Horchata and ice tea to start

Really good food and service. Basically mom and pop place with a cool but long name. Tried a few dishes and all was good. Couldn't tell what style of Mexican it was though, maybe home recipes. Worth a try for sure. Carne asada and Chile replenished were the stand outs and of course, who doesn't love hand made tortillas. Carnitas was fried little chunks, which is not how I like it but flavors were there. Will be back.

    Tacos Dorado Combo..sauces were good.

Awesome place to eat! They just opened and its definitely a hole in the wall family run restaurant! I ordered the Tacos Dorados combo and got to try the Birria taco...and Horchata to wash it down. Will definitely come back!

This is probably my favorite Mexican kitchen. Warm hospitality, best food. Always make me feel welcome to come in. Very fresh vegetables, amazing food. This is my third time here and I'm gonna come at least once a week. I'm living little far but whenever my work gets me to this area this is my go to.

I also don't appreciate the poor attitude that two of the bartenders have been displaying lately. They have favorites and it shows a lot. I understand that when it's time to close it's time to close and go. But if you're serving other people and treating those same people nicer because they're your favorites, well that's not cool. In the end we're all patrons. We all support when consuming. But above all, it's the poor attitude that I will never pay for. I used to like coming here often. I probably will never again. I also know that occasionally in the bar they overcharge for cocktails thinking customers will not notice because they've been drinking and bartenders refuse to adjust the check. This is terrible and now you know.

Service: 5 out of 5 their employees are very pleasant and professional. They gladly answer all your foodie ingredient questions. They are more than accommodating. You will see, they are genuinely nice. As far as the ambience goes, for certain a stro g 4 out of 5. Nothing can be more comforting than to sit back and relax here. They have hi tables woth stools, as well as the hybrid style booth/table combo. Fans are always circulating and it is definitely not too stuffy. They do have music playing in the background, but it is not too loud like many places do. We have been back to try new and different dishes....all have been very tasty. A smaller and cozy place to have a nice meal. I can tell they cater to the local college students and offer a student discount. ***Hidden Bonus: their café de la olla is DELICIOUS! You can twll they make it fresh regularly and do not let it sit. It is by far waaaaay nicer than what they serve anywhere in the area. We would drive to get a nice cup in Monrovia, but this café de la olla beats it hands down. It is NOT bitter, nor is it over sweetened! So.etimes we swing by for a To-good cup. We recommend this place for everything: nice food served with a friendly smile.

We got complimentary totopos (chips), pico de gallo, red salsa and refried beans to start. Wow! The refried beans were sooooo good! So flavorful! The chips were delicious too. You can tell they're homemade. The cashier was nice when taking our order. The menudo had good flavor but we didn't care for the hominy since we're not use to eating it with menudo, only with pozole. The meat was cut in tiny pieces. We also had the chilaquilicious chilaquiles which consisted of the chilaquiles with carne asada, bacon and eggs. 1/2 salsa roja and 1/2 salsa verde. The portion was good, however the green salsa can use more flavor. It seemed plain. The red one was better for my taste, it had a Smokey chipotle flavor. Not hot at all. The carne asada could use more salt or seasoning too, seemed a little plain. We tried their salsa macha (chili oil) omg soooo goood and the perfect amount of spiciness. We took home what we didn't finish. I hate wasting something so delicious. Overall a solid 4.

There are two Fridays left if you want to partake in the seasonal dishes offered during this time, please bookmark this restaurant. We ordered the two Specials of the Day (Fri., 3/28/25): 1. Tortitas de Camaron con Mole with Nopales and Roasted potatoes (ground breaded Shrimp into small Patties with cactus) $15, served with thick handmade corn tortillas. 2. Capirotada (bread pudding with peanuts & raisins in syrup) $10. We also had Enchiladas in Poblano Mole. Each entree included a cup of Fideo soup, a side of rice and beans. I could not resist the Cafe de Olla (Mexican coffee brewed with a cinnamon stick), this was served with two cookies in a ceramic mug. This is how you would be served in someone's home. I was stunned when they brought it to me. The food was authentic, delicious, good portions. You will love how the food is plated and presented in ceramic dishes (pottery). We didn't finish and brought the rest home for dinner. I literally was transported back to my childhood, when my grandmother would cook these two same dishes during Lent. The hospitality, decor and service makes you feel like you're home. The food restrictions is part if a religious tradition, but anyone can eat these foods. Food has been excellent! My daughter kept saying delicioso (Can you say delicioso? *Dora the explorer*) haha. We've made multiple trips since our first time. Carne en su juego had a great tasting salsa. Sopes had a nice crunchiness to them. Chile relleno was very good and juicy. The enchiladas were all very good. One of the things I've enjoyed are tbe hand made tortillas, it's hard to find now a days. They have aguas frescas and it's actually fresh so they may only have one or two each day. Cafe de Olla was good, sweet but I like it (sweet tooth in me) and comes with a cookie. The baño aka restroom also has a changing table (yes no changing the baby on my lap!). We will continue to enjoy the food, service and Mas despacito. God bless

She was adamant about letting us know they close in 45 minutes. We all decided to go ahead and leave because we didn't like the tone of her voice and the time constraints.
