While in Danville, we tried Falafel Boy and were incredibly impressed. Hartz Ave. has a lot of amazing spots next to one another, but we were specifically looking for something a bit more on the healthier side + fast-casual. Falafel Boy did the trick! I appreciate they have a kiddo menu and also that they offer Haloumi Cheese as an option for their wraps/plates/bowls/sides. I ordered a Grilled Haloumi Cheese Bowl that was absolutely delicious. It came with a choice of arugula salad, tumeric rice, or 1/2 and 1/2. I chose the 1/2 and 1/2 ~ the bowl was accompanied also with fried eggplant, cucumbers, hummus, tahini sauce, and pomegranate molasses. My husband ordered a steak shawarma plate ~ the steak was cut perfectly for our kiddo to enjoy too! We also did a cold mezze side of hummus with pita. There is interior/exterior seating. Order at the register, food is delivered to you. The staff was incredibly accommodating on a busy weekend afternoon, and offered extra napkins/silverware/and ask for the hot sauce! Writing this, I can't believe we didn't try the falafel! But that leaves room for next time. Street parking can be found in front of restaurant and there is a lot in back of restaurant too. I would recommend patience when finding parking on Hartz Ave :) The food was very fresh, hearty portions, came hot and in great timing, fair pricing, and a nice array of meat/veg options. Review is for Doordash order: Falafel Boy is a restaurant we seem to order on a weekly basis. The simple reason is that our 5yo son is an extremely picky eater, and for some reason he is a huge fan of the Kid's Chicken and Rice bowl. The rice is Turmeric rice, and completely yellow and seasoned. Chicken is boneless and seasoned but usually on the dry side. Doesn't matter / our son has been known to finish half to all of a bowl by himself for lunch. Recently we've been getting double orders to have a backup dinner option. As for the adults, I occasionally enjoy their lamb kabobs and Chicken Shawarma, while the wife is a fan of the Shrimp Kabobs. I usually opted out for meat wraps over falafel, but unlike other falafels I have had in the past, the falafel wrap here is very soft and juicy. The portion size is great as well for less than $15 including tax. Will be back! read more

The food came out in a fairly timed manner, the dishes were presented nicer than I was imagining on nice square plates and the food presentation was good. The food was good, but it also didn't remind me of traditional wraps or flavors I was anticipating. While the food we ordered did come with dipped sauces - which were still good, I just wish they all came with the garlic paste / sauce (especially for the wrap). The falafels were nice appetizers / side dish. The dolmas were nice, but I have had better ones before - but it's not all the time you'd come across dolmas so I would prob order them again if I came back here just because. I would also order the falafel again if I were to return in addition to a main. Dined outside - recommend if the weather is nice! The patio is open and has places for small and an area for a large group - umbrellas for shade and an area to buss your own tables if you choose to dine in. I recently went here with my co-workers and all of us loved the dishes we ordered. I had the chicken shwarma bowl with salad and it was absolutely delicious! The flavors and presentation were excellent! The service was very friendly and efficient! Super nice people behind the counter who bring the food out to you! We loved being able to sit outdoors, too. (No Kefta) it was a nice cool day so we sat on the patio and had the following: Beef and lamb shawarma plate 4/5 served with turmeric rice, cabbage slaw and hummus. The hummus was good. Lamb kabobs 3.5/5 two tiny skewers of lamb with some veggies. Served with rice, cabbage slaw, hummus and pita bread. Tasted ok small portion. Babaghnoush 4/5 Huge tub portion for $8.99 with grilled pita. Lentil soup 3.5 /5 just ok Service was good. Plenty of free parking in the lot behind the restaurant. The patio side walk needs to be pressure washed. Otherwise I would bring my doggo and sit on the patio. read more

