They had a winter special meal for 2 for $35. Its was a nice meal with variety. The sangji-bao was amazing, which is their signature dish. The potato salad and mochi dessert was yummy. The duck noodle and tofu was ok. There was a lot of food we couldnt finish. So we packed it home. I would definitely come back for the sangji-bao again. If you pay cash you get 10% off your bill. However, cash discounts don't apply to the special meals deals.

The service is quick and prompt, there is lots of seating as well. You can watch the kitchen staff work if you sit by the bar seats. We got the truffle bao and the original pork! It's good to rotate the two flavours. The wontons aren't too big, but it has a good bite. I forgot to take a picture of the wontons; it does not come with noodles! The restaurant is clean and every table comes with utensils and water to serve yourself.

I came here on a weekday evening for dinner and the place was busy. Luckily, we did not have to wait for a table and were seated right away. The service was good and the food came out fast. We got their Wednesday special which was around $40 after tax, and included: fish noodle soup, sang-ji bao, potato salad, coleslaw salad, brown sugar mochi and two drinks. This was the perfect amount for two people. Everything was so good! My favourite was the fish soup noodle. It's loaded with fish and calamari. The broth was hearty, the right amount of fishy-ness with a blend of pepper. It was topped off with a few pieces of bamboo shoots. My second favourite was surprisingly the potato salad. I don't think I saw this on their actual menu but I would easily order this again if I could. It was a perfect blend of potato, onions, carrots, ham. Couldn't figure out the seasoning they used but it was delicious and creamy! The sang-ji bao were really crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside. The coleslaw salad was a good balance to the meal. The fried brown sugar mochi came in portions of three and even though we ate this at the end, they were still really crispy and oozed with melted brown sugar. I got a cold and hot sweetened soy milk which was average, I probably would go with another drink next time. They only take cash or debit. Overall, we left full and happy. I highly recommend and I will definitely come back!

Finally got to try this spot and it did not disappoint! Ordered the original, shrimp, and the truffle one. The outside bun was very cripsy, inside had a lot of stuffing, and it was very savoury. There was a lot of juice too so it made it me like it even more! The service was quick and the price was very decent too! The restaurant is pretty small so bigger groups of 6 or more would be tougher to seat; but the wait was not too long. Fantastic spot for a quick meal or snack! Would come back to eat it again!

I have been wanting to try this place for years, heard great things about it. Ordered the original and the shrimp fried bao. Honestly, was not impressed. The quality of the meat is subpar , the taste was nothing impressive. The price is expensive for 4 pieces of bao. Glad I got to try it. There is lots of seating area. They accept cash or debit only. Paid parking is available on the street.

The original pork fried buns are amazing! The store is small but seats a lot of people. The service is quick. The shrimp bao has been added to the menu recently and is quite food.

It's top 10 Chinese dishes in my mind lol I still remember how it makes me feel so impressed when I first time tried it in Shanghai. For sure can't compare with very OG style in china, but still very juicy and tasty all in all. Like the original pork juicy sang ji bao, the bottom of the bread so crispy! Love it! Duck soup just 8/10, maybe because not that super fresh if you choice uber eats order instead dine-in. lol

My God, if these aren't the most GOATed sang jin baos in Toronto. I've been here SOO many times I've lost count. The baos are great as a snack or as a meal. I'll be walking up and down Yonge St at night or during the day and all of a sudden feel the random urge to grab some baos just passing by. The outside dough is thin and crispy. They're absolutely packed with tons of soup. And the meat is so plump. They recently added the truffle pork bao as a new flavour and it's instantly become my favourite (my gf still prefers the original pork baos)! This location is always packed and chances are you'll have to leave your name and number down for when a table opens up if you visit during peak times. I wish they had more seating or opened up a bigger location in Richmond Hill or Markham. Geez I'd prolly ask for a VIP card at that point LOL. Service is quick, efficient and polite. You walk up to the register to pay. The menu is written on the wall and every night, usually by closing time, all the baos will be sold out. They even post a sign on the outside of the entrance telling ppl they've run out. I don't think I've ever felt tempted to try any of the other items on the menu outside of the baos.

