My mom with the butt of the sumo

Monday, August 25, 2025. Everything was great. We liked the food and we liked the service and it was easy to park our giant 27 foot moving truck and extended length cargo van. I forgot to order the gyoza even though other reviews recommended it. We got the edamame to share. My parents split a bento box because they didn't want leftovers. I got a lobster and steak hibachi combo. Mine came with soup, salad, and noodles. We ended up having leftovers anyway. My parents split a beer and I got a hot green tea. No room for dessert.

We just moved to the area as refugees from California, and are trying out new places. Japanese food is known to be amazing in California, and we were really worried about finding any here. So we stopped in tonight and were very pleasantly surprised that everything we tried was really, really good! I ordered the veg & shrimp tempura and hubs had shrimp teriyaki. Then I ordered two rolls, the Packer and the Crazy. WOW. Tempura was hot and fresh, not greasy- just right. The rolls were yummy, as was hubs shrimp. Service was fast. Muni's one star because they were super stingy about napkins and a side of teriyaki sauce, but that seems to be the norm for Asian fare I've found. Overall we were very impressed and will be back!

The closest one is the Sex on the Beach roll, the second one is the Bronco Special roll

Went during lunch and it was amazing. Our favorite was the Sex on the Beach roll. It had an amazing flavor, the different combinations of seafood blend beautifully. The eel sauce was very unique, it had a hint of smoky flavor to it. We also had miso soup, it was amazing as well, it had a lot of flavor to it. So if you're at/ going to Gillette, make sure you stop by this restaurant.

Shrimp avocado roll with a few salmon avocado rolls.

Came here to grab sushi on a Sunday night while passing through town. I first ordered sake which was nice and hot when I got it. Then I ordered salmon avocado rolls and a shrimp cucumber roll. The sushi is well made, a good size, and has great taste. They even had gluten free soy sauce! I love this place already! The service was amazing and the waitress was very attentive to me. I highly suggest you come here to eat. Well done!

Sex on the beach (left) , Sapporo Special (rt). Both delicious. :)

There was a chewed piece of gum in the soy sauce dish we were given, and the service was slow for there not being barely any customers.

I really only have one regret. The Boot Hill Legendary restaurant, lounge and night club are in Gillette, WY and I live in Georgia! That might be to far to eat here regularly, but if you are anywhere near Gillette and you don't make your way to the Boot Hill Legendary restaurant, your taste buds will haunt you because you missed out on one of the best meals of a lifetime. FYI... I am not related to anyone there, but you couldn't ask for a nicer staff. Curtis the manager was very personable and helpful. I got the opportunity to meet the owner as well and he too is a great guy who actually cares about his customers. Don't miss this place!

This was our first time in Gillette and our first time at this location. There is nothing that I could say that is positive about the experience. The staff was indifferent. The owner was a jerk and I felt that I was not welcome or appreciated as a visiter from out of town or as a customer. I would never come back to this location ever again and regret spending my money here. I would avoid at all costs. Find a place that appreciates your business. This place does not.

They do have an interesting and diverse rotation of beers, which is nice. Night 1 - Ordered St. Louis style ribs and a simple side salad because I didn't want fries and a salad bar. Instead, I got baby back ribs cooked generically with some sweet hickory glaze pour over them. I think they need a better base flavor and less reliance on the sauce. Night 2 - Scallops and shrimp with broccoli and rice. I asked the server, please make sure they don't overcook the scallops. Upon delivery, it was difficult to cut the scallops with a fork. Seasoning was pretty good for chewy seafood. Broccoli and rice were - okay. Night 3 - Had a steak, rare, with a loaded baked potato and the salad bar. Salad bar was much better this trip. Yay! The steak had a great sear on it for actually arriving rare for such a thin slice. Loaded potato, should have skipped that and just loaded it from the salad bar. The only difference for $2 up-charge is green onions. Again, it was just okay.

Both were very good and hit the spot. There were a lot of vegetables in his Ramen Bowl and he said he would order it again. He's all about protein so it was nice to see him devour all the vegetables as well as the steak and noodles. I compiled a salad of my favorite Garden Bar items and then went back for 2nds on their broccoli salad and pumpernickel croutons. We walked in an hour before closing but our server was pleasant and did not rush us. Being near the end of the day it was less busy but the booth we were in felt cozy and we were able to slow down after a day's driving. They should wipe the dust off the pendant lights hanging over the tables as the rest of the room we were in appeared clean.
