Our first pizza in Rome. This place was highly reviewed on Yelp. We sat outside on the patio. Service was ok, but it wasn't totally attentive. Light and chewy pizza crust. The pizza was devoured quickly, although I cannot recall the actual pizza order. It was with sausage. I really enjoyed the Greek salad. It came with two big chunks of fresh feta. It was a pretty big bowl of salad. Restroom was really small and slightly confusing for an American. No toilet seat and a push button flush on the side.
Our goal while visiting, Rome was to enjoy as much pizza and pasta we could. We found this place while searching online, and it turned out. It wasn't too far from where our hotel was. We walked over and this quaint cute little place was perfect. There's plenty of outdoor seating and a few tables located inside. The staff was very accommodating, getting us seated right away and working on getting us our drink order. My husband enjoyed a Margherita pizza while I enjoyed the cacio e pepe pasta - and both were very flavorful and I would order again. Despite it being so hot outside, neither sat heavy and they were both full of flavor. Not only that, we found this place to be a little bit more affordable than some other places we had already visited, but the food was significantly better. I definitely would recommend this location to anyone visiting or locals alike because the food is fantastic and the people are very nice . Also, they have air conditioning for when the hot summer heat is a bit too unbearable, perfect way to cool off and enjoy delicious food.
Very tasty, nice wait staff. The food was great. We had the insalata greca, rigatoni alla amatriciana, lasagna, margherita pzza, and calabrese pizza (without onion, add salami). Delicious. My husband said the lasagna was the second best he has had (the best being by a friend of ours from Modena). The table was a little bit small, but that's the only complaint. It's a small place, so expect small quarters and busy staff. Great place!
I had a pretty loose food itinerary during my time in Roma, as such I was consulting multiple resources on the fly when determining where to eat based on our location and what we were feeling. We were in the mood for pizza, and during my searches I stumbled upon Sapori e Delizie - reviews looked great as did the photos, so the deal was pretty much sealed. Sapori e Delizie is in the Monti neighborhood of Roma which is an area we had not been to yet, I wouldn't call this the most touristy area but there was still a good amount going on. The restaurant is located on a somewhat quiet street, and upon arrival it wasn't too busy so we were seated right away. It's a small restaurant, I would say they had 4 or 5 tables inside with a few more outside. The star of the menu is pizza - they have a large variety of topping combinations, as well as a selection of pastas and a few other dishes. We decided to split a pizza and get pastas as our main. To start, though, we decided to get a Caprese salad; this had the usual suspects of mozz and tomato but they subbed the basil out for lettuce. I'm kind of a purist when it comes to Caprese so it wasn't my favorite, but the ingredients were fresh and the salad was dressed nicely - flavors were great just the execution was not what I'm used to. For pizza we split the artichoke and sausage; this was delicious - thin, brick-oven style crust that was slightly chewy. The toppings complemented each other well and everything tasted fresh. For pasta I had the cacio e pepe which is one of the six Roman pastas. The dish was great, and I was happily surprised at how light the dish was. I'm used to cacio e pepe dishes in the US that use cream and are relatively heavy, but the true dish only contains pecorino romano and black pepper; it was a premier plate of pasta. Service was great - everyone was friendly and our food came out at a good pace. Overall, I'm so glad I found Sapori e Delizie - the food was delicious and this whole experience was a happy surprise. I would definitely consider returning the next time I'm in Roma.
Probably our second favorite meal in Rome (which sounds bad, but really is amazing). We ate here for lunch one day and very much enjoyed it. Nice that it's off the touristy drag a bit which contributes to a more chill vibe. Service was also kind. Both of our pastas were very good, but we both preferred the carbonara! Pasta is extremely fresh and leaves you feeling full but not uncomfortably stuffed. Very good, and we noticed a lot of locals eating here (which is probably a good sign!)
Intro: After a good deal of sightseeing in Rome, I was ready for lunch. Sapori e Delizie was on my list and they were close to where I was, so I made my way over. I was seated promptly inside. Ambiance (4/5): They have a few tables outside which is my usual go-to when I'm in Europe. Al fresco dining is the way to go. But the interior was nice too. Even though there wasn't A/C, it was still comfortable while I was there. Service (4.5): European service is typically slow and inattentive. At Sapori e Delizie, the service was better than the norm. I did have to grab the attention of my waiter here and there, but that was to be expected. One of the waiters was also quite the comedian. He would mess around with customers when they would take their orders which was entertaining to see. Quite the character! Drinks (N/A): I had a lemonade so not much to mention here! Food (5/5): Sapori e Delizie is known for their pizza and for good reason! I had the bufala pizza which is essentially a Margherita pizza with bufala mozzarella instead of regular mozzarella. I love the heft and flavor of bufala mozzarella so this was perfect. The prices are reasonable and the pizzas are large. I took half of it home. To end my dining experience, I had some tiramisu for dessert. My favorite dessert of all time, their version was served in a cup. And it was as delicious as the pizza. A lovely meal all-around. Overall: Sapori e Delize is a must when you're in Rome!
Since we were in the area in Rome we decided to give them a try for lunch. We realized that Fanta orange in the U.S. is not the same as in Italy, but not their fault - still tasty. It was very relaxing sitting outside with the tables on the street. I had the Pizza Diavola which had tomato, cheese and spicy salami. It had a thin crust which was flavorful. The pizza was very tasty! My wife had the Rigatoni Carbonara, which was amazing. The mixture of the butter, garlic and bacon gave it a very rich and flavorful taste. If we are back in the area - we will most definitely stop by!
The Piedmontese and Diavola pizzas are outstanding. Neapolitan type crust. Piedmontese a little heavy on the gorgonzola. Diavola picante salame is rich and "rustic" in flavor with a decent spicy punch. Service friendly. They have A/C. Outdoor seating pleasant as it is on a relatively quiet street
First night in Rome and wanted pizza. Looked on Yelp and found this place with good reviews. Walk as about 20 minutes from our hotel. We were met with a friendly young lady who seated us inside as we were a party of 4 and their outside seating was already full. Place is small inside with maybe 6 tables. Half were full. We ordered recommended beers on tap. Beers came out nice and cold. We order 2 pizzas and an appetizer of prosciutto and mozzarella. Order came out quick and hot. Pizza is thin crust. Everything was delicious. Too bad no room for tiramisu, but did include a photo as it looked authentic. If in Rome, this is a great place to try.

