The first times I went there, they made me pay co-pays. Then, consulting my health plan, I confirmed that I have 2 cleanings and 1 consultation totally covered, including co-pays, every year. When they understood I would not be fooled, they came up with another strategy. When my daughter went there for her cleaning, they did a "deep cleaning" on her without consulting me. It is not covered by our insurance. They also made me pay that immediately, which was embarrassing because I didn't have more than $100 on me and had to call my husband to send me the rest. I will never understand why a 15-year-old girl who never had a cavity needed a deep cleaning. Then, some time after that, it was my time to get my cleaning, and the guy told me I had to pay a $100+ because mine had to be a deep cleaning as well (which I never needed before). I canceled the appointment and sought another dentist. This month, I received a bill from them and discovered that my previous cleaning there was the so-called "deep cleaning," which they never told me about. I never had the need for a deep cleaning before, and my new dentist never said anything about me needing a deep cleaning, so it was a rip-off from aspen dental. They also wanted to put braces on me, but no dentist before or after that told me I needed braces (my teeth are very straight). They never clean your teeth on the first visit. She seems a bit worried about the whitening going too far. We go through the treatment and afterward Im handed a bag that does not have whitening trays in it. I ask Dr. Detrik where they are. He says "Oh, you really dont need them, your teeth are already white. I had them include a light that you can use instead but honestly you dont really need to." I say nope, I want trays, isnt that what you did the whole high-tech super accurate mapping of my mouth for? Isnt that what I actually came here for, and what I actually paid for? Not this light that I could have bought on Amazon for $20?" So they ORDER my trays. Mind you, I had just paid them to put goop on my teeth to open the surface of my teeth chemically to allow the HOME tray treatment to work better. You are supposed to have the treatment then follow up with whitening trays the following two weeks because THAT is when the whitening happens. At home, with the trays. The trays he didnt order at the time I paid for this treatment because he was very clear in his mind that I do not actually NEED the 3k treatment he talked me into doing. And the trays? I had made it clear at my introductory appointment back in May, that as a retired teacher, I only had six weeks of dental insurance left before my insurance ended.They booked me for June 10th (today). Now they have informed me that they can't see me until July! If I had canceled the appointment myself I would have been charged a fee of $75. The only thing Dr. Martin's office offered was to set me up with yet another dentist. That is not an option for me. My insurance won't cover me for another introductory appointment. I am really disappointed that this dental office won't make an effort to fit me into their schedule before the end of the month.
