    Greek Platter with Chicken Souvlaki
    Janyn Q.

Location: located in a square with many parking spaces. When we first went in, we thought we found the wrong place. We read this was "Greek" but the vibe here is completely retro American diner/bar Food: I appreciate there were platters where you can try multiple types of food. Their most popular is the Spinach Pie and usually is out of stock. This was really good. The feta with the spinach was a good combination. I have to say, it was slightly an acquired taste. When I took my first bite, I couldn't decide if I liked it or not but after my second, I got taken with it especially when it came with huge chunks of feta. The chicken was seasoned and cooked well and the salad seemed average to me, with a balsamic-based sauce. The pita with tzatziki was actually a good combo to me. Service: our waitress was really nice and bubbly. She was super helpful in helping us get the Platter of the things we wanted to try. The wait wasn't long either.

Sandy's Place is a quaint little Greek restaurant. The servers are nice, the patrons love it. As I walked in, a lady at the counter asked the bartender for a favor, amd then I saw a head nod. One other lady was talking to one of the servers as she left; they just stood there and caught up. It gave me the feeling that this is a neighborhood, I-grew-up-with-that-place kind of eatery. It is sonessy to drive by this place, as it has a neon sign out front, it is tucked away in the plaza behind El Indio 2...you'll see it. I just needed something nice to hit that spot in my tummy! A gyro and fries seemed perfect. I ordered, and sat around and played on my phone for a bit, while my food was made fresh. The sandwich was hot and thr fries were right oitta the oil! Wow! Love that aroma! This place seems like it could be a date place, or even a gathering of friends! A nice way to eat and relax and have something satisfying that is not a burger! The fries were amazing!! Crinckle cut, but big! Yum!

Best place to go if you don't eat red meat. Their portion of chicken is huge, you will not go hungry eating here!

It's the kind of dish you take one bite of and immediately plot your next visit. And the side dishes...oh my goodness. Usually you have a "favorite" side and a "meh" side, but here, every single one was a star in its own right. Creamy, vibrant, tangy, savory, each had its own personality and every bite made me do a little happy dance. Honestly, it's rare to find a place where the sides are just as memorable as the main course, but Tinker nails it. The atmosphere was warm, the service was wonderful, and by the end of the meal everyone basically grinning like a kid at their birthday party. The Tres Leche cake was insanely good! If you haven't been yet, go. And if you have you already know you're overdue for another plate! It was really that good!

I've driven by many times and through the smoked glass it looked like chairs or something else was stored behind it and I though it had closed. The service was very good, prompt but not over attentive! The selection of Beers was outstanding! I had a starter of what was billed as Chupe De Pollo, (chicken chowder), it had very thick broth and was chocked full of chicken. Chicken breast was used and although there was a lot it was very dry and the broth was more like a heavy veloute. It also did not have much flavor. I won't be ordering that a again. My wife and I had Empanadas, mine was shredded beef and hers shredded chicken. I could have used a bit more sauce for dipping. The shell was quite crisp but not greasy. But all and all it was good. Our friend had the vegetarian arepas and let me taste some, it was quite good. She finished the whole dish! We also shared the loaded fries which came out hot with an interesting sauce drizzled over it. We didn't have the bacon on it as our friend is vegetarian. That would have made it even better for me. All in all it was a fun experience and we'll be going back.

I'm from Miami where good Latin food is basically on every corner fighting for your attention so my expectations were HIGH. I decided to gamble on DoorDash and stumbled across this Colombian spot. Dear Jesus what have I been missing? First, I ordered the tostones with chicharrón and let me tell you those pork pieces were crunching louder than my knees getting out of bed in the morning. Absolutely amazing. Then came the breakfast plate with rice and beans, scrambled eggs, and steak. That steak was so good I almost stood up in my hotel room and started singing romantic Spanish ballads to the container. At this point, I'm not even ashamed to admit I'm probably ordering from this same place again tomorrow and maybe the next day too while I'm here working. The staff was very helpful and helped us choose items from the menu. The inside was busy and we sat at a booth. We were glad we made reservations as without them a seat might have been a challenge. They were crispy on the outside, warm on the inside, and filled with flavorful meat. The sauces paired perfectly with them and made an already great appetizer even better. For my entrée, I ordered the Bandeja Paisa, and it did not disappoint. The meats were the star of the plate. Everything was juicy, cooked perfectly, and seasoned just enough without being overpowering. The steak was surprisingly tender despite being well done, with just the right amount of fat. The sausage had a great snap, the egg was perfectly jammy, and the chicharrón was absolutely incredible--crispy, crunchy, and easily one of the best I've had. I didn't try the sweet plantains since I'm not a fan and they couldn't be substituted. The arepa was good, although nothing particularly memorable. The only parts of the meal I wasn't impressed with were the rice, which was a bit too salty for my taste, and the beans, which lacked flavor and were underwhelming. For dessert, I tried both the tiramisu and the chocolate cake. The tiramisu was just okay--it wasn't bad, but it didn't stand out, and I wouldn't order it again. The chocolate cake, however, was outstanding. It was incredibly moist, rich without being overly sweet, and the perfect way to end the meal. Overall, Salento does an amazing job with their meats, and that's what I'd recommend most. While a couple of the sides and one dessert didn't quite hit the mark for me, the empanadas, Bandeja Paisa, chicharrón, and chocolate cake were all excellent. The service was amazing everyone was attentive and there to help and the ambiance was very calm and homey to me. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu.
