I have been wanting to give this place a try since it opened. It's very close to my house. Literally 7 minutes away driving distance. After reading the reviews and getting mixed feelings about Joe's Pizza, decided to stop by yesterday around 1:40pm to make my own judgement & determination based on my dining experience. Went in and the windows/dividers that are close to their ordering/receiving counter was high, and didn't see anyone there. I had to get the attention of the employee. Karina, with a sweet, pleasant smile gave me a nice greeting and took my order. I ordered their Gluten Free Friendly Cheese (12 inches) Cauliflower crust, with marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese and added my own toppings. Went ahead with:Mushrooms, Bell Peppers, Black Olives.$21.00.(that was just the cost of the pizza) the rest was extra. I have noticed on the receipt that it said onions, I told her about it, and she kept saying "don't worry about it" I hate when people say that to me when it's their own mistake. I also got an order of standard size Cesar Salad ($14.00) & that was all.The salad was covered with a lot of shaved Parmesan Cheese which is NOT my favorite; and I wasn't warned about it. So I had to completely remove all the cheese so I could see the actual salad. Was a HUGE portion. Pizza was fresh, hot, crispy and good. So was the salad. Place was disorganized and somewhat clean. They have a big T.V and Lana Del Ray's music was a bit loud and distracting. Gender Neutral restroom; and parking shared with multiple businesses. They serve Subs, Salads, Pizza, Pasta, & Calzones. Also have multiple other locations Nation Wide. They also sell Pizza by the slice. I will return and try other items from their menu. A lot of to- go orders and 3rd party orders. I have been here for a while and my kid love here too. We ordered 2 slices each and got soda for free as lunch special. Like $14 sth with tax. I really like my caprese slice. My Bbq chicken slice is a bit dry. My kid got 2 pepperoni slices and he liked them. It's pretty fast service and they clean the table and chair very nicely. Nice place for a quick bite! read more

Been twice since the last review and both times the tables were sticky and dusty with food particles from previous diners. What's going on guys? Just wipe the tables down as part of your SOP. I agree with the other posters as well about the harsh oven flavor. -1 star from last review. read more

11pm pit stop bc my dad will use unbelievable amounts of gas milage for food. as a napoleon, deep dish pizza girly I'm not someone who typically ever gets nyc pizza. nonetheless, the crust was crunchy on the outside, but still doughy and soft with a bite while piping hot, so i still got my warm fluffy breads fix. definitely needed more char and smokiness though, but salt on the table helped ig. the garlic bread had like no taste whatsoever not even salty, but whateves ig. my fav was definitely the bbq chicken but that's bc i like anything sweet that'll give me diabetes. the mozzerella on the caprese was super yum though, no complaints about that. I'm not a big pizza person but this place was delicious, fast and affordable. I got a bbq chicken slice with garlic knots and the pizza was delicious. The crust was crispy and it was satisfying. The garlic knots could have definitely been hotter and I was not a fan of dipping lukewarm garlic knots into freezing cold marinara (it seemed like it just came out the fridge). We got to meet Joe which was very cool. There is parking on the side streets if the lot is full. read more

Delicious pizzas!! This is the famous Joes pizza so we were super excited to try this out and eat there. Calzone was really good and the pepperoni was so good. I love their shaker toppings adding all of them really makes a difference. Their sauce is sooo good!! Only comment is their extra toppings for the calzone are VERY overpriced, menu says $1 for each add on but that's not true. It depends on what add ons so that was bs. The salad was also a standard basic salad, nothing special. Other than that staff was super nice and we would come back for pizza! read more

To clear things up, in my original review three weeks ago, I thought this was Joe Peep's for some reason, that one has been around forever and that's what I thought I was reviewing. I'm leaving this followup because I had my same late night craving - ordered a slice with pepperoni, onions, sausage, and mushrooms and a Sicilian slice. I have to be truthful - those who follow my reviews know that I am always truthful. The slice with pepperoni etc. had obviously been sitting around for hours. To then throw some onions and mushrooms on it but not give it the heat it needs for those ingredients to make sense - well, not good, Joe's. It arrived ice cold and you are only seven minutes from me. Missing in action was the sausage. One pays for sausage, one expects, I don't know, call me crazy, sausage. I heated it up in the microwave and ate it, but it was not good. On to the Sicilian slice, which also looked like it had been sitting for a few hours and also arrived ice cold. Ate half, tossed the other half. While I understand late night slices can be challenging, if you're open and offering, then they better be good slices. As to Joe Peep's - it's still there and still mediocre. read more

