As someone originally from the Northeast, it's hard to find a decent pizza joint in LA that sells true NY style pizza. Santino's is by far the best NY pizza I've had in LA. Service is always great, it's super easy to just call directly for pickup and they usually have a pizza ready in 20-25 minutes. If you prefer to eat in person, they have a nice seating area and obviously more things on the menu than just pizza! There's street parking on Woodman or Ventura. So if you're a Sherman Oaks local or just stopping by, definitely check out Santino's for a true NYP slice.

Unfortunately, I went back twice, and those times the pizza was very mediocre. According to someone who works in the neighborhood, the pizza is not good on days a certain pizza maker is working. so hit or miss! I had really awesome pizza there once and horrible pizza there twice. I tried the meatball hero, not really good either and expensive.

I ask for thin crust, pizza and this is what I got. This is not pizza.

Looking for a good thin crust pizza in the Valley, this is your spot. We've been coming here for years. The pizza is hot and fresh. Just the right amount of cheese and sauce. It's the kind of pizza that you want to eat hot, but it burns the roof of your mouth. Never taken the pizza home, but I would definitely recommend eating in the restaurant. This is the type of pizza that doesn't stay hot long...and it's definitely worth eating fresh! The service has always been very polite and helpful. The staff is always friendly. The restaurant is small, but it feels just like the countless pizza joints I've been to in the east coast. I would definitely recommend.

Santino's Pizza has always been one of my favorite places to get pizza pies. There are a bunch of places in LA now that make great pizzas and different styles, but I always find myself craving Santino's. I think it's their pizza sauce! Not too acidic or sweet, kinda like a "Marcella Hazan's tomato sauce" in my opinion. In addition, they use fresh topping ingredients and the ratio of cheese to ingredients to sauce are always perfect! Never soggy. Santino's pizzas are thin crusted all the way around and doesn't have a thick fluffy edge or crust. This thin crust pizza comes out chewy; and if you eat it right away has a slight crisp- it's good stuff! My absolute favorite is their version of Margherita Pizza. It's excellent! In my neighborhood nothing compares to Santino's, so I make the drive to Sherman Oaks when I can. Sherman Oaks area has great pizza spots and Santino's is one of them.

Love this NY style pizzeria! Popped in here for a slice of cheese pizza and a drink. The gentleman at the counter was super friendly and the thin crust pizza slice was delicious. The inside is small with 5 tables but I really liked it. Street parking can be tricky around here but there's parking behind the restaurant.

Well, this is pretty good pizza. And the antipasto salad was amazing. Very good tavern style thin crust. I wouldn't call it New York but they do. Didn't try the Sicilian. I'll put it up in another review. Yep, I'll be back. The pie was pretty good. The sauce is lightly seasoned and all the toppings on the Everything pizza were well balanced. We got a pep and extra cheese for balance and it holds a fold, with no topping slide off. Even on the 10 topping Everything pizza. Really good cheese, and a good tavern style dry, crisp crust. They say they do cheese slices during the day. It's worth a stop. If you're walking by. Parking is a bit tight. The place itself is a counter style spot, I think there was two tables and chairs. The antipasto salad was fantastic with good helpings of everything. That's a must try. Like I said, we'll be back!

Thin crust that is very flavorful, good sauce, not too much cheese, just enough, not that deep dish stuff that midwestern people think is pizza but is something else entirely. When I first moved here, you could not get the real deal, it was disappointing. Then the grandson of Regina's Pizza in the north End opened up the Pizza Connection is Canoga Park and it was really good. He opened a bunch of other locations but over time, not sure why, the pizza just wasn't as good. My child Emily Asher Kellis disagrees, still loves it, but she was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, so what does she really know about pizza. After trying a bunch of different "New York City" pizza joints that were just ok, we found Santino's NY Pizza in Sherman Oaks and were very happy with it, authentic East Coast pizza. Well last week I discovered they went out of business. Oh no, what were we going to do? So I researched and found there was a place in Sherman Oaks called The Pizza Wagon of Brooklyn, only two locations, here and in Brooklyn and people said it was the real deal. Tonight we tried it, and you know what, it might just be even better. Santino's sauce had a slight sweetness to it that we liked that this doesn't but the sauce is good, and the crust is even more flavorful and they are a bit more liberal with the olive oil usage, which true East Coasters love while I am told that most health conscious Southern Californians do not. Anyway, we are quite happy that we can continue to get our pizza craving satisfied when we just gotta have some slices.

There's always space for shops like this that keep things simple and stay in their lane. Today I tried a slice of their Eggplant and one of their Pesto. The eggplant was good, but the Pesto was great. The eggplant needed a bit more flavor, whereas the pesto was rich and paired perfectly with the ricotta. The staff here is awesome. They're always ready to help and since it's a small space inside, they'll keep to themselves if you eat in there. If the weather is good, I prefer to eat out front. Despite the busy street, it's surprisingly peaceful with a slice in hand. Pizza Wagon of Brooklyn is a great option if you're close by and looking for a solid, cheap slice!

After all, some things lose their soul when they leave home. I am happy to confirm, this is not one of them. The remarkable thing is not that the pizza is good. It's that it feels faithful. Somehow they've captured the character of the original, right down to the chew of the crust and the balance of flavors that made people fall in love with it in the first place. They must be sourcing their water from New York, because they absolutely nailed it. Yes, it's expensive. Then again, so is nearly everything in Los Angeles, especially in Studio City. The difference here is that the price fades from memory the moment the pizza hits the table. This is one of those rare places where the product justifies the cost. If it's your first visit, begin with the Prince Perfection. Then make your way to the Spicy Pepperoni Slice, a piece of pizza that borders on indulgence and somehow still leaves you wanting another bite. Good pizza fills you up. Great pizza stays with you. Prince Street Pizza belongs firmly in the latter category.

So naturally, when we learned of the existence of Prince Street Pizza, it was "added to the list." We tried a basic NY slice, a Green Machine NYC slice, a Sicilian Prince Street Perfection, and Sunset Square slices. They were all good with decent flavor. We think the dough was slightly undercooked on the Sicilian slices, but generally thought these were worthwhile slices to have, miles above chain or basic Italian restaurant pizza...but not our favorite from similar offerings at other newer local spots. If we lived nearby (We don't; we drove from Santa Clarita to check it out), it would definitely be a part of our regular rotation.
