This is my favorite place (and actually the only place I go anymore) to get my car smog checked. It is a one-man business, and he is so friendly and personable. He does a great job, and you'll be in and out pretty quickly. You'll get a friendly greeting, and you can to sit at a little table with magazines and coffee candies while you wait. Sang is such a pleasant man. I called ahead to see if he had time to take my car in & he was so cheerful in saying yes. I was there within 15 minutes and although he was already working on a car my wait was very minimal. He gave a nice cold water bottle while I waited which was very thoughtful. All in all the test took about 20 minutes, lucky for me my car passed but he did let me know beforehand that if my car failed he would re test it for free within 30 days. My total for an 09 Camry was $45 which includes a copy of the certificate & electronic results sent to the DMV. I'm very happy with my experience & next time someone I know needs a smog check I won't hesitate in sending them to Mr. Sang! read more

I needed to have my car smogged at a test only location, I called around and got referred to Sang's. The station is immaculate, there was a decent sized waiting area with magazines and he offered me water. The technician was super nice and very professional. It cost $45 for the test and the certification, pricing varies on the type and age of car. He's on the DMV's list of STAR certified stations. The address listed on yelp is confusing. The real address is 895 S. East St Unit #105 Anaheim, CA 92805. It's on the NE corner of Vermont and East St. Would totally come here again! I passed by the way! read more

I stumbled across this smog test on the way to another smog test place and im glad I stopped. The place is clean and he gives you a nice cold bottle of water. AWWW YEEAAAAAAHHHUHHH It's my favorite biennial event!!! SMOG CHECK TIME! SMOGCHECKsmogcheckSMOGCHECKsmogcheck... Seriously though, wtf is a STAR smog check and why am I required to go to one? I have done nothing suspicious to warrant this scrutiny by the CA DMV. Anyway, I looked up Sang's Smog and it is STAR certified, had awesome reviews (thanks again yelp!), and a decent price for the area ($37+$8 CA Fee = $45 total). The owner is super nice and courteous; he pulled a chair out for me to sit on, offered an assortment of reading materials, grabbed me an ice cold bottle of the tastiest natural spring water this side of the Rockies, Kirkland(R) Mountain Spring Water, and then I helped myself to a coffee candy. Next thing I know I have passed my smog check and my results have been uploaded to the cloud. As far as Smog Check experiences go, hands down the best one I have ever and will ever have. read more

When my dad handed me an envelope from the DMV I thought, "poop. $$$ to keep my car" that was back in June. I thought I had until the end of August so I put that envelope away....turns out I really had until the end of July before having to pay late fees. Oops. Oh and I had to get a smog check at a STAR certified place. Oops again. I almost went to the closest STAR certified place to my home but their reviews were sketchy. Sang's Smog came up in my search for a better quality and fairly close shop and I have no regrets. Sang was extremely polite when we arrived. He ended the phone call he was on as quickly as he could and began to help us. Walking into his shop, I was impressed by how neat it was. He noticed I had a carrier in my hand (couldn't leave my puppy in the car after all) , asked if I had a dog with me, took a closer look, and just laughed. I was afraid he wouldn't let me take her into the waiting area with us. I was given a form to sign after he explained the price to me; which was quite nice because he did have his prices listed above the front desk. My boyfriend and I enjoyed being able to watch the testing process from where we were sitting. When he was done and told me the car passed, I jumped for joy! Sang was very nice and polite, and the shop was very clean. I bought a new car from Las Vegas that I thought needed to get a smog certification (the DMV website isn't super clear on the matter) for California. He was unsure whether I actually needed this, and suggested that rather than spend the money I consult with the DMV first. I'm not sure if I will need one, but if I do I'll come back here. Update: The DMV did require a smog certification, so I went back. As with the first visit, Sang was very nice and got the job done quickly. Without me asking he offered me a bottled water. My 2001 Silverado failed test and Sang explained the failure. He asked me to drive and come back. He re-tested for free and still truck still failed. I studied the problem, bought new factory parts and made repairs. I failed to return within the 30 days Sang will re-test for free.
