As a dry cleaner, they do a good job. Clothes are clean, and ready when they are supposed to be ready. In the last 8 years or so, they have never lost or misplaced an item. When compared to other cleaners around, though, they are a bit pricey. I still use them as my primary cleaner, since they are close and convenient. However, I would not recommend them for alterations. They are extremely expensive, take a long time, and are frequently not what you expected. That's about all I can say about this place! read more

Don't bring your clothes to this cleaners! 1. Brought clothes here and employee could not find them. 2. Came back for business and was told, your clothes were picked up and they weren't so he went to the back and found them. 3. Bring my daughter uniform to be pressed only and was promised next day after 4pm. Come here at 5pm and they didn't even press my clothes. While I'm waiting they can find another lady clothes. Just horrible service. They loose your clothes and promise item will be ready but is NOT. There will not be a 4th time I come back that's for sure! Also brought shoes here to clean and the father was working and couldn't find them and I had my receipt. A big inconvenience because I had to come back another day. read more

I dropped 2 pairs of my sons Levi's to get dry cleaned. I picked them up Thursday. My son uses a pair on Saturday and the middle area It was harder than a rock. I looked at the other pair and I found this on 4 sides of the pants in the leg and the waist area and on the bottom leg. I take them back and he swears it's a chemical that was on the pants before I dropped them and the dry cleaning reacted with it. I know there was no chemical spell on both pairs to make this happen. read more

The price was reasonable and my items were ready next day. This morning I went in to pick up my cleaning. I had asked for my 2 boys shirts to be laundered and pressed medium starch.I also had dropped off a little girls party dress. Unfortunately I did not have the owner or his son helping me this morning I had a woman named Fabiola. What a rude employee. When she told me it would be $18.50 for the 3 items and I said why. That is too much. I pay 3 dollars to have my shirts done. She was not apologetic instead she got angry and told me that those 2 shirts had to be dry cleaned because they didn't fit on the machine. I told her she had to be kidding. I said my mom was here last week and she did have an issue. I went back to my car and got more money to pay my bill. She continued to say that the owners son makes a lot of mistakes. Wow! First she insults me and then the owners. When I was leaving she walked out the front door and continued to yell at me. Wow! Wow! Wow! The family that runs the cleaners are very nice people. Unfortunately their employe is rude and does not know how to work with people. read more

I bring a large amount of clothes at a time to be cleaned and am pleased with their work. They are also very friendly and accommodating to special requests. Horrible alteration service. I had pants that I had worn once and the stitching was unraveling. All that was needed was to re stitch the area. I received item where the stitching looked like a 5 year old did it. Doubled on areas and did not follow the original line. Also snagged another area. Also had a jacket that needed to be patched where the down was coming out. They couldn't fix it.pics to follow. I would avoid this place. read more

Horrible place! They ruined one of my beloved dresses. I went to pull it out of the closet and one tie end was completely missing. The dress is unwearable now since the bust cannot be tied. I am livid! This isn't the first problem I've encountered with them but this crosses the line. Why would you hand over an item that you destroyed like nothing is wrong? Never use this place! Something eventually will go terribly wrong because whomever is doing the dry cleaning is clearly incompetent and lacks sufficient knowledge of fabrics. read more

Since Cal Cleaners closed and I was referred to Golden Hanger by proxy, the new kid in town call Sang-Q (your welcome, haha) is a nice change. Located on the southeast corner of Carson and Orange, on the former Mobil gas station site that was deserted for a number of years, the friendly and attentive service is a welcome respite from the 'service' at Golden Hanger. I understand that certain jobs aren't the most fun (telephone sales, anyone?), but the attention to detail was really lax at the 'Hanger and is much nicer at Sang-Q. The people are always very nice and offer same-day service if you drop off before 10am IIRC. Although the parking lot is much smaller than at the 'Hanger, you're not dancing what I dub the "parking lot balet" and dodging shopping carts, inattentive people backing out of parking spots and childen running willy-nilly. A couple more business are looking to open soon, including a chinese take out restraunant; more to come once that place opens. read more

Very good service and excellent prices for natural dry cleaning. Yes, natural. You probably already know about this, but in case you hadn't heard, most dry cleaners use perchlorethylene (perc for short), a potentially carcinogenic chemical that is a central nervous system depressant and can cause irritation to the skin. Clothes processed at the typical dry cleaners that use "perc" are recommended to be aired out for at least three days outside of the plastic bag. Perchlorethylene has been banned by the state of California and will be phased out completely by 2023. Sang-Q has a special natural dry cleaning machine on the premises (not to be confused with organic dry cleaning which does have any by-product pollutants whatsoever). After chatting with the man at the counter whom I asked why don't they charge more for their special natural process, he explained to me that some customers complain about their prices (I think it was $1.75 or $1.95 apiece). I realize that the demographic of people who complain to a natural cleaner about their price probably doesn't realize the difference in the process and probably doesn't Yelp, either, for that matter. But, I have to say it anyway; $1.75 for a piece of clothing to be dry cleaned through a natural process is NOT expensive. I've paid quadruple that price for a regular dry cleaner that uses perc! Quick, prompt service, flexible staff, natural cleaning on clothes that you can wear straight from the plastic wrapper without getting skin afflictions deserves five stars from me! read more

