I wish I had read the Yelp reviews before I tried to hire these Yahoos. I booked six weeks in advance for boiler service. No show, no call. When they didn't show up at the appointed time I call them. I was told they would be here in forty minutes. Three hours later I called back and was told they would check to see what was going on and call me right back. They never called back and every call I made after that went to voicemail. Voicemail was full and I couldn't even leave a message. I think I dodged a bullet with them if this is any indication of their professionalism. What kind of amateurs just ghost their clients? read more

I recently had a break in the main water line to my house, and water was coming up in my driveway like a spring. I dug down to find the break in the line, and I managed to patch it. It was the old galvanized pipe from the early 1960s, and it was badly corroded. It obviously needed to be replaced. I also had a corroded, ancient shut-off valve that needed replacement. I called a bunch of plumbers to get estimates. Some plumbers gave insane estimates. Some plumbers never called back. One plumber came and gave an estimate but didn't respond to a subsequent call. Eventually I settled on Santa Fe Express Plumbing and Drain. I gave them a call, and we arranged a date for a couple weeks out. Robert and his crew of about 4-5 guys showed up on the arranged date with a digger. By the end of the day, they'd dug a 40-foot trench that wound around the bushes in my front card, so they didn't have to tear anything out. They used flexible, plastic PEX pipe and installed a tracer line so that anyone looking for the pipe in the future can see where it's at. They replaced the old outdoor shut-off valve and installed a new shut-off valve inside a closet in the house. They cut through a small section of the front porch, taking care not to disturb the supports for the portal, to get up to the house foundation and put the water line under it. All of this was done in about 7-8 hours. The crew came out the next day to meet with the inspector and back-fill the hole. They did a good job tidying up the area: looking at the yard, I could hardly tell that they'd been there. The cost was expensive, as any water line installation will be, but it wasn't nearly as bad as some of the other plumbers estimated. The written estimate was thorough and detailed, so I knew exactly what to expect. The crew was courteous and timely, and Robert answered all my questions and kept me apprised of the status of things. I would never let these individuals into my home as they have show violent tendencies. I had an incident with an employee driving recklessly through a parking lot by Panera on 02/18/21 at 12:40 Pm. They drove through the empty parking spaces at high speed directly at me and I had to swerve to miss them. They almost hit another car that also swerved and honked at them. While in the Panera drive through the employee in the company vehicle rolled down his window and made threats of violence to myself and the other driver in the incident. I took a picture of the vehicle and drivers license and called the number on the side of the truck. When I explained what happened to whomever answered they seemed either not to care or it might have actually been the driver. Looking at the Yelp reviews it doesn't seem like the care anything about customers or the public in general. read more

I had several involved and challenging installations done recently and the SF Express employees did a first class job. My first experience was the removal of a defective range/burner vent that required numerous innovative solutions that they provided. The second experience was the installation of a dual mini-split A/C system on my house. They coordinated the electrical work and did the mini-split installations over several days. The installations were complicated but the final result was perfect. Their prices were quite reasonable and I will be using them again in the near future. read more

Don't use them!!! I made an appointment with them weeks early because I had a timeline to meet. They entirely blew me off. Total no-show. When I called, they said I was on their calendar, but they didn't even bother to call me to say they weren't going to show up. Unreliable and untrustwothy. Don't make the mistake I did. read more

They scheduled my appointment between 10-12am and said they would call 1/2 hour before they came. I called at 12 when no one had come or called, said he would call right back. I called again at 1:30 as no one had called , and was told again that he would call right back. As of 3:30 no one had called and I called another company. I rescheduled all my work for that day, over $200. I didn't make. I also had my carpenter scheduled for later that afternoon to hang backer board, and had to pay him for two hours for sitting on his hands.If a company can not even make a phone call, how can they do a competent job? I scheduled a job with Robert at SF Express Plumbing and Drain two weeks ahead of time. I explained very clearly to him what was needed and he was very agreeable. He even recommended having two people show up to make it easier. The job required taking a water heater out and then reinstalling after placing in a prefab cabinet. On the day of the appointment, not only did Robert not have two people, he had zero people available for my job. He mentioned he had emergencies, but he was not willing to honor his commitment to my job or even give a courtesy call in the morning saying he had to reschedule. It is not really understandable how I go from scheduling two people in advance to having no work done at all. Robert and his crew should not be trusted for planning out your plumbing job, and I highly recommend choosing a different company in advance as to not waste your time. read more