This a must have on your trip to Rome. I'd have to argue that it was my favorite place to eat at during the entire vacation. In fact, we ended up going back; that's how much my family loved it. It's a quaint little place that primarily serves pizza and pasta. If I'm being honest, I was not impressed by Italian cuisine during my visit because I found the flavors bland. However, the dishes served at Sapori e Delizie were on the opposite spectrum. The big hit with my family was the lasagna, and it might be a hit with your tastebuds as well. And if you want a must have: the tiramisu. I have never bitten into such a soft pillow of rich coffee taste. Just try to get it early, they make limited amounts during the day and they do run out. read more

This was our first authentic Italian cuisine experience during our trip, and I think we made the right choice! Being tourists, we rely heavily on past reviews and experiences of others, and this place was highly recommended by most, so we decided to walk quite the distance to try the food out here. My first impression of the place wasn't the greatest. The restaurant is "tiny", has barely 5-6 tables, and has no waiting area/section/chairs. We were literally standing next to the toilet, waiting for our turn to be seated, which according to the waitress could take anywhere from 20 mins to an hour. Since this didn't sound very promising to me, I had already started looking for other places nearby, but thankfully, our turn came in about 30 mins or so. I had already looked up the menu in detail, so we ordered right away. We went with the Pizza calabrese and lasagna (based on their recommendation). The food came out in around 10-15 mins, and was delicious! I am so glad we didn't give up on the wait and go elsewhere. The quantity is great for the price as well, and we ended up having to take some lasagna to-go. I would definitely revisit this place again if I am in the area, during a less busy hour. Definitely worth a try if you like traditional Italian food (and American music)! :-) read more

I don't often write reviews unless I'm really impressed. I was really blown away by our time at Sapori e Delize. For one, we were a large family of 9, tired and sweaty from walking all day in Rome. Vladi welcomed us with his humor and prepared tables for us on the patio and waited on us the whole night, making sure we had our drinks and the food was served surprisingly fast. Vladi was a laugh a minute, cracking jokes and dealing with the mix of personalities in our group, especially our parents who were restaurant owners and in the business for over 30 years. They are very hard to impress, trust me, and they loved the food. The food was soooooo good! The reviews are 100% on point, you will not be disappointed. We were also a blended family of Black Americans and Germans and this is probably the most welcomed we'd felt during our time in Italy. The staff was engaging, kind, and patient with the various needs of our group. We really appreciate you! read more
Mixed review on this place. The restaurant is tiny and there is limited seating but they were firing up pizza after pizza for to go orders and dine in orders which was a good sign. Owner(s) are over the top obnoxious personalities that I just could not deal with on day 8 of our 9 days in Italy. Pizza - say yes. Really crispy delicious buttery crust with ample amounts of toppings. You definitely want to order the pizza. I'd honestly skip all other menu items. Pasta - say no. Definitely not homemade, it's box pasta with a very pedestrian tomato sauce that probably comes out of a can. The pasta was extremely under cooked and chewy. I had about two bites of it and left it on the table. The owner took notice and asked if I didn't like it and I said no so he kindly removed it from our bill. read more
We came here because of the reviews and they did not disappoint. It's a tiny little place, and was full when we showed up but we got right in. The pizza is amazing. My husband ordered Cacio e Pepe, which was a tad under salted but still delicious. Great service and the pizza, again, was amazing. read more

