Called ahead to get a quote on my '92 Toyota 22RE pickup truck. He gave me a straight answer and a very fair price over the phone. When I showed up, he was very nice, greeted me with a smile, grabbed me a water from his mini fridge, told me to sit anywhere I like and enjoy some entertaining TV (Jerry Springer) while I waited. He had a few cars ahead of mine and even offered to show me where I could charge my phone if needed. Once it was my turn, he explained everything he was doing and why. He was happy to show me how his computer diagnostics machine tested stuff. He was VERY transparent. I passed smog, payed him the price he quoted without any bait and switch and it also included tax. The service was very fast and the place is quite clean. I came in just a couple minutes after his shop opened. I was surprised to see another customer already there. I was even more surprised that he was already finishing up with that one. I was in and out in about 20-25 minutes. It took him about 15 minutes to work on my car. He also gave me a cold bottle of water. He was very pleasant and welcoming, like he really cared about his customers and his business. Shook my hand when I first walked in and as I left. I also called around and found his shop to be the least expensive in the area. I hope to never need another smog check soon, but if I do, I'll definitely go back here. Highly recommended. read more

I've been using Sang's Smog for years (back when it was at its old location and at its new one), driving about 17 miles to get here. Lee is a wonderful man who gets your car done as soon as possible (usually 20 minutes or less). He has a nice little area for you to sit, peruse current magazines of all sorts, and gives you an ice cold bottle of water as soon as you arrive. I was on my lunch trying to get my car smogged by a STAR facility and got the info for a few smog places on the DMV website. First place I stopped by was on East/Broadway - they were pretty rude, so I walked out and called Sang's and asked if he could smog my car. He said sure, come on by. I went by and a truck was just finishing up and pulling out. Sang was very nice, had excellent customer service and offered me a cold bottle of water on hot day which was much appreciated. He told me the fees up front and let me know if my car didn't pass I could come back within the month for a free smog. Cool.