The Vegan Plate was a colorful combination of yellow turmeric rice topped with falafels, fried cauliflower, grilled onions/peppers, and fresh cucumbers/tomatoes, all drizzled with tahini sauce. New favorite Mediterranean restaurant. I don't know how long falafel boy has been here but it's never popped up in my search for a new spot and I'm so happy it did now. Everything was so fresh! The fries and falafel were piping hot. Quality produce and large servings, everything tasted absolutely amazing. They clearly mark their vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options which is such a small thing to do, but makes such a big difference to those with allergy or specific dietary needs. We tried the vegan falafel bowl, vegan falafel wrap, hummus, babaghanouge, grape leaves, regular fries, and curly fries and have absolutely no criticism of anything! I've been to this location twice now and I've ordered the falafels and they are delicious! They are NOT dry and they are fried perfectly every time. Since I didn't have much of an appetite I only ordered the side order of falafels for myself and curly fries for a coworker. The sauce that comes with the falafels is delicious and you can eat it by itself. The curly fries were very good too! I will def go back again to try more items including the wraps. read more

The prices are pretty expensive for the quantity and quality of the products. The salad was wilted and rice was crunchy. Chicken was dry. The sauces provided was nothing to special and the yogurt sauce was bland. The chicken wrap was ok, but contents were dry as well. Mind you, this was a promotional event at Music in the Park, but still not a great way to gain customers with ok food. Vegan done right! Tonight, we decided to see if there were any restaurants that we haven't tried for a quick dinner before back-to-school night. We noticed the sign for Falafel Boy being attached to the side of the building, there was not an Open sign, but we saw people inside and it looked like they were cooking, so we parked, walked walked in. There wasn't a menu available because today was their first day open and we just happened to stroll in as the first customers. The menu online isn't what is available for opening hour, but we didn't want to wait so we ordered the available chicken shawarma and a vegan bowl. My partner felt that the shawarma was okay. For my vegan order, I was surprisingly happy with the flavor-infused sauces: the hummus was lemon heaven and the rice had hints of turmeric and cardamom - delicious! I really like the food here and have been coming here for some time now. I normally get the chicken wrap but today, decided to do the lamb & beef. I got ripped off. First of all, the wrap is $15.95. Thats not what's in their chicken wrap and certainly their bowl (same stuff but in a bowl), didn't have falafel in it because I also got a bowl (lamb & beef), for my son. I looked in it and no falafel. So... since they wrapped it up, they put falafel to stuff it up to look generous with lamb & beef but I got mouthfuls of falafel. I even ordered a side of falafel!! I think that's pretty dirty of them to do this. I don't like to be cheated. So I won't be going back unfortunately. Thats too bad, Falafel Boy! Because I come with lots of friends every week. They just opened up so I assume that's why the rotisserie was not being used, maybe they are waiting for larger crowds. Everything is flat iron grilled. I ordered the Chicken Shawerma Wrap. It comes with salad and hot sauce. The salad is shredded purple cabbage and carrots with chopped parsley and other spices. 3 Stars. it was ok, light on flavor and the size amounts to a tasting, maybe 1/4 cup. The hot sauce was good, it doesn't seem homemade, but they did pick a solid hot sauce. The Chicken Shawerma was ok, 3 stars, it might be better when they use the rotisserie. I'll give them another try then.. The rest was good, garlic sauce and Persian pickle inside. Kudos for the double wrap lavish. They wrap it like a burrito so both ends are holding in the stuff. They serve it cut in half, but when you eat the stuff does not fall out. Most wrap places leave one end openand open and then cut in half so one side it just waiting for a mess. Ive thought about it and don't usually like to leave a bad review but must advise the chicken shawarma was the worst order 'taste wise' from any restaurant in a long time. I eat out 5x weekly and this was a very bad boy. Dry meat, non existent sauce to make it even edible (was charged extra for taziki after we paid) , no veggies at all on in or outside and left with very dry rolled thing in a dry flour tortilla and then grill pressed to let any and moisture left inside escape. You'd think the high school kids would go here for tasty cheap and different from what they eat at home but apparently they know better than to waste their money here...on Main Street near to the fabulous jersey mikes. So when I was back in Danville for the holidays I stopped in to Falafel Boys to look at the menu and I heard someone say "Yahood" (Arabic for Jew). I spun around to see who said it but couldn't identify the person. No way I'm going to patronize a racist business, so I started to walk out and I heard laughing along with another reference to "Yahoodim" and the name "Majeed" (or something that sounds like that).