Spent the day at the Colosseum and walked to this restaurant. The owner is great making recommendations on Pizza and pasta's. Service is excellent and the food was tasty. If you are in this part of town, it's worth it. Very reasonable price read more
With the raving reviews from Yelp and Trip advisor, I gave this place a shot. This was on the way to Colosseum from my hostel so I gave it a shot. Got the diavola pizza and it was lack luster. The flavor was from the pepperoni and cheese, thats it. The crust was not crispy. It was undercooked. I determined I did not like roman style pizza and is wondering what the heck the other good reviewers were eating. Everyone seemed to rave about the pizza but I totally did not get the same experience. It was actually one of the worst pizzas I ever had. Come to think of it, pizza in Italy was not good. I've had better pizzas in the states honestly. read more

Came here 3x within the course of my 3 day Rome trip, so that just goes to show how delicious this place is. I know I know, seems a bit excessive but I promise that this place is just that good. I discovered through yelp while looking for a place to eat. Personally, pizza isn't my #1 choice but hey, when in Rome..... FOOD: so so so good!! My go to order was the pizza with porcini mushrooms & sausage (can't remember the name of it but started with a "c"). If you're a mushroom lover like me, get this! We also got the Napoli (way too salty), the Bufala (ok, just tastes like regular pizza), & one that I totally forgot the name of (pretty good, had things like an egg and artichokes). We also tried the calzone which was HUGE....literally; my hand was only a 1/3 of it. It was a bit too salty for me, but the breading was pretty good. I also tried the potato croquette once, which was really good. Overall, the pizzas here are fantastic no matter what you get because it's fresh. Everything is prepared in front of you....also brownie points for being super affordable. The pizzas were 7-9 euros for an entire thing, win win! STORE: quite small....outdoor & indoor seating. clean & cute, they played mostly American music SERVICE: both the waitresses I had were really sweet, although it was a little messy during rush hour....thank you for being so friendly & helpful! the guys who make the pizza were really funny & kind OVERALL: 5 stars, definitely recommend!!! read more

Came here based on the reviews on Yelp, and thought it was pretty good overall. The restaurant we ate at yesterday was better, but this was still pretty good. It's a pretty small restaurant, and there really isn't that many place to sit at, but there are so many restaurants in Italy, that almost all have some tables open because of competition. The server was a pretty funny guy full of life and dancing to the some 90's classics. The food was decent. I think the pizza we had here was the best in Europe, but the calzone was better in That's Amore in Rome. Still a fun little spot and the prices are also great! For the quality of the food, it's a steal! read more

This was a colossal disappointment. We walked over here from Termini Station on our way to the Colosseum after seeing the high reviews. We stepped in and the restaurant was mostly empty. The menu we were handed was quite large with way too many and the descriptions were completely in English - not a good sign. I ordered the prosciutto and mushroom pizza while my wife ordered some monstrosity with red onions and big dollops and pure chili paste, which was so spicy it was inedible. I took a bite and could not stomach it. My first impression was that the pizza quality was on par with what I can get in the mall next to my house at Blaze Fast-Fire'd Pizza. The tomato sauce was watery and flavorless. With each bite, the toppings just slid right off the limp slice. Everything was underseasoned. The dough did not taste correct. On top of all of that, a service charge was automatically included. Overall, I'm convinced this is for tourists only. Not recommended. read more

Best thing is it's one €dollar sign! Decent pizza place that serves mainly pizza and salads. I try to get pasta but they blocked it out with a sticker. I had a good view where they sat me inside and I can still look out the view. Total meal 13€ that included €1.00 charge sitting fee for me and my other, 0.50€ per person. Still reasonable pricing, love that. I had a huge arugula salad with cherry tomatoes and balsamic vinegar for 4€ and was delicious. It's definitely shareable. I also got the spicy salami pizza and it was good, so far better tasting than most of the pizza places I've tried. Though the salami is not spicy at all and the meat slides right off the pizza when you eat it. I like that they give you a knife and fork in case you don't want to use your hands. I hope others have a better experience than my fiancé and I. We checked the reviews before coming and it seemed like it would be a great place, but unfortunately we were both very disappointed. While coming here for lunch/early dinner, we were very hungry and looking forward to our food. I must say the service was good as the employees were kind and was helpful in some recommendations; however, what was recommended as "favorites" was below par. I ordered the CARBONARA (favorite 1) and have had it at 3 other restaurants in Rome, as it is my favorite and quite a staple. The "lard" flavoring was overpowering in my opinion, ruining the simple dish. Without the additional fatty chunks of bacon within the spaghetti, there was ZERO flavor :(. The bacon helped bring out some saltiness, but unfortunately there was more fat than charred bacon. Also, I expected a little more than what I received. Maybe I'm used to America's portions...? My fiancé ordered the CALABRESE pizza (favorite 2). That in our opinion had some pickled/sour flavor, maybe it's the onions? The sausage indeed did have a kick, but the pizza lacked overall flavor. I will say we enjoyed the dough, but the pizza as a whole, major disappointment. Hope you enjoy this place better than we did! I definitely recommend carbonara and lasagna from Al Padovano and carbonara and pizza from Taverna del Seminario! read more

