Don't buy from Timo, incredibly unprofessional. He loves to brag about the "kingdom" he's built for himself in Santa Maria, which is code word for he has a lot of kids but he brags about how his managers are idiots and he's the "truth" (mind you these were shared during a 10 min test drive). First 30 seconds of the test drive, he asked "what do you think of Trump"? 1. Within the first 30 seconds, he started bragging about Trump and how amazing he's doing. He really wanted to get rid of all the local Mexicans because they cause all the crimes (yes, he said that). 2. He will talk about his "kingdom" and shade his managers. He brags about being all knowing since he's been in the business longer than the GM apparently. 3. Verbatim said "since you probably can't do a down payment, you can have that financed too" (mind you my down payment was 50% of car). 4. He had rude comments for every personal info I gave him, whether it was social security, address, income, occupation, partner's occupation, and more. Such as "wow your income is 3x my income even though you're so young." Yes, he makes $45k a year. 5. Lies a lot to sell, sees a random CX-90 on the street and called it a CX-5. Knows nothing about cars but talks like he does, and he drives a Nissan which is known for horrible transmissions. I asked car questions to test his knowledge, but he would rather lie than say "I don't know but I can find out with our technician." I reported his unprofessionalism to the management, but Timo is a super senior at this dealership so he probably won't be going away. Just avoid him and give the commission to someone else that deserves it more and is honest. read more

Sorry to say I'm disappointed in the way this dealership dealt with an issue we had with a car my son just bought from them! It was delivered with an issue from the Santa Maria area to Chino Hills area but they claim it happened after he took ownership and he had only driven it 2 miles and noticed it. Hard to believe the delivery person didn't notice. That is nonsense that a known issue would occur suddenly after driving it 2 miles. After conferring with all those involved they were unwilling to help us and they put it on Toyota saying they could possibly help with the issue (and thankful to God they did). It is very disheartening that they would not take any responsibility for selling a car with an issue. I strongly Recommend you throughly check out any non Mazda vehicle you buy from them. Thankfully Toyota stepped up and fixed it. read more

We bought a Mazda CR5 from Santa Maria Mazda, huge mistake, once you drive out the lot you might as well be dead. We spent a lot of time and money with this dealership and when the car was delivered the wheel lock key was nowhere in the car, we told the delivery/salesman to please get us the key as soon as possible, the next day we got NOTHING, no call, no text, and all of the sudden NOBODY IS AVAILABLE TO ANSWER THE PHONE !!! The salesman not answering the phone, the manager zip nada, the sales manager same.... I'm pretty sure we signed for an entire car no parts missing !! Has anyone else bought. New car piece by piece? Does the Lemon law apply when the dealer doesn't fulfill their end of the contract? The part that really got me steamed is that they ignore the phone calls and tell you that personnel that is there is NOT available and just because they got your signature you're now SOL. My wife and I took our 2001 Mazda Miata MX-5 into this dealership to fix 3 particular issues: 1. Leak with the transmission seal 2. Leak with the oil seal 3. Check Engine Light kept coming on due to Evap (?) exhaust issue. We were told that fixing the 3 items would take 2 weeks; and that was a joke to say the least...it took 4 weeks. More importantly, not only could they not fix a critical item - #3 the check engine light, but they screwed up our clutch when they re-assembled the car. They also screwed up the transmission when they re-assembled it on the first shot - causing the 2 week delay. Unfortunately, we are now going to have to find someone to fix the clutch. In just 4 weeks the clutch went from working perfectly to where I couldn't get it into ANY gear this morning after a short drive to run some errands. In short, we now have to sideline our car until we can find someone competent to fix it as we'll never bring any car we ever own to their dealership. As a reference point, when we had the engine completely replaced the gentlemen who did that for us did a service on the clutch and other parts of the car. For many months, and before we brought it to their dealership to fix the leaks, the clutch and every other part of the car worked perfectly. Now, we won't drive the car again until we can have it fixed....by someone competent. As a side note, I'd take this gentlemen's knowledge of Miata's over ANY service technician at their dealership. So let me recap our experience with this dealership: 1. We paid $3,000 for a service that took 4 weeks instead of 2 weeks. 2. Their technician screwed up the initial re-assembly of the transmission which delayed our pick up by almost 2 weeks. 3. Our clutch is now screwed up only a month after getting the car back from their service. 4. We'll now have to spend MORE time out of our schedule to fix their screw up. 5. They STILL - after 4 weeks - couldn't figure out the check engine light issue - which may cause smog certification issues. 6. We will AGAIN be without our car because of their service team's incompetence. Quite simply you should have the Rocky and Bullwinkle look at your car instead of these incompetent fools. read more

