    Wow! I am so pleasantly surprised by this ramen spot at the airport! The broth itself was packed with flavor making me very excited about this bowl of tonkotsu miso ramen! Rich in flavor with mushrooms, bamboo shoots, and pork belly! I also really loved that the ramen itself came so piping hot. Just the rejuvenating meal you need while traveling! My only wish was that the pork belly itself was more tender and less chewy! Otherwise, I would definitely order from this restaurant again should I find myself in LAX!

    Tonkatsu Ramen $22, miso. Very salty so I don't recommend it. The beef rice bowl $18 was decent and a safe choice. Aluminum bottled water $6 each. Service was fast. Chef in the kitchen kept coughing so that was worrisome. Tables were gross so I had to ask for wet napkins to wipe them down. Instead they handed me a bottle of cleaning spray and paper towels... and said just bring it back..... hmmm not the best service but it is what it is.

    Decided to try this walk up spot at the airport before my flight. My boyfriend got it before me and said it was pretty big for the price. I got the spicy teriyaki chicken rice bowl and it came out to just over $19. But the bowl is huge and heavy and was delicious. They have all their food on display so you can see how big it is and what comes in it. The staff were quick and friendly and there's quite a lot of seating so you can eat there especially if you order their ramen which looked really good.

    Very good solid 5 for this ramen!! Specially being at the airport. Whenever I travel- soups is all I want. Love that they have fish broth and pork broth. Since I don't eat pork, fish broth was perfect. It was very tasty!

    For being an airport restaurant, the ramen was pretty good. I especially liked that the noodles were al dente. Broth was flavorful. It was however very greasy. There is a layer of fat on the surface, making it less appealing. The ramen came with bamboo shoots and mushrooms. The pork was okay, it would be better if there were more than two slices of it. I did like that you get a $1 discount for a musubi if you purchase a ramen with it. It was perfect as a snack on the plane.

    The food was great, Service is kind of not too great, but I'll give them a five star. Very quiet out here.

    Chicken Karaage, drenched in soy sauce making it inedible. The rice is extra salty. Please do not buy.

We ordered a chicken karaage to start and it wasn't bad, nothing to write home about though. Since the pieces were large, it was slightly awkward to eat without any plates, and I was just catching the crumbs with my hand (didn't have the ramens at the time). Also got a yuzu beer to try and it was delicious, nice yuzu flavor with some tanginess. I had the shoyu with duck while my husband had the yama tonkotsu that came with fragrant black garlic oil. The tonkotsu is not one of those rich, milky, creamy ones and I personally like these lighter ones more. I also enjoyed the shoyu which had a pleasant depth of flavor, but it felt like it was relying too heavily on MSG for umami. Noodles came out chewy. Definitely not the best ramens I've had but are some of the better ones in LA. Our server was friendly, as were the rest of the staff. Service was quick. The restaurant decor feels straight out of Japan, an extra bit of fun. There's a $10 paid lot behind this block of buildings that's convenient for anything in this part of Little Tokyo.

IF you're lucky enough to get street parking, go buy a lotto ticket on your way home. Parking structures near by. We shared: Agedashi eggplant: Japanese eggplant beautifully "fan" sliced. Dashi was VERY good. Generous amount of grated daikon. Assort. Tempura: Saw this being served while waiting. Looked really good and it WAS! Large shiitake mushroom. Fan cut Japanese eggplant, kabocha pumpkin, shrimp tempura & two (2) shiso leaves. All VERY crisp not oily. Warm dashi side had deep umami rich flavor. Probably made the legit kombu & bonita flake method. #1 ordered the Miso carbonara: garlicky carbonara served with their signature house-rolled out udon. Wonderful dish. Portion sizes were adequate. #2 ordered the Uni carbonara: same garlicky carbonara with uni bits strewn about. Estimating one whole uni broken. This actually works for ease of eating. Plus, uni ranges in the $18/oz on the low end to $60 or more/oz on the higher end. Yes we love & appreciate their gonads. Udon noodles were chewy, bouncy & worth the wait. Yeah yeah....the dough is purchased. Not house made. But, seriously you've seen the YouTube videos of restaurants specializing in Japan? Yes there are places in LA who make their dough & roll it out. It's Hella lot of work! Yamachan produces large scale udon/ramen in San Jose. It's fine. Let them work out the dough to water ratio. Also portion size was decent since we shared a couple apps. Might want to consider the option of extra noodles. The table to our right full of younger male co-workers were there to socialize. They probably all grabbed an afternoon snack. I ordered the spicy pork tsukemen. The noodles were a bit soft that I think they were overcooked for a few seconds longer. It didn't have the chewy bouncy texture that I was expecting. The broth seemed to be missing a few toppings that was promised in the menu, there was no green onion, chopped chashu and menma. Overall I enjoyed the ramen, and it was still good, but just not as good as I remembered. The service was just okay as well. I did think the waitress tried her best, but she was the only one person working during Sunday lunchtime. It was very hard to get her attention. I can't help but feel a bit disappointed with this experience. I'm not sure if I'm going to come back.

It had that texture and consistency you would really want from an omelette of that nature. The pork and shrimp fried rice tasted a little light in the seasoning and flavor, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The gravy was also lighter than a heavy gravy as well. When the food came out, I thought the meal would be deeply heavy due to the quantity and the gravy, but it still felt a bit light and manageable, which was kind of outside of my expectations, so that was pretty interesting. I do like the chicken soup this comes with. It has a nice flavorful broth where you could tell it was made well too. The service here is pretty good and attentive. The ambiance is nice but pretty busy. Also, if you come on the weekend, expect to wait a bit because a lot of people do want to eat here and the line can become a bit backed up.