Be prepared to wait unless the stars are aligned for you. Extremely loud atmosphere, many people also waiting by cashier for their take out order Ordered bite size wonton soup w/spinach. Broth with pickled vegs had great Unami flavor profile, small wontons firm and dense Fried noodles with scallion oil . Noodles firm and chewy. Oil sinks to the bottom of the bowl so passionately mix noodles in bowl to get the full flavorful scallion essence. Star of the show were the Sangjian baos. Crispy skin with meat/soup filling. Extremely hot, watch out for squirting hot liquid if you bite incorrectly. Great value for your money, good variety of palate pleasing flavors.

Location/Service This place is located a little north of where the old (now closed) location used to be - just a little north. Street parking is available and probably around the block, just note sometimes paid parking is required. The place is now a restaurant setup - with much more seating available. Interior decor is pretty standard - I do feel it lost the wooden olden touch it used to have. Staff were quick with their orders as usual and generally nice. Food Food wise it's pretty much the same choices. They did add 1-2 extra items, but I stuck with the basics as I was curious to see if it was still as good. And indeed it was! The sang ji bao was perfect - with a crisp, slightly burnt bottom and a soft soupy bun. So flavourful and hearty. Their dry noodle with scallion oil and peanut was also as consistent - good sharable size and quantity. Glad to know the have expanded the space to make more dine in accommodations. They still do the staple takeout setup, so it's perfect for people swinging by.

I've been meaning to visit Sang-ji for awhile now and finally got a chance to go. There was a bit of a wait even for a Sunday afternoon (non lunch time). Wait was fairly quick since service and turnover is quite fast. Still got called back quickly even with a party of 5. The space isn't the biggest but still has a good amount of seating. You can watch the baos being made, which is a nice bonus to the experience. Ended up sharing an order of the Sang-ji bao and the dry noodles with scallion oil and peanuts. The Sang-ji bao was fried perfectly with a perfect amount of soup inside. the dry noodles were done well, with good sauce distribution and flavour. Overall great experience.

Original sangji fried bao - 10/10 the dough is thin and crispy filling and juice is perfect. Curry sang ji fried bao - 7.5/10 same dough as original (delicious) curry flavour filling was meh, and for an additional $1.6 not worth it in my opinion

The posters outside caught my eye, and I decided to come back with a group of three friends to try it out. We came a bit late around 8 PM, and most of the fish were already sold out except the original. We ended up ordering the Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish ($40), a whole fish served bubbling hot with three toppings (potatoes, spam, and lotus root). You can choose between catfish and turbot, we chose the turbot fish. It looked extremely spicy, but the spice level was actually perfect. It was a bit on the oily side, but pairing it with rice balanced it out nicely. The fish was very tender and buttery, everything tasted amazing! We also ordered the Stir-Fried Egg with Tomato. The eggs were soft, the tomato sauce was rich. Not to mention the portion size was huge, we even had leftovers after eating until we were full. The restaurant itself was spacious, clean, and had plenty of seating. I think they were doing some sort of promotion so they gave us a $25 off coupon, though it expired pretty quickly so we didn't get to use it. I'd definitely come back for that grilled fish.

