer had trouble with) described it as, "something like a 30 minute roller coaster ride." It was a little bit less stomach-boggling than a roller coaster, but only a little bit. The views were inspiring, and our driver (Dustin) made us feel extremely safe as we flew over the sand from 300+ foot peak to 300+ foot peak at invigorating speeds. We thought we got a much better experience on the dunes than we would have if we'd rented vehicles ourselves, and I highly HIGHLY recommend the fast tour. read more

Just being able to see the thousands of acres of sand dunes silhouetted against the Pacific Ocean and pine trees will take your breath away, if skirting across miles of perfectly white sand full of turns and drops doesn't do the trick. Skip the big blue sand dune buggy full of seniors (seriously, bus loads of them show up for it) and turn your vacation into a real adventure. This was the highlight of our Oregon travels! read more

Came to Florence for a family vacation with two other families. We all came here multiple times and spent quite a bit of money on over priced activities but it kept the kids entertained. My 2 year old daughter broke a glass ball in their gift shop. Mind you, I understand the concept you break it you buy it but not only have we spent tons of money here but activity places such as these have to have insurance to cover things. Not only that but at a "family" fun center you shouldn't have shiny glass items on upside down crates just asking for children to touch. The lady made my husband purchase the broken glass ball even though we were still going to pay another $30 for three rides. read more
