This is our family's favorite place to get a very tasty vegetable quesadilla. It is very casual and feels like eating out at a friend's home, no rushing to finish the meal. The quesadilla is large so you may find you can get leftovers enough for a second meal, and the tortillas themselves are quite good. read more

GReat little family owned restaurant in the middle of little town. Had the juicy New York steak sandwich and some really fresh asada fries! Not to forget the amazing sweet flan for desert, way beyond my expectations for a small town restaurant. Terrible customer service, couldn't get a simple shrimp salad order right. We call to get it fixed and after making us wait 20 mins and giving back their chicken salad they give us back a salad with 6 little over cooked shrimps and they still charge us the difference after the inconvenience, first and last time here.. could have made my own damn salad at pizza plus for half the price if I would have known before hand smh read more

Well...we came in mid-week for dinner. Nobody was there and a woman came up and asked us what we wanted to drink. I had never seen her in there or around but we gave her our order thinking maybe a new waitress? Nope. After listening to her talking to who was suppose to be our waitress we determined a lot. She hadn't been in in a very long time, kept getting info from the real waitress like who is here when you count the money?, Are you alone?, How do you prepare your salads??? Etc. That was wierd, she left about 20 minutes after we got there. At least she didn't ask us for any other drinks she could bring us. We thought if this happened again how would we of handled it. So santi's is now under new ownership. I have been coming here since it has been open with the prior ownership. I tried the posole for the first time and was a little disappointed on the quantity of meat. The flavor was great, however I did not finish it because there was not enough meat. I recently turned 50, & I say this solely as a point of reference. This is my first restaurant review, that is not from a "raving fan" in my life, as for 32 of 50 years I have worked in food service, with 25 being a manager. Here we go....... For 3 days I have been dog watching for my child, & sadly the house has no A/C, so to treat myself I went to Downton Newman to Javi's Mexican grill (formerly Santi's) Simple order the #19, tostada SERVED WITH beans. $ 8.95 menu price. I asked the server if rice can be served with the meal instead of beans. "No problem", Paid & tipped, & after getting home, settled the 5 dogs in so that I could enjoy my meal . I open the $8.95 to go box & inside is a 6" tostada with rice on the shell, then all the rest, but no side of anything. No problem, I called to ask for the meal from the menu, & had 2 different servers tell me "well that's what you ordered, a tostada with rice on it, and #19 served with beans means beans come on it, & none come on the side" I then asked her to read to me any meal from the dinners menu, & all are "served with" something. I asked if the enchilada dinner served with rice & beans has them on the enchiladas? BOTH of the servers let me know "of course not, but #19, for $8.95, when is says "served with" means it is part of the main dish, & not a side served to make the 6" tostada a meal. Never once was I offered the side of rice I expected, Never was I offered to have a new" meal made (after waiting 2 hours to "get ready" to enjoy my wonderful meal) So then for the first time in 50 years, and completely against my respect for all owners in the industry, I asked for a refund. Sure they gave it to me. Then made sure I knew I jacked up my own dinner, and "I'll let the manager know" WOW I thought after 32 years I saw it all. Well, I am down the block at their competitor, taking home a tostada & rice, & feeling like I need to get out my Sharpie, and make a sign. Sorry, let me fix it, would have made me into that "raving fan" I referred to so many words ago........ read more
