It's enormous -- the kind of enormous where you half-expect to find a lost civilization in the camping section. And somehow they have everything. Outdoor gear, bike shop, rentals for basically any activity you've ever considered trying drunk at a party, lift ticket discounts... if it involves fresh air and mild suffering, they've got you covered. Now let's talk about the Basementeers membership, because it deserves its own paragraph. Twenty-five dollars. Once. For life. That's not a typo. For the price of a mediocre cocktail, you get 10% off forever, plus occasional 20% Friends & Family discounts. I've made worse financial decisions in the same afternoon. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and seemingly immune to the judgment you'd deserve for asking "what's the difference between hiking and walking." Basically: go. Join. Buy things. Touch grass -- they sell gear for that too.

I…read morewould say this is for corporate, who is making the decision on the amount of credit someone receives for their trade in. I have been trading in with the Preloved department for 5 years. I like the program because the items don't end up in the landfill and someone else can use a perfectly good item. I used to love trading in and the credit was 25 to 30%, then it went to 20% then it went to 10% and now 5% for street items. I do understand camping gear is more than 5%, not much more. I would really hate to see that section go under and not be used the way it was intended, when the program was created. I imagine fewer people are bringing items when they only receive 5% on street items. I brought a street item in, which was a very nice new woman's backpack, with the tags, for $65 not including tax. I received $3.25 trade-in, that's 5%. The down grade is very disappointing. The profits could be shared, the store credit ends up going back into the store. Good luck, maintaining this section due to policies. Please reevaluate before it's too late, check for decline.

I had a very frustrating experience with Sportsman's Warehouse in Rohnert Park…read more I placed an online order that showed an estimated delivery date of June 11, 2026. The next day, I checked the website and saw the exact item was available in store. I called the Rohnert Park location and asked if they could simply switch my online order to the inventory they had in store so I could start my 10 day waiting period sooner without having to cancel and reorder. I was told that would not be a problem and that I could come into the store and begin the paperwork. After driving to the store and waiting about 45 minutes, I was told something completely different. They said I would have to cancel my online order and place a brand new order for the one they had in stock. That was not what I was told on the phone. I declined because my original online order included a $120 Sezzle promotion that reduced my total cost. Canceling and reordering would have meant losing that discount. I left the store disappointed and decided I would just wait for my original order to arrive. What really made this situation unacceptable was what happened afterward. The same day, someone from the store contacted customer service regarding my order. Then today, I received confirmation that my online order had been canceled even though I never authorized anyone to cancel it. WTF? Why would anyone cancel a customer's order without their permission, especially when they did not even process the in store purchase I originally came in for? I specifically chose to keep my online order because I did not want to lose the $120 promotion. I wasted time driving to the store, waited nearly an hour, was given conflicting information, and now my order has been canceled without my consent. This entire experience has been incredibly frustrating and reflects a serious lack of communication and customer service.

1 STAR -- Extremely Disappointing Experience…read more Absolutely horrible experience at the REI bike shop. I brought in my own wheel to have a hub swapped, and I was initially quoted $140 for the job. I received an email saying the wheel would be ready in four days, so I waited. Four days came and went -- nothing. After I reached out, I finally received a call two days later telling me they hadn't even started the work and that the price was now going to be another $100 for spokes. That was completely unacceptable. I already had access to the correct spokes for around $20. If there was going to be an additional charge, that should have been communicated clearly before taking the job and making me wait nearly a week. Then, two days later, I get another call saying the wheel is ready. Except it wasn't really "ready." They essentially built the wheel and handed it back bare bones -- no tire installed, no cassette installed, and no rotor installed. And here's the part that really irritated me: they wanted to charge me another hour of labor just to install the cassette. We're talking about installing a cassette onto the freehub -- something that takes minutes. I was honestly shocked. I've used this same REI bike shop in the past for a similar wheel build, and the experience was completely different. A few years ago, I paid around $140, and the wheel was properly put together without all of these additional charges and headaches. This time, the whole experience felt like they were looking for every possible opportunity to add another charge instead of actually helping the customer. The lack of communication was just as frustrating as the pricing. To make matters worse, I was asked to sign a release of liability essentially because I didn't pay extra for them to install the tire and cassette. At that point, I couldn't help but feel like the entire experience had become ridiculous. A bike shop should make things easier for the customer, not turn a straightforward repair into a series of unexpected charges and delays. I won't be returning to this location. After being a previous customer, I expected much better. Extremely disappointed and definitely not the level of service I expected from REI.

It is an incredible store with much selection, but the way they analyze your feet (high tech), and figure out what type shoe may be good for you, is impressive. The service is phenomenal. Stores like this shows why brick & mortar shops go out of business and people shop online instead!…read moreI would rather order ten pairs of shoes online, try them in the comfort of my own home and return the ones that didn't work out than to step foot in Fleet Feet again. The moment I entered, no one greeted me (though, subsequent customers all got a warm "Welcome In"). I waited in line at the cash register while a customer was being checked out with employee #1. Customer left and employee #1 says there are 2 customers in front of me. So I walk around and check out their shoes. I was referred to Fleet Feet from my podiatrist who recommended I come in for Oofos. I do not like to wear socks (unless going hiking, I wear socks with my Altras) and just wanted a pair of slip on shoes for everyday wear. I saw Oofos had a pair of slip on shoes and thought I would try those on so I waited. I watched 3 customers come in and they were all greeted with a "Welcome In". I watched Employee #1 help a customer in front of me and employee #2 help the second customer in front of me. Employee #3 was finally done and walks up to me and tells me "My shift is over, employee #1 or 2 will help me when they are done". I waited for 30 minutes, had to renew my parking too! It wasn't just the wait, I dont mind waiting for good customer service. At around the 30 minute mark, employee #1 who was still with his customer, walks over and asks how he can help me. I felt like he was just trying to push me out at this point. Why are you NOT giving me individual attention as you are with your current customer? I told him I have bunion pain and looking for an everyday slip on shoe. He did not suggest any items to help with my bunion pain. He did not even acknowledge my bunion pain. I mentioned I dont like wearing shoes with laces and noticed the Oofos had a pair of slip on shoes I can try. He told me to go to Beck shoes instead. I asked if I can try on the Oofos slip on shoes. He said they are limited sizes (I found out after, because that style was discontinued) and grabbed me a pair of 7.5. I tried it on anyways but it did not fit because I am a size 8. I put the shoes back, walked out the shop and will never be back again. May I suggest that Fleet Feet operate on an APPOINTMENT ONLY basis given the individualize one-on-one service that can take up to 45mins-1 hour. They have a foot scan and that can take up to 10 minutes to scan, interpret the data and explain findings to their customers. I was not offered the scan either so I will not be back!
