The BEST cupcakes I've ever had, and I'm counting allll of them. No, seriously, I have no idea how she does it. These cupcakes are so moist, flavorful, and fun! The menu changes weekly, but it often has a formula of classic/classic/creative/alcohol-infused flavors. So with typically four cupcake flavors a week, she'll do something along the lines of: vanilla, chocolate, cookie dough explosion, and tequila sunrise. And yes, those are all flavors from the Sarcastic Sweets arsenal. Seasonal flavors are played with quite well here - like an appropriate lemonade for the summer or a festive pumpkin pie or hard-cider in the warmer months. Cookies and brownies are on the menu as well! You'll find the truck out and about just about everywhere. Food truck events (Food truck Fridays is where I originally found her), random establishments (Foolproof brewery, libraries, CVS, etc.) local events (EP heritage fest, marathons, what have you). She'll also deliver to you on top of taking custom orders. You never know where the truck will be, but I know I'll go out of my way if I have to, to find it. I love following along, as she's great with updating her weekly menu + locations on Facebook, and trying the things she comes up with. I just had a salted carameltini cupcake (just can't get away from those spiked cupcakes...) that was seriously everything! My boyfriend, who normally has zero taste for sweets, can't ever help himself from stealing a bite...or four. Personally, I'll be chasing down the Sarcastic Sweets truck forever (and doing my best not to order more than one at a time, gah!), but you'll totally earn an A+ in self-love for at least trying it out. We visited Sarcastic Sweets in the Lorraine Mills location with our RI Food Fights iced coffee coupons. We found our way through the sea of hallways to the Sarcastic Sweets storefront, which is only open on Fridays from 12-4PM. We were greeted nicely by the woman working the counter and liked the selection of flavored coffees. Sarcastic Sweets seems to mostly operate on per-orders and they also have a food truck, but there were a number of baked items in the case on the counter and we chose a bbq chicken calzone, which was very good. It was super hot the day we visited, but if it had been a cooler day, we would have enjoyed the Lorraine Mills outdoor seating area. We haven't tried the food truck, but hope to catch them in our area soon! read more

We were excited to try this place out - there was a very long line at their food truck - but unfortunately, we were disappointed. We ordered the milk & cookies (consisting of the oreo maddness & s'mores cookies with a glass of whole milk) and the cookie sandwich (2 m&m cookies with vanilla ice cream). The cookies were gigantic, but they were not good: they were either too dry or too doughy, and not flavorful at all. We couldn't really taste the difference between any of the cookie flavors. The ice cream was also not good, certainly not fresh, as if it was right out of a frozen ice cream tub from Wal Mart. I can't say I'd recommend this one. read more

Someone brought cupcakes from this establishment for our organization's potluck! Our group member was so happy that she was able to put the order in advance and the owner made the cupcakes fresh that day. I tried the Oreo cupcake - it was the prefect mix of chocolate & cookies. Sweet but not too sweet. I loved that there wasn't too much frosting. I also had the vanilla celebration cupcake - it tasted good but nothing remarkable. My work had the Sarcastic Sweets food truck come for the afternoon. I got a strawberry shortcake cup. It had a soft cake layer and a layer of sweet frosting sandwiching a danish like strawberry pastry. I think it was a well proportioned and tasty snack. There were also cookies and brownies of various kinds available at the truck, but the cake cups seemed like the most unique item. Because this was a work sponsored event, we also got a drink. I picked hot chocolate, which was generously sized but nothing special. The women working at the truck seemed fun. Visited Sarcastic Sweets lately for their desserts. They also serve breakfast and lunch all day. My friend & I went during their happy hour, which is 2 - 4, and grabbed six cupcakes. The cupcakes were really good, not too sweet and one of them had a cake bite in it! A pleasant surprise. They have gluten-free and sugar-free options for desserts as well, which can be difficult to find around the area. I also ordered the Strawberry Shortcake milkshake with oat milk and it had real strawberries and cake pieces in it. Loved it. They also have fresh smoothies and Alaska brewed coffee as well. Big fan of Sarcastic Sweets as of yesterday! Since being a kid, my sister has always celebrated 11/11 simply because she loves the date, and since I knew I wouldn't be able to celebrate with her this year as we are across the country from each other, I wanted to have something delivered to her which would make her feel happy. I called Sarcastic Sweets not expecting to be able to pull this off the night before the date, but was greeted by Nina who just GOT IT right away - I felt like she was just as in on the surprise as I was! She had the idea to make 11 cupcakes, have them arranged to spell out 11:11, and to have them delivered at exactly 11:11 - and she made it ALL happen! She included a balloon and a champagne-style bottle of Martinelli's on the house. According to my sister, the cupcakes were amazingly delicious.
