I recently had a business meeting breakfast at Sandy's for the first time and I was very please with my experience. When you walk in you are immediately greeted with a smile from Sandy herself and the cozy atmosphere is very warm & inviting. Can tell by the crowds that flock to Sandy's that the food must be wonderful. I recently started getting home cooked meals that they have to take out , my wife isn't well and we find it hard to get out to eat anymore. The takeout meals are available in about 11 varieties , 3 minutes in microwave and ready to eat. Every one we have tried is absolutely delicious and a very generous portion. This place is awesome for a simple breakfast most people don't know too much about these days. It's kitch with nik naks everywhere but I like that kind of atmosphere when I'm having my breakfast. You're always seated with a smile and the wait staff sincerely care about who you are and where your from like Aunt B's place or diners that know you are there to eat great food and bolt!! I ordered an egg over easy with a side of bacon which came out hot and ready to eat. It's all inclusive so hash browns and toast were readily available and came with a $4.25 price which for me is pennies for a great American breakfast!! Sandy the owner is a working owner who genuinely cares about her patrons as on many occasions I've seen the local police force dine here in droves. This place rocks because it doesn't forget how simple it is to fry an egg but it executes the best customer service imaginable. OK, I give it 4 stars since they are a good, simple restaurant with friendly service and very good food for not much money. Thursdays nites are karaoke nites just as a heads up to you (I don't care for karaoke specially if the music is for the senior citizen crowd but you might like Sinatra and all). Lo and behold.....they're open for dinner Thursdays through Saturday!! Down we say. Great menu and an even better specials menu! My lady had the pot roast and I had chicken fried steak and biscuits smothered in gravy! Portions are nice sized. Both were from the specials and for 15.95 included soup or salad, vegetable, potato or pasta, beverage and dessert! Neither of us were able to finish the meal..not for lack of desire but simply a lot of great food! To top it off, Thursday night is Kareoke night. This is a really cute little diner! If you're under 60, you'll probably be the youngest person eating here, but don't let that keep you from trying it. The food is great and the service exceptionally friendly. I haven't stopped in for dinner since they extended their hours, but I love coming in for brunch. The sweet potato pancakes are delicious, and I'm a big fan of their veggie wraps. We saw the menu and ordered classic hamburger and onion rings. The price on the internet menu for the classic Berger was 6.95$ and the onion rings were $3.95. We visited Sandy 's cozy corner this past Friday for a late lunch and celebrate again my birthday. We truly enjoyed our meal as usual. One of our favorite 's Sandy's special called French Dip, it's roast beef on a garlic sub roll , served with dipping sauce and either French fries or potato salad ,coleslaw and dill pickle wedge. Delicious, I had diet soda, my wife had Raspberry iced tea. We added a little horseradish sauce to our sandwich's . Perfect , but so filling she ended up bringing home some of her potato salad. They have a great menu. This is a place you can always rely on for a good meal. Love the breakfast menu too Home style in every sense of the word. This is our go to place. Friendly staff and warm atmosphere. They also have a counter , and booths or tables for seating. Cute trinkets, take out foods. Saw the sign out front for their biscuits and gravy and had to give it a whirl. We were seated promptly despite that fact that it was a busy Sunday morning. Good coffee was served from a carafe and left on the table which is nice since you don't have to ask for refills. The biscuits and gravy were just Ok and rather plain. Not much seasoning and very little sasauge. The onion home fries however were excellent. We ordered a spinach and onion omelette that too was just Ok. A small portion of fries came with it which unfortunately were cold. Sandy was well known to the regulars and occasionally made rounds about the room. read more

Sandy's in on the right as you head to the Seaside Peninsula on Route 70/37 between the two traffic circles in Lakehurst and a great place to stop for a hearty, tasty and very reasonably priced meal. The service is friendly and fast. If you come during meal hours (say noon to 1:30 pm), you might have a wait, so allow for it - because it's worth it. The food isn't quite gourmet (though some might qualify), but its always good. The parking is probably full in the front but there is a parking lot on the east side and street parking. I've never had a bad meal here. read more