I really find it sad to have to give a company who is in the business of " customer service" any negativity on what should be first and foremost in their moto. There are people with this company who will out and out lie to you, in a text, on the phone. They will ask you for information on your vehicle as if to help you get maintenance but they have no intention of following up. The company says they will follow up with a confirmation email, they don't. Some of the phone numbers listed either are no longer in service or someone at their switchboard is overwhelmed and simply disconnecting calls. BUT after several days of trying to call and a whole lot of frustration, I finally reached Sebastian, an EXTREMELY helpful young man. Sebastian did in one phone call what "the other guy and he knows who I'm referring to" couldn't or wouldn't do in several communications. In my area if you absolutely cannot use anyone else to take care of your Mazda (recalls) this company will most certainly take advantage of being your only choice. read more

300 miles from my home, I lost my Mazda 3 fob after starting my car. We searched for hours with no luck while the car was running without success. I called Triple A and was advised to contact the nearest dealership which was Santa Maria Nissan Mazda. The clever gentleman in Parts explained the process and all costs and even physically checked to be sure the parts were stock. When I arrived, he turned the car off and on again to see if the fob was somewhere in the car, but it was not. To my surprise, two lovely young ladies, a Scheduler and a Cashier, offered a loaner so I could grab a bite to eat. To keep things simple, I just used their shuttle instead. The driver was pleasant so we chatted and had a few laughs. When I returned, I received a text with a link to a video where a mechanic told me the work was complete. He also checked the tires, fluids, and a few other things to ensure my safety. I was impressed! I spoke to the boss and told him everyone was so nice, so helpful and reassuring, that it was clear he was keeping his employees happy. What started out as a disastrous day became quite a wonderful experience. Next time I need a car, I will go the extra miles! read more

The cylinder head on my wife's 2016 Mazda CX9 cracked at 92k miles. It was due to a design issue, one that Mazda has created a Service Bulletin for and has since fixed on their newer models. I took our CX9 to the Santa Maria Mazda Service department to verify that the coolant loss we were experiencing was due to a cracked head and the Service Bulletin was the fix. They charged the quoted amount of $225 to verify the problem and then quoted $4700+ for the repair. I asked if they could reach out to Mazda to see if they would help cover the cost. They said that since I "didn't take the car to them for the oil changes and other maintenance", Mazda is not going to help me....! He said he would call Mazda and I never heard back from him. A waste of time and $225... I reached out to the dealership we bought it from (Bakersfield Mazda, bought it with 50k miles). I trailered it out there and they verified the issues and reached out to Mazda. They got the repair price down to $1700. It was a little more work trailering the car from the Central Coast out to the dealership, but their diligence and customer service made it worth it. FYI: Santa Maria Mazda also quoted over $1k more for the parts than any of the other dealerships. read more

SHAME ON SM NISSAN/MAZDA & RENFROW FAMILY PLEASE HELP TO SPREAD THIS INFO My husband is experiencing a severe mental illness crisis and although I felt that watching him almost die in the hospital for the past weeks was the worst thing to happen to our family it would somehow get worse!! His brain was drastically affected by his illness and in order to keep him and others on the road safe we took measures to prevent him from driving any motor vehicles we owned. In his detrimental mental state, he decided to go to SANTA MARIA NISSAN/MAZDA and purchase a vehicle. Although his impaired condition was obvious my his demeanor, slurred speech, difficulty walking, inability to keep his balance among other VERY OBVIOUS impairments they proceeded to allow him to enter into a purchase agreement and obtain a vehicle. Even after we informed them of my husbands situation, PLEADED AND BEGGED with them not to allow him to get behind the wheel of a car, informed them we would be seeking legal action they STILL PROCEEDED TO GIVE HIM A CAR. Now take into account that in their location (close to major shopping centers) there is major traffic and therefore my husband behind the wheel would be placing ALL of those lives at risk and ALL THEY CARED ABOUT WAS MAKING A SALE!! This includes YOU, YOUR FAMILY, YOUR LOVED ONES could have been KILLED by their gross negligence!! I ask you to think about that next time you are in the market for a vehicle. Called in - while sitting in my dead car - to get access to or information about the Nissan roadside assistance coverage I paid for when I bought the car. Nope. First, they had to check with a manager on something vague. He called back, but said now he had to check with finance to see if I was a real customer, what package I had ....blah blah blah. It was around 7pm, and instead of just giving me the number to Nissan Roadside assistance - so I could call the 24/7 number and service I had paid for, - they simply NEVER called back. Had I not been around people, one of whom happened to have jumper cables, I would have been stuck there and likely paying for a tow. Not impressed at all with the customer service or customer care. I've since visited the Nissan dealership in SLO and they have superb, efficient, and detailed customer care. read more

