Stopped by to get some good breakfast. The pancakes were fluffy, moist and overall delicious. Scrambled eggs and ham are good, hash browns were crispy, flaky with butter flavor. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, helpful and courteous. The restaurant's wall decor is quite unique and funny to view and bring a smile to your face. Their staff make you feel comfortable almost like home.

Clearly a local favorite, based upon the number of cars out front. Service: Top notch! Server is friendly and fast! Food: How else do you describe amazing? French toast, 1" thick home made pancakeish style. Hievos Rancheros, amazing beens and hash brown with egg over a corn tortilla, pancakes, sausage, biscuits, and gravy (home made amazingness). Just can't say enough! Atmosphere: small clean local little dinner style restaurant. The only cons, it was a little tight for a crowd of seven and the bathroom is a single.

Unlike many locally run restaurants, Sandra's Place is open on Sundays. Food is enjoyable. The red chili can use a bit more smokiness. The size of the pork steak in the breakfast menu is pigging out huge. I love the sarcastic signs on the wall. No need to shut up, keep your heads down and eat quickly. The people here are really very nice.

Huevos Rancheros with green and red sauce, and scrumptious pancake! Bacon n eggs plate behind that

Passing through Gallup NM and found this little gem. Now if I hadn't looked up breakfast stops I'd would hand down NOT have stopped. DO NOT LET THE HOLE IN THE EXTERIOR Stop you!!!! Please stop And enjoy some amazing, traditional home cook New Mexico style food. The pancake was 2nd best that I have EVER had!! Only 1 other beats it, and I'm extremely tough on my Pancakes so the 2place in my book is huge!! I had the Huevos Rancheros. Couldn't decide on red chili or green to cover my eggs so I had both. Yummy! Both were extremely tasty! No regrets there. Beans were absolutely tasty- no cheese, just home cooked frijoles de olla which was seasoned to perfection. Hubby had the traditional eggs n bacon. Oh, and the hash browns were buttery goodness. The atmosphere was like you stepped into your family's kitchen with your cousins whippin up breakfast. Such beautiful ladies and so kind. 2 fulfilling breakfast $27. Can't beat that! And the locals, all just good positive energy!

We really enjoyed this very small place. Friendly, quick service and good food. Green chili, sour cream cheese omelette was good, but I wish it had more chili because it was good. Huevos rancheros we're great with red / green sauce (Christmas). The huge tortilla is too doughy, just get the regular tortillas. Plus it's like $2.29 extra. Great coffee too! Stop in for breakfast or lunch when in Gallup! Support these small family businesses!

A small place with great food. As soon as we walked in and we were greeted by hostess. We sat quickly with a party of 7. The only large table for a big party. Nice A/C inside keeping it cool. Waitress was very attentive to us and the food was hot and good. Pancakes are huge, son had chicken fried steak and I had a bite. It was really good, crispy on the outside nice and hot. Gravy as good with a nice taste. Would recommend this place to people traveling through. We now have a spot when traveling through to Texas.

After driving across 5 states and eating breakfast daily, I finally found a truly wonderful New Mexico style breakfast at Sandra's. I had a breakfast burrito smothered with half red and half green chili, stuffed with ham, egg, potato, and cheese along with a side of pinto beans. It was exactly what I was looking for. I added a flour tortilla at the end to finish up the beans and leftover sauce and almost broke into tears because the homemade tortillas were like my dad used to make. Service was fast and courteous, and while the seating area is small and very old-style diner-like, it was comfortable in both the summer and winter. I drive through Gallup 3 or 4 times a year and will be back every time I'm in town for sure. EDIT 2023: been back 2 more times and had the Huevos rancheros each time which was fantastic. It remains my number one restaurant in New Mexico. The food is wonderful and brings back so many memories. EDIT Summer 2024: got back again and had the enchiladas and eggs special. Fantastic. EDIT Winter 2024: Huevos Rancheros hit the spot on a cold New Mexico morning.

Old fashioned diner inside, clean with fun signs. Even the police eat here. Service was friendly, smiles from all, checked on often. French toast was done uniquely and the oatmeal delicious. Cinnamon toast perfect. Coffee just the way my hubby likes it. We'll be back.

By That time we had made other plans, as the drive to El Morro without a confirmation that we had a place to stay was just too big of a risk. El Morro's failure to follow through on our reservation as they said that they would, along with the total inability to contact someone at the site that had a clue as to what was going on caused us to miss spending time with friends that we had not seen in over 30 years. First, they used quality beef, hand-formed snd smashed, so I love the texture of the patties and the way they were cooked. Buns were buttered and toasted on the grill lightly. Fries were decent. The only downside was that I could not taste the bourbon on my burger, but the feta and onions were on point. We also tried the strawberry lemonade - perfect - not too sweet.