Hands down the best pasta and pizza I have ever had in my life. It was so delicious here that we came back three times! Definitely small and family owned, they made us feel so welcome here. I would recommend the carbonara pasta! Simply amazing. read more

Second visit to Rome, first time to this little gem. Good beer, good vibes and delicious Italian pizza. Loved the fresh OJ and definitely appreciated that although the restaurant was playing a contemporary mix of music, the chefs were jammin to some old school hip hop in the background (don't think anyone was bothered by it; it was not loud at all, I just picked up on it and was bopping to the beat :) More about the pizza: I had the Nino, a mix of bacon, porcini and grape tomatoes with mozzarella, and mom had the Vegetarian, with tomatoes, eggplant and zucchini, and mozzarella. So good. Light crust, enough cheese. Perfection. Oh! One last plus: free wifi! Posting this before we leave the table! ;) Would definitely recommend this spot. read more
Somehow we were able to snag a table for two immediately (despite larger parties outside waiting for a bigger table). It is a tiny place with only a few tables, but it was an excellent meal with some of the most friendly service we had in our trip to Rome! The server was busting his butt taking orders and seating tables, but was quick and making jokes with everyone the entire time we were there. We really enjoyed his friendliness! This place is clearly tourist friendly, which unfortunately was not the case for everywhere we dined in Rome. As for the food, I definitely recommend the pesto and my boyfriend enjoyed his pizza. In search for more good pizza, I ended up at Sapori e Dlizie, which was highly reviewed on Yelp. Food: I ordered Boscaiola, which was a mushroom and sausage pizza. This was probably one of the best pizzas I had in Rome. The crust was thin and crispy, and the ingredients tasted so fresh. Additionally, they offer pizza to go. Sides Notes Ambiance: It's a small restaurant; very limited seating. Service: The staff making my pizza was very friendly. Overall: I highly recommend! read more

Amazing!! We waited 30 mins outside (19:30) and they brought us bread! Then when it was our turn to go in, the music was great. Food was delicious. Came out in about 20 mins with being busy. Came with my family and everything was more than we expected. Our server was nice and brilliant! read more

When we came in, this small restaurant was packed, but the waitress was an absolute doll and actually was able to make a table for us. She actually had to ask the other patrons to move over in order for her to squeeze our table in, but thankfully everyone was super nice and no one minded. They say the best way to tell if a pizza is good is by ordering the plain, so that's what we did. The pizza was delicious and actually got even better with each bite we took. Think light, and flavorful. We also tried the house wine, which we enjoyed. Our hotel was just a short walk away, so we're looking forward to stopping here again before the end of our trip. read more

Absolutely delicious!!! It's on a little side street away from the tourist traps. Tiny restaurant inside. Everything is made from scratch and the kitchen is open to the dinning room so you can see them making your food. We started with the arancini. Delicious! Very filling also, surprisingly big. Then my husband had just a pepperoni pizza. (The pepperoni is spicy but very good!). I had the Tour of France pizza: mozzarella, prosciutto, arugula, Brie, walnuts, pear, and honey! Wow! So good and so much flavor! Would absolutely come here again and recommend to everyone! read more
We probably should have eaten every single meal in Rome here. We would have been much more satisfied and a lot richer. This is definitely THE restaurant in Rome for authentic Italian pizza. We sat outside at one of the 4 tables and shared the burrata pizza, lasagna, and zucchini blossoms. We felt like we had to order the zucchini since it's a classic Italian food. OMG the pizza was the best pizza we've ever had. There were so many pizzas to choose from on the menu, but there was only one burrata pizza, so the decision was easy for us. The pizza had a ton of burrata, which is usually expensive. I think we paid $12. What a steal! It was also covered with sun-dried tomatoes and arugula. The tomatoes were large and numerous, so this was a bit too much for me flavor and texture wise. I took them off and ate them separately, but my husband absolutely loved and couldn't get enough of them. The lasagna and the zucchini blossoms were great, but the pizza knocked our socks off. Would definitely suggest ordering as many pizzas as humanly possible. read more