This is a new Chinese restaurant featuring Hunan and Szechuan cuisine. The spicy dishes emphasize…read morespiciness, not numbness. A few of their dishes come out on a sizzling plate with flames underneath. They are still in soft-opening mode with several specials. You can see the menus via a QR code. The Hunan cuisine is listed as "Hunan Noodles" and the Szechuan cuisine is listed as "Chopfire Menu". The Szechuan dishes are listed with 1 to 3 chilies representing the spiciness. If you can't handle spicy, then avoid eating the chili pieces and you might "survive". The restaurant decided to minimize their food offerings so that they can focus on refining their dishes in terms of quality and taste, including from customer feedback. We ordered the following: 1. Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish ($39.95). 2. Home Stir Fried Beef ($21.95). 3. Bullfrog with Baby Ginger ($19.95). 4. Stir-Fried Cauliflower with Preserved Pork ($15.95). 5. Drunk Oolong (charcoal roasted oolong tea base) x 2 ($5.95 x 2). 6. Lemon Taro Balls ($7.95). We also saw the following: 7. Stir-Fried Sliced Pork with Green Pepper Noodle Soup ($9.99). First 10 customers each day, only pays $1.00. 8. Ink Painting Cocktail ($5.95). The Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish came out on a huge sizzling platter. The BBQ Fish, a Turbot Fish, was very fresh and flaky, easily coming off the bone. There is no head attached like at typical Chinese restaurants but it would not have fit in the platter. The platter had a delicious sauce (soupy consistency and not sweet), luncheon meat slices, lotus root slices, and two other vegetables, along with chili pieces. The entire dish tasted great together with the various flavours. The menu listed it as 2-chili spicy but I could handle it by avoiding the chili pieces. The Home Stir Fried Beef is tender. It is listed as 3-chili but I could handle it by avoiding the chili pieces. The Bullfrog with Baby Ginger has the bullfrog cut up in little pieces; no you don't see a whole frog! The meat was actually good but most pieces have bones in it, so it takes time to eat it carefully. There was ginger slices in it but it, but we thought the slices were quite large! The Stir-Fried Cauliflower with Preserved Pork was very delicious! It came in a sizzling plate. The Cauliflower was flavourful and was not crunchy and not too soft. I've never had preserved pork slices before; it was quite good, not as salty as Chinese preserved vegetables. The Drunk Oolong has comes in a small bowl a with gin and ice. On the side, they include pieces of the charcoal roasted oolong tea leaves so you can smell it; quite a good smell indeed. You can also order it without the gin, which is what I ordered for mine (since I don't drink alcohol). It was such a nice drink! The Lemon Taro Balls dessert was pretty. In the centre was a slice of lemon. The customer service was good. There is plenty of indoor table and counter seating, including a small private room at the back. There is also an outdoor patio during warmer weather. There is pop music playing in the background. There is no free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There are two gender-neutral washrooms downstairs, so they are not wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2025-026

From the moment we walked in, the space already set the tone.. dark, dramatic, elegant, and beautifully designed without feeling overly stiff. It has that upscale energy that makes dinner feel like an occasion before you've even ordered anything. Food-wise, there was a lot to love. The signature apple wood roasted Peking duck was definitely a highlight, especially with the tableside carving, which made the whole experience feel even more polished and memorable. The skin had that beautiful lacquered finish, and the duck was rich, flavorful, and very satisfying. We also ordered a few larger dishes for the table, and I really appreciated how everything still felt refined without losing that comforting, indulgent side of Chinese dining. Some dishes leaned rich and luxurious, others were lighter and more aromatic, so the meal never felt repetitive. Service was another standout. Attentive without hovering, smooth without being too formal.. exactly the kind of service you hope for in a restaurant like this. Overall, Mott 32 is absolutely the kind of place I'd come back to for a special dinner, celebration, or just one of those nights when you want the meal to feel a little more elevated than usual.

Also, when we call to check if dim sum is being served, it makes sense to inform us of the dining room closure instead of having us come in anyway. We settled for eating in the lounge which ended up being good because bartender, Aiki?, was excellent as our server. Really great. Ordered the following: King prawn Har gow: standard. Not worth the premium Mott charges. Miso black cod dumpling: not good. Wouldn't order again Shredded Peking Duck Spring Roll, Sliced Vegetable : Excellent. We loved this! Nice and crunchy. Delicious duck inside. Good vinegar dipping sauce. Good volume Hot & Sour Iberico Pork Shanghainese Soup Dumplings: Fantastic and unique. The dumplings don't really need dipping sauce since inside there is a hot and sour soup along with pork. These are unique and delicious. Fried Wagyu beef taro croquette : pretty good but really tasted like a Jamaican patty Cold noodle with shredded duck : very generous with meat. Honestly a lot more than any other restaurant that serves this. To be fair no one charges this much either so it should. Flavour could be stronger but certainly decent. Fresh Mango, Coconut, Glutinous Rice Roll: nice fresh dessert. Our favourite. Frozen xiao long bao with chocolate and nut: Tastes like a mochi. Not bad. Dragonball Zen - fun name. Delicious drink. Jasmine Dragon Ball Infused Tanqueray Gin / Peach Liquor Lime / Rose Water / Mint / Seltzer Over $200 for this meal before tip. It's premium an debatable if with it. Will be back but just occasionally.