Late day before the project, the owner informed me that it would cost me $700 for a $50 permit to do the simple job of extending a 30 inch gas line, not including the cost of the work itself. He then blamed me for not telling him, a licensed professional, that a permit was required. I had to fire him, call off all of the other contractors ready for him to complete the work. I should have realized why the YELP reviews on this company are so bad. BUYER BEWARE! read more

If I could give them a negative rating, I would. They installed a toilet incorrectly back in late February (crooked). I reached out to the plumber to see if he could come by that day to fix and no response. I called the mainline and spoke to the owner, Robert Martinez, the following week who said he would check their schedule and get back to me. He never did. I ended up having TLC come and fix it. He sent me the bill and called me to collect. I mentioned the issue again and said I would pay but was annoyed. He then told me that I could have called more. I did say they were incompetent I was surprised it was installed wrong and no one called me back. He continued to tell me I was cheap because I bought the toilet and that I need to go back to wherever I came from and he would just put a lien on my property. I am not sure why he told me to go back from where I came from, but I don't think it was meant to be a compliment. read more

7/2/15 - Septic tank is not draining and now I'm told they have to redig the entire leach field. This is going on three months since the original dig in April. I'm not sure I can handle any more of this incompetence! 5/4/15 - Called him on Friday and now he tells me he is sending someone over today (Monday) to finish the job sometime between 8-10 am. Will this really happen or is he just jacking me around again? 4/28/15 - False promises. I have made two calls to find out why he hasn't come and what date they will complete of the work and still no one from the company has showed up to finish the job. 4/22/15 - The owner came over today and tells me he will be finishing the job with a bobcat on Thursday or Monday, so I'm feeling more positive about it. 4/10/15 - Okay, after we made a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, the owner called and said he didn't know we were unsatisfied with the work. (Wow!) He offered to finish the job and is sending two guys out to finish it. Will see how their work is before I change my rating. One of the worst experiences I've ever had with a local service business. The owner gave my husband one bid price and his worker gave us a much higher bid price. The guy came out and barely communicated with us, didn't ask about power lines before he dug and ended up digging up our electrical line to our garage. The owner refused to pay for the damage and his worker didn't properly finish the job. If you need septic work done, find someone else. They did sloppy work and we didn't get much for our money. read more

He lied in each of three conversations saying his guys were still on it until admitting he's on another job and I can call someone else. He said even a bad review helps him. Contacted Santa Fe Express Plumbing to schedule a service call. Talked to Robert and he scheduled a call following Friday afternoon. Friday, no service men arrive, no call regarding their no-show. Called and left a voicemail. No response. Called again and talked to Robert. No reason for failure of service call and told me he doesn't listen to voicemail messages. What great service. Called on a Monday to get the toilet augured, they set an appointment for between 3:15-4:15 on Tuesday. No show. I called them at 3:45 and dispatch/owner(?) said the plumber would call back with an ETA. Plumber called at 6pm, came at 6:15pm, took less than 5 minutes to augur the toilet, and charged $135. Plumber was very nice but the long wait plus high price means we'll go elsewhere next time. read more

