Place was amazing last time I had visited. This time not so much hostesses we're very unwelcoming. Once we got sat after 30 minutes we had to wait another 10 minutes for our waitress who was very slow never got refills nor bread. Food was way below average and terribly greasy. Do not recommend. in a word....horrid. at 2 in the afternoon, it took 45 min to get our order to the table. all our waiter did was talk to others while we waited. he was also very rude. when food did arrive it was missing items from the order. when we asked for the floor manager, he was not much of a help. he just swapped servers and brought me a bowl of stewed apples. well i know 5 people who will never eat at this place again..adios read more

Great place I found while visiting Hammond, La. The steaks and ribs are on point. I take the drive from New Orleans to have lunch, after church on Sundays. Now I did have issues with the salmon, but I'll take fault for ordering seafood at a STEAK restaurant. The staff are friendly & funny. I still take the trip. It's well worth my while. read more

We tried the pork sandwich and the ribs. Both were very fatty. Taste was good, but a quarter of the meat was fat.

There was a very large group of us, all family, and our wait staff did an excellent job of keeping us fed and watered!My T-bone steak was delicious, my husband's sirloin cooked perfectly but tasted terrible. It had a souraftertaste. I'm not a fan of the sweet butter for the rolls but the rolls were yummy. The house salad is generous and I like the blue cheese dressing. Let's start with the drinks....ordered a Crown and Ginger...no ginger ale. Then ordered a SoCo Old Fashioned....received someone else's drink. My husband ordered Iced Tea and server brought him...water. Next to dinner.....Server forgot our salads and when we mentioned it...server said.."Really??" Salads came with our dinner.....ordered my filet medium rare...got raw. My husband's steak was a little better. The whole experience was really bad. Don't waste your time or money. read more

If I could give 0 stars you already know. I heard who I assume is the (female) manager yelling at my waitress. (She used her name which I won't mention so she doesn't get in trouble) Our waitress was fantastic throughout the entire wait, her section was well taken care of. We (party of two) ate lunch on 8/4. Pro's: The food was good. Con's: Service incredible slow. Took 10 minutes just to give a drink order. Since that took so long, we ordered our meal at the same time. Took another 30 minutes to receive our meal. Our waitress took my ice tea to refill and didn't bring it back (I had to ask). Do not let them sit you at a table ... insist on a booth. Either the tables or floors are not level and the tables rock ... alot. You have to keep your feet clamped on the bottom stands. The floor tables are so close together you can easily participate in your neighbors conversations. Our food arrived luke warm. Although the food was good, the aggrevation factor was great. I'd recommend you go somewhere else for your money. read more

Santa Fe is my favorite place to eat in Hammond. Their Ribeye is tender and juicy and seasoned just right. Tammy and Jeremy are my favorite waitress and waiter. Anything I have ever asked for, and I have asked for some crazy things....I have never been told the word NO. We will continue going back time and time again. Where ele can a mom with 4 daughters ages 10-17 years go and eat a 16oz ribeye with a great salad and baked potato plus the food the kids order for under $40.00? I spend that much at mcdonalds!!! My boyfriend and I wanted to go to a nice casual restaurant for dinner and thought that this would be just that but it was anything but that. It was very casual like gym shorts and t-shirt casual and the tables were so close together that people's children were constantly over our shoulders and in our personal space and the place is way over decorated like something out of a theme park. Our food was okay, but none of it was hot just kind of warm like it had been sitting out a while before they brought it out. The place is also very overpriced for the quality of the food. The service was okay but not the best we've ever had our waitress never noticed our empty cups and we had to ask her for refills as well as straws. I would not recommend going to this place to anyone I know or personally go back again. read more

We are locals and this place has replaced our usual choices. Rarely do we have to wait for a table long unless it is a Friday or Saturday night. The staff are always social and attentive. I rarely have to search for our waitress for anything. They recently removed a few items from the dishes which was a bit frustrating but easily overcome. The drinks are huge and delicious. Our plates are always overfull and correct. I've eaten here a hundred times and never had to return a plate to the kitchen! I wouldn't bother with the dessert but I do recommend the appetizers. My favorite is the Sampler but the Texas Toothpicks are crunchy and the flautas fresh and soft. Parking isn't an issue and they have low tables to accommodate the disabled. The restrooms are clean and ventilated. Of course the floor is covered in peanut shells so don't wear sandals! XD But you eventually get used to it. The salads are cool and fresh as well as the corn relish and pico. The bread rolls and butter that come before the entrees are hot and sweet. I recommend the Texas Tips for anyone who wants to get to the steak faster. A lot of people don't like the Steakhouse atmosphere. So, if you are a neat freak, the floors are going to drive you insane. If you are used to soft music and elegant table service, the country western motif is going to grate your nerves. Now, if you like good comfort food, quality country music, happy wait staff and anything western with a big glass of iced tea, this is where you want to be. read more

Not amazing, and not bad. The food is quite basic, and the whole place is dusted with peanuts, i fell like there ripping off Texas Road house. The stake was ok, and the waitress seemed new so i'll cut her some slack. Beware this place is louder than a plane flying over head when its busy. This is one of the worst steak places. All 3 steaks were cooked horribly overdone. When the order was sent back the steaks were completely opposite than before meaning extremely underdone but with an over abundance of salt. The salad and our waitress were the only good things. Me and my friend use to go here for steak and drinks. I don't know what has happened but the service has gotten so bad. A few weeks ago I went to pick up an order and I stood there for about 15min while all the workers just walked around as if I wasn't there. I forgave it because they were busy. Today me and my friend went there to eat. Keep in mind it wasn't busy as all!! First off we sat down for about 5 min while the workers just conversed at the bar (mind you we were sitting at the bar). After flagging them down they had to decide on who was going to take our order and sent the guy. He never gave us his name and took our drink order. After bringing our drinks he asked if we were ready to order and walked away to get a note pad then takes our order and tells us the bread is coming. After about 10min of having our bread we flag him down for more butter. 20 minutes after that and not checking on us at all, he tells us that there was a problem in the kitchen and it would be another minute before our food comes out and we would get free chips and salsa. Now 20 minutes before another guy had sat down and was seen immediately and 10 minutes after the waiter brings the "please forgive us" chips and salsa the guy who sat 40min after us got his food, then 5min later we got ours. My friend's food was cold and the food was decent. The manager never came to see us personally about our wait which is something a manager should do. We had to leave in a rush to pick up our children so we didn't get to speak to a manager. I am a server, so I know how things are suppose to go. Whenever food takes over 12 minutes my manager is at the table checking on the people and showing his face, especially if we not busy. I hate to say this but it seemed racist to me. We were 2 black women who were ignored and not even checked on but the caucasian man was waited on as soon as he sat down and checked on while waiting for his food. We had the same waiter and was sitting in the same section and was treated completely different. Racist or not this was a horrible, HORRIBLE experience. Dine-in, the food is hit or miss. On average it's just mediocre. Take out, absolutely horrible. For some reason they do not like take out orders. They will give you old and cold food or out right spoiled food. I'm guessing they just want to get rid of the old food they have left over and know they won't get away with it with a dine in customer. Either way I've learned my lesson and won't be back.
