This small shop is a home run- Sandrita prepares each sandwich carefully and with love. My Cuban was without a doubt, the best Cuban I have had. The pork melted in my mouth and the ratios of ham, pork, cheese, mustard were perfect. Next time I am in the Tampa area, I'll make sure to stop by. Absolutely love this place! I can't get enough. The sandwiches are so fresh. It takes about 10 minutes from the time order to receive your sandwich because nothing is premade. But it is absolutely worth the wait! Portion sizes are huge, regardless of the limited menu. Enjoy a fresh Café con Leche also while you wait! The owners will greet you face-to-face every time you're in the store, and are so friendly and want to make sure your experience is top-notch. Definitely 5 stars to this small but very cozy restaurant with representative photos of Cuba and Colombia. From the moment you walk in, it smells absolutely delicious. It's super clean and the service is wonderful. The owner served us, and both he and the people who work there were super friendly. The shopping plaza where the restaurant is located looks very old, it as soon as you walk into Sandrita's it's a whole other vibe. The decor it bright and modern. Pleasant to sit and eat in. The staff were simply phenomenal. Friendly and inviting. Got to chat it up with Diego and connected quite a bit about childhood memories growing up with Colombian influence. The food was phenomenal! The Cuban was packed with meats, perfectly assembled and pressed, and one of the most delicious the wife and I have had in Tampa Bay... and we've tried many. Although I am not well versed on Cuban Sandwiches I wanted to have one and see if everything them is true. And Sandrita's did not disappoint me at all. I had the Cuban Sandwich. It was overloaded with the tastiest meats. The flavor was amazing. And the press of the Cuban bread was perfect. I loved the crisp of the taste. My sandwich came with Plantain Chips which my daughter ate them in the car. They did not make it home. lol. My daughter got the Elena Ruth. And according to her it was "finger lickin good!" Im so happy that I went to check out Sandrita's. I got to try their famous Cuban sandwich and feels like the first time in a long time where I was able to get a great colada. The sandwiches are enough for two people and it's delicious, definitely worth it. My main con with the sandwich is that is looks like they tried adding as much lechón as possible so some of the juices got to the bread and made it a bit soggy. The service was wonderful, very attentive and friendly. It was a bit busy when we arrived so glad that they went able to offer the same level of service even during a lunch rush. read more

The elusive search for the "perfect" Cuban Sandwich brought me to Sandrita's today. This small family run shop in a strip center on Waters Ave  boasts a 2nd place finish in the annual Ybor City Cuban Sandwich Festival. Hosted today by Sandrita and her husband, the product did not disappoint. The heavy laden Cuban Sandwich was a delicious treat with an amazing slow roasted pork that was moist and well flavored. The wife had the Turkey and Swiss, which she happily claimed as one of the best she had eaten. The crispy plantain chips were a perfect side and I relished the fact that they were not too salty, a common occurence in other places. While there, I heard rave reviews about their Chicken Soup which I will try on my next visit. Quality products carefully constructed with love is another reason it was so good. They have pride in their product and are excited to talk about it. I can definitely recommend this place, come get ya some! Regarding my search for the perfect Cuban, this one missed my mark. Despite being a superlative treat, it was more of a pork sandwich with ham and swiss. For me, the perfect balance of ingredients is what my definition entails. Wow what an amazing place... After hearing about this great little hot and new place in Tampa we had to check it out... Man hands down the best Cuban I have had in a long time!!! From the moment we walked in the door we were made to feel like family with some awesome Latin hospitality... Quick to fill us in on all the pertinent info on the menu items we choose some fresh fruit juices and ordered one of there made to order "Stacked" Miami style Cuban sandwiches. These sandwiches are piled high with tons of sweet ham and tender pulled mojo pork... The bread was press toasted perfectly giving you that perfect crunch with every bite..All I can say is it was pure bliss to my taste buds!!! The owners were friendly and great to chat with while we enjoyed our meal. We spoke about their Cuban family history and their ties to the Tampa and Miami areas. There are tons of nostalgic photos of Cuba taken by the owners grandfather decorating the place and giving it that perfect touch. Wow! I can't express enough how impressed we were woth this restaurant. The husband and wife took their time cooking love into our food and were so sweet to our little girl. She had her first cuban and did a happy dance to celebrate. The flavor was incredible, so happy we found our new and only spot to get a cuban. Love the simplicity of the space, there is only two table so if you do get there and no where to eat, the zoo is close to make a picnic out of your meal. The Cuban, The Elena Ruth, chicken soup, cafe con leche, and flan- all perfection! We were on the hunt for a good Cuban and after much research we found ourselves at Sandrita's in Tampa. (We live in the Sarasota area) Sandrita herself, her husband and a 3rd person were all cooking on the day we came in. All 3 were so welcoming. The owners are present and clearly run this place with much care and love. They had regulars popping in and you could just feel the genuine love they have for them. We felt more like guests in their home than some random strangers off the street. We were so happy with our food and still talking about it 3 days later. Visited Sandrita's with the whole family based on a tip from a friend. The spot is super cute, small, and *extremely* clean. We got to meet the owner, Diego, and mom Sandrita. The staff was super friendly and the food did not disappoint we got the sopa- tender chunks of chicken with sweet potato and veggies in a soup, the Cuban sandwich, and pan con lechon. The sandwiches were super, super thin and perfectly crisp in the best way and we also really loved the flavor of the soup- it tasted just like something my Cuban MIL would make. Tried it today for the first time due to all of the recommendations on Instagram. I know so many seem to like their food but maybe they were having a bad day. My daughter and I ordered two Cuban sandwiches which took 25 minutes to make. The sandwiches were extremely overloaded and because of it the bread was soggy and the sandwiches fell apart. Cuban sandwiches aren't meant to be overloaded, especially after they've been pressed. I wanted to support a local business but I hate to say I don't recommend. read more

I have eaten thousands of Cuban sandwiches all over--I've even baked my own Cuban bread--and this place is in the top 3, and one of the others is my grandparents' kitchen. And bear in mind that my preference is a Tampa-style Cuban sandwich with salami. But you put that Miami-style in some Tampa bread, and it's excellent, especially when you put tons of meat in it. There is so much in their Cuban that I could eat just one half, and I make the effort to eat the second one because it's so delicious. This is not like some places where you'll leave and still need a snack an hour later. They cut it on that super diagonal, press it perfectly--every single time--and it's ready to go! It has just the right crunch with no burned areas. And that's no matter who makes it there. The owners are super nice people, and very friendly! The place is great and clean. There's a perfectly large window that lets in lots of natural light, so it's a great spot. It's also an excellent place if you speak Spanish or English, or more commonly--Spanglish. As someone who's hispanic but was never taught Spanish by my family, I appreciate that I can switch to English if I need to without being laughed at.