I never received a call back for my vehicle being finished and never received a consultation on any problems that were found. I essentially read the report myself when I picked my vehicle up at 6pm when I decided to go over in person. My appointment was at 11am! Also, I left several messages with management through out the day to check up on my car and never received a call back. The continued days followed and I still never heard back about the poor service I received on my last warranty maintenance oil change. This was - to me - the perfect car buying experience. After trying to deal with other Mazda dealers on a new CX-5 I was buying as a gift for my Niece, the the other dealers were adding $3,000 "Additional Dealer Markup" (READ: PROFIT), and ridiculous KARR anti-theft devices, silly "paint protection" and more. Then I found Santa Maria Mazda. Sticker price, no added dealer markup, no ridiculous profit accessories added on. I placed a deposit on a incoming CX5, they sold at sticker price - no games. They kept in touch with me every step of the way. Car was beautifully detailed and filled with gas for my Niece's arrival for delivery yesterday. Victor, our salesperson, went over all the features and accessories with my Niece, pairing phone, Apple CarPlay, controls, etc. VERY professional. I live in San Diego County, and we drove up yesterday for delivery. Shelden Flowers was the Sales Manager handling everything, and he was perfectly professional. They also worked with me to apply all applicable Mazda cash rebates. I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone in the market for a new car. read more

Purchased my 2010 Mazdaspeed here. Negotiated for a tiring 4 hours. Timos helped me out with the car purchase, although it was like dealing with typical pushy sales, they treated me very well and were very patient. Timos was my sales guy, and he makes sure you get treated right. Even after the purchase they were very courteous. The mechanic I met, and the sales were all very friendly. They gave me free tints on the rears and made sure I was happy with everything. Definitely will be stopping by here again for tune ups and fixes. read more

The review DIRECTLY relates to financing department and Mike Zepeda. We leased a 2016 Mazda 6, which we love, but after having to return to the dealership twice to re-sign lease contracts, that the Mazda employee failed to complete correctly the first two times, I began to lose trust in the finance department . When I called to express my concern , Mike Zepada was totally unprofessional and condescending. As a manager myself, I understand service recovery, but it's evident that Mike doesn't have a clue what that is. We made an appointment to test drive the car and was promised by Mike that the car would be ready and waiting for us when we got there. Nope. This last Black Friday My girlfriend bought a car from Santa Maria Mazda, she was instantly in love with a 2006 Mazda Miata. She was promised time and time again that a new clutch was installed in the vehicle. Four days later the clutch died while she was exiting santa maria way, she was nearly hit by two cars. OH so they took $2000 off for black friday, guess how much they want to fix the vehicle....$2000! If you want to be lied to, cheated and treated with disrespect by all means go to Santa Maria Mazda. The service that I revived from this dealership was over and above excellent. Lost keys to my car they sent a driver to San Luis Obispo to get a second key blank. Programed the key and out with in two hours. The waiting room is very comfortable and homey. Don't take your car any where else for service these people are the best. read more

The sales manager is your typical SCUMMY dealership employee. He would say just about anything to get you to sign those papers. But if confronted over his shady doings, he FLIPS out. No shame! The service department is also very UNPROFESSIONAL. They are all out there to make the best for themselves, there is zero respect towards customers and they won't even try to hide that they couldn't care less. I now drive 30 minutes away just to get my car serviced elsewhere and avoid this IRRESPONSIBLE bunch. I recently took my car for its first service. My appointment was at 9:00 it was done by 10:45am. All the personnel were very friendly. When I arrived a just had to wait 5mts while "Juan" my service writer reviewed my information and the procedure that they had made to my car. Also I used the shuttle service, very prompt. When I picked up my car, I found out the oil change and car wash were for FREE! I guess the first visit is complementary because I bought the vehicle here. Very nice. I just recently traded in my Nissan and purchased a new car from Huntington Beach Ford. Prior to this I called to get some information on the Nissan I purchased from this dealership in late 2015. They have no record of me ever buying a car at Santa Maria Nissan and could not give me any of the info I needed. So not only did they lose my contract like I initially wrote about but I was never even put in their system. Great job guys! :) I found out upon getting my appraisal at Huntington Beach Ford that this dealership sold me a below the basic model display car. Hence the numerous issues I had with this car over the 2 1/2 years I owned it. This car was running on its last leg under 3 years of even being driven. I drove it off the lot with under 40 miles on it and as of last month the paint was fading on numerous parts of the vehicle and a number of the emergency lights were on. They did not disclose this to me upon me getting this car. This dealership is scuzzy to say the least. Please look elsewhere. Glad I'm out of a Nissan and no longer associated with this company or this dealership. read more
