Most recently I had the new digital scanning technology to image a tooth that needed a touchup. The tech was visibly frustrated with the difficulty of scanning my teeth because of my gum recession and exclaimed loudly in front of a room of juvenile patients, their parents, and staff as the seats are lined up with no privacy "Ugh It's your teeth!" I was completely humiliated about a health condition that has caused me severe depression and significant anxiety. Staff are insensitive to adult dental conditions.

My husband also made his appointment and was told a deep cleaning was needed and had to pay $500 for it. He called Anthem and was told this office wasn't participating in HMO. Since I have a background in health insurance, I called myself and got the same response. I've tried to reach the office manager at least eight times to resolve this problem. Once, without even being asked for a name, I was told that a correction was faxed and would be called back when it was done. Since starting this whole process, my husband received an explanation of benefits showing NOTHING was paid, including preventative services like x-rays. I actually never even received an explanation of benefits. Were my services even billed? I'm beyond frustrated because now it appears we have to find another dentist and start this whole process again. And, I'd like to have some of my money back!

I called the office Monday morning and was given an appointment with Dr. Bach for that same morning. I was nervous about getting a front tooth bonded, and had never met Dr. Bach before. As usual, the office got me in right on time so that I had no need to wait to go back. As soon as I met Dr. Bach, she put me at ease. The X-rays were done very quickly, and the process was actually painful -- something I've never experienced before. The cleaning was also done very fast. After the appointment, I was told I had two cavities, which shocked me- i have never had cavities and I take really good care of my teeth. I decided to get a second opinion from two other dentists, and both confirmed that I have zero cavities. Because of this experience, I felt uncomfortable with the level of care and professionalism.
