Five or ten minutes after reaching out to Advantage Air on Yelp, a staff member from the company (Brenda) contacted me to follow-up and schedule an appointment. She was amazing! On the day of our appointment, the technician arrived on time. In fact, Brenda contacted me beforehand to advise that he was running ahead of schedule so he could be at our home 30 minutes earlier if we were available. We were ready for him so it worked out fine. The repair technician (Joe) arrived and introduced himself. Initially, I had a question about a message displayed on our thermostat, what it meant and if it had anything to do with our AC unit not operating. His response was perfect. He explained everything in Layman's Terms and I appreciated that very much. After inspecting our AC/Heating Unit, Joe determined there were three parts that required replacement; the contactor; the capacitor; and hard start kit. He had some of the parts with him but had to leave to retrieve other parts off-site. He left but promptly returned in about 20-30 minutes, installed the parts and tested everything. Our AC unit has been working great since then and we are so pleased that we found and hired Advantage Air to make the repairs on our air conditioning unit. Thank you Brenda and Joe!!!! Best customer service ever!

The representative on the phone was very polite and friendly. She set up an appointment for me very quickly. On appointment day, Scott arrived quite promptly. Scott was very polite, friendly and professional. He thoroughly inspected the furnace and thermostat and diagnosed the problem very quickly. Fortunately, I did not need to replace the furnace. Within a few days, Scott returned and replaced the necessary parts and installed a new thermostat. I waited a couple of months to see how well the furnace operated during these winter months. Now, I am pleased to announce that everything works perfectly. Scott, and AAA Calvert, receive superior marks. The cost of the repairs were quite reasonable for the amount of time and labor the project required. This was SUPERIOR service!!! Thank you, Scott!!!

I replaced a few components that were suggested by the Technician. However, I made the mistake of not reversing the fan to my condensing unit causing my compressor to blow. I called out the Technician to confirm he worked on the unit for roughly 15 minutes then I was approached by him with a hard sell to replace my heating and air conditioning with prices ranging from 15,000 to 32,000 I received a hard sale for longer than the Technician worked on the unit, then after not agreeing to make a purchase, I was charged $200 which I feel was very unfair for the amount of time that Technician spent on the unit . Like I mentioned that Technician tried to sell me a whole new system longer than he actually did any work on my condensing unit. I had another company come out and give me a price to replace my compressor. Upon that company coming out I noticed two things that were disturbing to me. I've included pictures. Lesson learned.

Thanks to yelp, I found Thomson Hvac The tech and I thought it should be a simple fix. He inspected my entire system, diagnosed the problem, and quoted the job. We moved forward with the fix, and it worked fine, and then it didn't. After a few more visits, and some more parts and tinkering, it finally started working properly. Although it was a strange and difficult situation, they stuck to it until the problem was resolved. The techs Danny and Mark went above and beyond to make sure everything was good. Another thing to add, the way the company communicated back and forth with me was great. They answered every call and every text. Most of the time I spoke with Stacey and she was great. If you're looking for an honest and professional company, this is it.

    My mother recently engaged a service provider for routine maintenance on her air conditioning unit,…read morewhich included the installation of a new Honeywell thermostat. Subsequent to this service, she has reported that the air conditioning is not effectively cooling the premises, with only the fan operating. I advised her to adjust the thermostat to a lower setting. Given her advanced age of 90, her discomfort with the warm air became increasingly pronounced. Today, in collaboration with my brother-in-law, we investigated the issue. We observed that while the unit appeared to be functioning, it was not producing cool air, despite the outdoor fan operating correctly. During our investigation, we contacted the service provider, Thomson. A representative stated that only the thermostat had been replaced and that a service technician could be dispatched for a fee of $159, suggesting a potential wiring issue. Upon reviewing the Honeywell thermostat instructions and wiring diagram, we identified that the thermostat had been incorrectly wired to the "W" terminal. After rectifying this wiring error, the air conditioning unit resumed normal operation, producing cool air. I subsequently contacted Thomson for clarification regarding the initial service. Their response repeatedly referenced a previous replacement 14 months prior. While their online reviews are predominantly five-star, our experience suggests a lack of professionalism. This incident raises concerns about the necessity of recommended services and the quality of workmanship, potentially indicating errors or intentional oversights during the initial installation.
