One member of our group walks with a cane so the hostess put us at the farthest table in the restaurant from the door. Once the food was served, the waitress virtually ignored us except to see how the food was. The disabled person actually got up and got the go box and containers after asking for them. BTW, those items were directly behind our table. Once th e waitress realized what happened we waited 12 minutes before she brought the check. The manager checked the tables next to us and acted like we were taking up room and he frowned at us, never asking if we needed anything. He also turned his head as we left. Needless to say, the small tip was left which is interesting since I generally leave a 40 - 100 % tip. We will not be returning since the service and attitude was horrendous. read more

Ok, so I didn't like this place when we first moved here. We ordered apps or something and everything was so salty it burnt my mouth but since covid started, we have been ordering to go orders from restaurants we haven't been to before. A friend recommended their wings so we gave them another shot and wow! The wings are huge and very flavorful. You also receive a huge portion for the price. Haven't really tried other menu items yet, but we'll definitely be ordering other things once we're done with our wing fix! read more

This place has been on a down hill slide for several years. In times past it was always packed, now very few folks are there. No surprise, the menu is almost illegible, different fonts and type faces on a colored background. None of the heading seem to reflect what the dish is. This used to be a place you could get a cheeseburger, Rueben or steak. Now, everything is yuppiefied, all the dishes are slathered with discordant sauces and seasonings so that nothing on the menu appealed to me. Indeed, description repulsed me; I wouldn't order it because I knew I wouldn't eat it and end up taking it home to my dog. Why they think I want a steak with honey butter or blue cheese on it is beyond me. Thought of asking for a plain old cheeseburger and fries but decided against it. Even a regular Rueben was changed to some strange concoction, yuk. Sanford's needs a top down house cleaning from a readable menu to normal food and new management. Until then I will never go back. read more

This place is really pretty absurd, and it would never be my regular hangout, but it's a fun spot that's worth a visit every once in a while. Every single thing is huge, from the menu to the portions to the silverware. The walls are covered with decor and there are several TVs--it's definitely a good place to post up for a game. The drink list is extensive and they have several Colorado beers, which is a plus when visiting from out of town. When your food comes, prepare to wonder how to even begin...once you manage to stuff whatever eight decker sandwich you ordered into your mouth, you'll be pretty pleased. It's not the very best food I've had, but it's good and I've never had a bad meal here. The onion rings are a favorite of mine! Service was really good the last time I was here and the prices are decent, especially when you consider that one meal should keep you fed for a day or two! read more

Horrible!!!! Don't order the catfish and chips. The catfish tasted too fishy (I'm from the south, so I know good catfish). The fish was over cooked, the fries were over seasoned, tasted cold and hard. My biscuit was basically a hockey puck and the tartar sauce had way too much mayo...no balance of flavor. The only thing that didn't taste gross was the honey butter. My husband literally left after a couple bites of food and went and got fast food. While doing a cross country trip we stopped to have dinner at Sanford's. They have a superb selection of local micro brews which coupled with the altitude of Cheyenne makes for a heady mix. I have the pants on fire burger which I recommend with sugar drizzled sweet potato fries to balance the heat. My buddy had the patty melt and gave both thumbs up for both it and the onion rings. The food here is "acceptable". If you have a large appetite, this is your place. Their meals are very large. I either share a meal or take home 2/3rds of my meal to have two more portions at home. From the host/hostess to the wait staff the experience leaves a lot to be desired. No greeting with a smile or attentiveness in service. The kitchen does well in getting food out quickly. My family and I have been going here off and on for several years. We first started before moving to Cheyenne and continue to go now that we live here. You get what you see at this place. The staff has always been friendly to us. They have a great selection of burgers and other American style fair. The bar and beer selection are one of the best in town in our opinion. My family and I think the food is good which is why we keep going back. The décor is cool in my opinion and I like looking at the old pictures and trying to remember who the people are. It can be loud and it can be crowded but, neither are enough to keep us away. First, I'd like to point out that this is a five star place but I'm only giving it four because of a single recurring issue: they can't get my kids' Mac n cheese right. Been here 3 times now, and 3 times I've had to send back macaroni soup. They can't follow the directions on the instant Mac they're obviously using and keep adding too much water. It's a shame considering how good so many other things are here like their Cajun ribs, amazing burgers, fried green beans, etc. I would carry on more but everything has exotic names and I'm still too new to Sanford's to have any of them memorized.