After using this cleaners for 2-3 months and having them clean my suits 5-6 times, they lost one of my suits! They lost the pants and shirt because I didn't have them wash the jacket. However, it was my favorite suit. This caused an awkward situation. These people seemed nice, but they either stole my suit or gave it to someone else; both are terribly irresponsible for dry cleaners. I suppose someone could have broken into the place and taken it, but that's doubtful. In this spying day and age, I even wondered if they sent it to Asia for my DNA to be analyzed or something... We were on great terms and I appreciated their work until this happened. We gave it a few weeks and I returned twice and they didn't have it. They decided to let me take five pieces of leftover clothing. For about an hour, I examined all of the clothes that were presumably left behind. They are in a rack toward the back. I chose a tie, a few shirts, and a jacket. They were gently used. I won't return to this place to wash my suit again. I'm bummed. read more

Besides that fact that my husband, sister and brother in-law love them as a cleaners I took a bridesmaid dress in to be hemmed and they quoted me $45 cheaper than the 4 different places I checked. For over two months they ignored me, kept saying that they were waiting on insurance. The owner never returned a single call and when he made appointments to meet, he never showed up. Regular here since they first opened as it was fantastic with great customer service - but boy has it become just godawful ever since they hired two new girls who outright REFUSE to do their jobs. I don't mean that in a more metaphorical or figurative sense, I mean they will literally tell customers to go find their clothes themselves in the back which is something I've seen them do on multiple occasions as well as things like just bringing out a bunch of different clothes and telling you to figure out which one is yours because they don't know. They are rude, don't listen, typically talking on their cellphones and ignoring you or other customers, don't have a single clue what they're doing, regularly give out the wrong clothes to the wrong people as well as overcharge you, and are just pathetic as employees. They've ruined this place and the only reason I still return is because I live less than 2 minutes away. The fact they still are allowed to work there only makes me lose respect for the owner even more than I did when they were first hired. Why 3 stars then and not lower? Because the original staff is still here and when you're lucky enough to get any of them it's good. read more

I would not recommend this cleaners. They steal clothes. They stole my Nike, and adidas outfit along with a nice black coat I purchased from Zara. When I asked about my items the girl working the front said she would look into it and contact me. I never heard from them. Whoever hired her should feel real bad when they end up closing the doors because no patrons anymore especially the devoted ones from day one , picked up laundry one of my tops was stained and pair of black pants had lots of white powder like substance all over ! Showed her she wanted to say was my fault because clothes had been there long , gave lots of attitude and push back , music was loud in there , nothing like we are accustomed to from that cleaners , was told would not reclean the pants , gave my receipt and said your top will be ready Thursday and walked away , after I pick up my top Thursday will not be going back ! The 2 new ladies there are extremely unprofessional. I have finally gotten sick and tired of dealing with their nasty attitudes and extreme unprofessionalism. Since I have been going here for years, (prior to the new girls)and had had no problems with the sweet girl before, I personally spoke to the owner about the one girl who literally tried to "hold my clothes hostage" because I did not have the specific receipt for the clothes I wanted. I was hoping her attitude would change after I spoke to the owner, however, it appeared to get worse. I will be happily looking for a new cleaners in the Lakwood/Long Beach area. I was going to hold back giving a 1 star as I've been coming here for several months and although there's been more than a handful of instances that my clothes have not been thoroughly cleaned and have had to wait another 3-4 days to redo them, I didn't mind because I lived so closeby. But today was the last straw. Two months ago I brought in a somewhat pricey ($200 Marciano) blazer. A few days later, I come back and there's a hole in the spot where the stain was. The Asian dude still tried to charge me for my remaining balance. I was sooo irate. Not only is my jacket irreparable, now this dude is still trying to charge me! Anyway we settled on a credit to my account. Fine whatever! I just wanted to get out of there. A few days ago, I drop a few items in for dry cleaning. Picked it up today and Fabiola or whatever her name was, tried to charge me $16. Uhhh, I have that stupid credit on my account because just 2 months ago you ruined my jacket, now you're still trying to charge me! She looked at the computer again and her next response was, "Oh, you only owe $3." NO dude. I owe frikken ZEROO dollars. I'm seriously livid that I have to deal with these people again. She was so unpleasant and clearly didn't know what she was doing. I couldn't leave without paying the $3 because there was no manager around and this brilliant person with tons of personality and excellent customer service skills (SARCASM there obviously), wanted me to come back in 2 hours to speak with the manager. F that. I have one day off all week and there's no way I'm gonna make time to come back in 2 hours to see this person's face again. I'll pay you the $3. Beware! Do not take anything to them that cannot be replaced. I have been going to Sang Q since we moved to the area over a year ago. After 2 issues I will not be returning. Issue 1: I took a tie with a stain on it into them and it came back with a worse stain on it where they tried to clean it. It was already stained when we brought it in, and they do a good job on my husbands clothes, so I I let it slide. Big mistake. Issue 2:This last time when I brought in a nice shirt of mine and it came back with dark stains all along the sleeve. The shirt is completely ruined. On top of that, I was told to come back in a few days to talk to someone else to get my issue resolved. The real source of my frustration is that this issue cannot truly be resolved, because I cannot go buy that same shirt anymore. I will fight them to get my money back, believe me I will, but that shirt itself is irreplaceable.