Just went in to get some pizza. Guy working was in a bad mood, we all have those days so I ordered three cheese slices. He picked ones that were burned and I asked if I could choose the other slices next to it. He got angry and said they are all the same so I said forget it and left. I'm not asking for a favor I'm paying for a product. I was respectful because I get good service work is tough. The BEST!!! We were in L.A. for an event & stumbled across a place to eat my hubby wanted. I saw Joe's Pizza, New York style pizza, sold by the slice. I got 1 slice of cheese pizza & it was fabulous!!! So we bought a whole pizza to take home along with 2 cannoli's! Absolutely delicious! We have already told a few friends and plan to go back! I have been a lifelong Joe's pizza fan. I used to eat it in NY and I've had it in multiple Los Angeles locations since Hollywood location opened in 2011. Of course NY is always the winner but both Hollywood locations , Downtown, and Sherman Oaks are for the most, decent but like most restaurants in LA rarely consistent depending on who's making the pies. However. This studio city location is awful!! I wish I could give it negative stars! More than 2 handfuls of times I have walked into this place and the slices have been sitting around for ages and are completely burnt to a crisp. I don't know if it's because this location has electronic ovens. Either way, we usually walk right out when seeing this. To make things even worse it is usually filthy inside and on more than 1 occasion my family has tried to go within an hour or more before they are supposed to close and they are closing early. Come on Joe I know you can do a lot better than this!!! I know it is easy for you to cater to drunken bar clientele in this area but that is no excuse. Stop chasing the mighty $$ continuing to open more locations and either close this pitiful location down or better yet give it a nice revamp & worthwhile management worthy of TRUE Classic NY quality!! read more

The one positive thing about rainy weather is that you don't have to overthink on what to cook, you can just order a pizza. With Joe's Pizza recently opening up a location here in Studio City, it was the perfect excuse for my wife and I to do just that. Joe's Pizza Studio City is located inside a shopping plaza near the intersection of Ventura/Vineland and there is plenty of free parking. This location is fairly new and feels very modern. When I went, it was clean and there were plenty of tables and chairs for indoor dining. Shout out to Jose who was extremely helpful and generous since there was an error with my carry out order. He was apologetic and even gave me free garlic knots as I had to wait a little bit longer than expected. Thank you Jose for your kind hospitality! Since it was our first time trying Joe's Pizza, we wanted to do half pepperoni and half white. It is a nice touch having the option to do a half pie so you can try different toppings. I liked this place at first, but it quickly went downhill. The inside of the restaurant is consistently dirty: greasey tables, chairs everywhere, and no Parmesan cheese at the tables (except the crumbs on the surface). The owner's informed me of a neighbors discount that never got honored after that. The staff is rude, and never acknowledge customers walking in. The pizza used to be good, but now it's just dry, lacks flavor, and the slices got smaller with the prices going up. Save yourself the money and go to Fernando's up the street for better NY style pizza. Would like to see this location replaced with something else. read more

Ordered the Supreme and it was fantastic! One the best tasting and one of the most delicious pizzas I've ever had! Passed by the shop in New York didn't have time to stop by and I am delighted to try it in Los Angeles! The toppings were well balanced the dough is a perfect example of a New York pizza. I recently had a Party and had ordered a few pies for the shin dig. I didn't personally pick up the pizzas, but I was able to order a few hours before and had a friend pick up on the way. I wanted to say that "Michael" who worked the phone at Pizza place was very helpful. I did pay in advance, but had to co-ordinate to have pies picked up a little later rather than having pies way too early. We had tried Joe's pizza before in Chelsea in NYC, but it was piping hot and was good. This is still good and it was nice to share with people a New York style pizza. We had ordered 2 pepperoni's, 1 White pizza, and a Cheese. I asked if he had any difficulties picking up and my friend said Michael had everything ready to go. The pizza is good, the cheese and pepperoni especially, and the pasta is hit or miss. Most of all the service is just so lackluster. Employees might greet you when you walk in, they likely won't take your order unless you make yourself known. Place your order ahead and by the time you're ready to pick it up, they haven't even started. And the music is so loud you can't hear yourself think. It would take so little effort to make this place feel welcoming but right now, I wouldn't choose this place over any other food spot in the area unless I was really craving pizza. Not sure what is going on with this specific location, but there were several issues. The employees were not friendly at all, which has been mentioned in some of the previous reviews. Pizza itself was not crispy and real floppy compared to other Joes I've been to. Sauce to toppings to crust ratio was way off and just missed the mark big time. If you're craving a New York style slice (or entire pie) of pizza, this is the spot for you. We got slices of the cheese, caprese, and bbq chicken. They were all tasty but my favorite was the caprese, closely followed by the cheese. FYI it's a thin crust pizza, even thinner than the ones you find in NYC.
