Sansai (山菜) is Japanese meaning "mountain vegetables", originally referring to vegetables that grew naturally, were foraged in the wild, and not grown and harvested from fields. They don't serve mountain vegetables here, but do have lots of salads. This is also one of my aunt's favorite places to eat. She loves the California rolls with chicken and salad. The Fish is spicyly good but the salad my daughter dont like it and when she asked me to try... I think the onion ( smelled sour and funky taste ). Great Japanese inspired food and Hawaiian food. They give large portion. Every upgrade to large combo seems worth it. Salmon grill was very good. Dumpling soup was quite Americanized but it's still delicious. Sushi comes in a really large bite! Food is okay but customer service leaves much to be desired. Cashiers and the woman manager/owner are okay. They seem pleasant when taking your order and will provide any additional condiments as requested. However, the male manager/owner needs a couple of lessons in customer service. On multiple occasions when visiting as I approached the counter, he decided to take a phone order. That's not a huge issue but he doesn't greet me nor ask me to wait. Shouldn't the customer standing physically in front of you receive service before a person calling in? Secondly, after he is done with his call, he proceeds to correct his employee on how to correctly assemble the sushi or converse with the cook staff...all while I'm still standing there waiting to place my order. After the third time of this occurring, I decided to leave and take my money elsewhere. She said a lot of people say it's too spicy but some like it, I would say that if you get so many comments about it being too spicy then you should probably lower the spice level. Delicious food! The teriyaki sauce is a little thicker than I was used to, but it had great flavor. I was able to mix it into the rice and chicken without it getting soupy. The egg rolls were super crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Definitely recommend for a quick bite to eat! read more

This establishment was clean but I will say that the people working in the back were super loud in their conversations. This place needs a lot more customer service courses. I bought my family to eat inside for our first time. The short female taking orders is very one track and not able to multitask at all. Was a little confused about pricing - too much extra rice instead of extra meat. Had this menu been more simple I think could help this store. I regret I tipped before even getting my meal. As We sat to eat, the young lady is commenting, she is not a Maid, people want they food brought to them". My wife tells me she needs to use the restroom, and I can hear this young lady mention they don't have a restroom shortly after. So I asked for access to the restroom, since we are dine in customers. My wife walked in the restroom and back out. The smell could knock out a skunk. My wife went to chipotle instead for restroom. I tell the manger at the time- Hispanic dude with glasses, that my wife wasn't able to use the restroom. He goes to check out the restroom to come back and say, yeah we will get to the restroom ASAP". Knowingly, he knew the restroom needed more than a little attention. As the food is ready to be served to our table, Both workers are commenting, they think they are at home". Keep in mind we are the only two inside the restaurant at the time. For any sort of flavor, you must combine the greens with the fish. The included miso soup was pre-made, and just ok. The space itself is reasonably large and clean (especially compared to the cramped outlet in El Segundo). The price was a touch on the high side at $12, and I think that you can do a bit better for value at one of the poke places around. If you're here and dying for some fast Japanese food, then it'll do but it's not really worth seeking out. One other thing - they have several prominent signs offering a free beverage for a Yelp review. This is against Yelp content guidelines. -1 star for this. read more