I called and Roberto lied to me about saying someone would show up. My wife heard the conversations and was just as shocked as me. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They are great, I don't understand the bad reviews. They did great work at my primary residence and I had an emergency AC that supposedly went out at my condo as per TLC and it turned out to be a burned out wire. Robert and Ignacio diagnosed the problem appropriately after I fired TLC and fixed the issue for a lot less than TLC was quoting. TLC actually wanted to replace the whole motor and charge $750 after charging $207 to diagnose. I wish I could of gotten ahold of Santa Fe express sooner before spending the $207 and getting a wrong diagnosis. Robert and Ignacio are great and I would highly recommend. Santa Fe Express Plumbing provided me with a quote for work on a kitchen/bath remodel project. When I asked them to do the work Robert said he needed a follow-up appointment to go over everything. So, I made a follow-up appointment with Robert for two days later and they didn't show up. When I called Robert that morning he said they did not even have it on their schedule. I told him I wasn't pleased and that I took time off of work, and he then told me to find some other plumber. He was very rude. This experience tells me that this company is very unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone as they aren't concerned about the customer and may waste your time. read more

When they (didn't give me his name--but when I called back said he was the manager) came over and did the initial estimate, all seemed fine. Said he'd be back the next morning at 9. When he hadn't showed up by 9:30 I called the office and they told me that he'd had to go to Home Depot or Loew's for a different part than the one he'd checked on while giving me the estimate. The office guy said he'd be over at my house in 20 minutes. When he finally arrived at 10:45--no phone call ahead of time to say he was running even more late--I was on the phone. The front door was open. I saw him walk by outside moving toward the window where the AC was to be installed. When I got off the phone he was gone. He hadn't waited, he called while I was on the phone--but didn't leave a message. He just left. Then when I called twice no answer at the office. When I called again, they hung up on me. When I called back a fourth time, he didn't apologize for having been late, for not having called before 10:45 (he actually called at 11 while he was here for all of five minutes). He says he won't be coming back today. He says he didn't call initially because he was busy with other stuff. Even though he'd said it would take him three hours to install the AC. Which meant that between 9 and 12 I should have been his only customer. Apparently, not so. Apparently, he's too busy doing "other stuff" to even call and tell his customer that he's running late. Typical. I will never use them. I cannot stress enough how poor his attitude was and how unbelievably unprofessional it was of him not to call by 9:15 to say he'd be late. Or to call at some point before his first phone call to me at 11. Two hours. He was one hour and 45 minutes late getting here--with no explanation from him. Then he didn't call till 11. And even then, did not leave a message. Terrible. Awful. Hope his business suffers. read more

I received a coupon post card in the mail and called Santa Fe Express Plumbing & Drain for maintenance on my boiler. The day of my appointment I got a call from the plumber asking me if I had an appointment at 11am. I said yes and it is 10:55am. He tried to tell me that he did not know, he just got the message. and was actually going back to another job site. I told him I had taken off of work already. He told me that he would then instead start driving to my area which was about 25min away still. I asked him if he had a thermal couple since that may be an issue on the boiler and he said he just used his last one. If I wanted him to he could go see if his shipment had come in but I would have to wait another 30min. I offered to go to our local True Value and get one myself and meet him at my house. I returned to my home and 20 min later he sends me a text asking me where my road was and stating his phone was not working (but he could text). I given my address at the time I made the appt and they said they had a GPS. I gave him my address again. I called him and no answer. I get another text saying he was lost and maybe I would prefer to reschedule. After that he didn't answer his texts or calls. I called Robert who answers the main number and who I scheduled with and he said he would contact him...I never heard fro Robert either. I am actually grateful they did not find my house.... obviously not trustworthy or accountable crew. I would not recommend ever using them! read more

Heat went out on a Sunday night, so I called a few "24-Hour" services. Of course, you can't get parts on a Sunday night, so that was pointless. But Santa Fe Plumbing said "We can come tomorrow at 11:30." I thought that would be sooner than anyone else I could call Monday morning, so I said okay. 11:30 came--no plumber, no phone call. At 12:30 I called them and the office guy said, "Oh, they're finishing up a job, they're on their way. At 2:30 (still no one calling) two guys showed up. They inspected the situation for about a half hour and they said they were going to get parts (ignoring the fact that I had discussed the necessary parts with the office and assumed they would bring what was needed.) Two hours later they returned--no explanation or apology. The job then took about 15-20 minutes to complete. Bottom line, they left at 5:30 pm for an 11.30 am job that took 20 minutes to complete.
