We were excited to try this place out - there was a very long line at their food truck - but unfortunately, we were disappointed. We ordered the milk & cookies (consisting of the oreo maddness & s'mores cookies with a glass of whole milk) and the cookie sandwich (2 m&m cookies with vanilla ice cream). The cookies were gigantic, but they were not good: they were either too dry or too doughy, and not flavorful at all. We couldn't really taste the difference between any of the cookie flavors. The ice cream was also not good, certainly not fresh, as if it was right out of a frozen ice cream tub from Wal Mart. I can't say I'd recommend this one. read more

Someone brought cupcakes from this establishment for our organization's potluck! Our group member was so happy that she was able to put the order in advance and the owner made the cupcakes fresh that day. I tried the Oreo cupcake - it was the prefect mix of chocolate & cookies. Sweet but not too sweet. I loved that there wasn't too much frosting. I also had the vanilla celebration cupcake - it tasted good but nothing remarkable. My work had the Sarcastic Sweets food truck come for the afternoon. I got a strawberry shortcake cup. It had a soft cake layer and a layer of sweet frosting sandwiching a danish like strawberry pastry. I think it was a well proportioned and tasty snack. There were also cookies and brownies of various kinds available at the truck, but the cake cups seemed like the most unique item. Because this was a work sponsored event, we also got a drink. I picked hot chocolate, which was generously sized but nothing special. The women working at the truck seemed fun. The food truck counter is decorated with some décor signs that match the tone of their "It's Not Like I Can't Make It For You" logo. read more

If you are looking for peanut/tree nut/dairy free sweets, look no further. The owner Nina is lovely and crafts her snacks with love. I discovered this little gem when my kiddo was wrestling in the same building. She is open on Fridays12-4 for walk ins, but takes orders as well. Lovely little local, woman owned business with delicious baked goods. I highly recommend the apple turnovers, cookies and brownies. read more

I saw the Google listing for this basket and it looked good, so I confirmed that it was open and took my lunch break to go there. I had a hard time even finding the door, which was closed and locked. I rang the doorbell and it turns out that their entire Google listing and website is incorrect. They no longer have a store front or restaurant, and they just have a food truck. Visited Sarcastic Sweets lately for their desserts. They also serve breakfast and lunch all day. My friend & I went during their happy hour, which is 2 - 4, and grabbed six cupcakes. The cupcakes were really good, not too sweet and one of them had a cake bite in it! A pleasant surprise. They have gluten-free and sugar-free options for desserts as well, which can be difficult to find around the area. I also ordered the Strawberry Shortcake milkshake with oat milk and it had real strawberries and cake pieces in it. Loved it. They also have fresh smoothies and Alaska brewed coffee as well. I contacted Nina to have a Vegan cake delivered to my sons dorm for his birthday. Nina was extremely helpful, and made the process so easy. The BEST cupcakes I've ever had, and I'm counting allll of them. No, seriously, I have no idea how she does it. These cupcakes are so moist, flavorful, and fun! The menu changes weekly, but it often has a formula of classic/classic/creative/alcohol-infused flavors. So with typically four cupcake flavors a week, she'll do something along the lines of: vanilla, chocolate, cookie dough explosion, and tequila sunrise. And yes, those are all flavors from the Sarcastic Sweets arsenal. Seasonal flavors are played with quite well here - like an appropriate lemonade for the summer or a festive pumpkin pie or hard-cider in the warmer months. Cookies and brownies are on the menu as well! You'll find the truck out and about just about everywhere. Food truck events (Food truck Fridays is where I originally found her), random establishments (Foolproof brewery, libraries, CVS, etc.) local events (EP heritage fest, marathons, what have you). She'll also deliver to you on top of taking custom orders. You never know where the truck will be, but I know I'll go out of my way if I have to, to find it. I love following along, as she's great with updating her weekly menu + locations on Facebook, and trying the things she comes up with. I just had a salted carameltini cupcake (just can't get away from those spiked cupcakes...) that was seriously everything! My boyfriend, who normally has zero taste for sweets, can't ever help himself from stealing a bite...or four. Personally, I'll be chasing down the Sarcastic Sweets truck forever (and doing my best not to order more than one at a time, gah!), but you'll totally earn an A+ in self-love for at least trying it out. Fair warning though, you'll probably return (for the love, obviously). read more

Extremely rude and charged me extra than what was labeled. Disappointing and over priced for sub par cookies and ice cream. Adding to my review because it's clear one of the workers messaged me asking about my review then starting attacking me. Businesses get bad reviews they all do, not everyone's experience can be great she rolled her eyes at me and had a attitude and then her coworker charged me $7 (for non fresh cookies that came out of the display most likely sitting there for hours and melted ice cream and before you say it's hot out, no it was night time) when the menu said $5. I have no reason to lie this is just the facts I'm not here to tell people whether to cater them or not just to share my experience! read more

Ordered cupcakes for a friend's birthday via Uber Eats!! I LOVE how they have gift bags, birthday cards, balloons & gift boxes. Seriously. Most businesses don't do this and it's so hard to find a place that will package their goodies in a cute way so that when you send a birthday surprise to your friend, it looks like a nice birthday surprise rather than an Uber delivery lol. Our RI-based organizaton needed an assortment of treats and the turn around was pretty fast. Due to COVID-19, I wasn't able to see my Dad today for his birthday. I was scrolling through Uber Eats to find something to cheer him up and came across this cute shop! Not only were the cupcakes and cookies great (according to my dad) but they went absolutely above and beyond to make it a special delivery with a customized birthday card and a gift bag and tissue paper! I attended the Warren food truck concert fest (my name for it!), and on my way out I decided to try the Rum & Coke cupcake. I got it home, I squeezed the liquid (rum?) from the vial, and took a bite. There was no rum or Coke flavor...it tasted like your average not-so-fresh vanilla cupcake. I ate it only because I paid $4 for it...I couldn't have been more underwhelmed. After searching every avenue I could think of to get desserts delivered: grubhub, Uber Eats, other businesses etc - NO ONE was able to deliver without at least 48hrs notice. Then I found Sarcastic Sweets, and Nina was so great and easy to work with. Not only do they do same day deliveries, she was able to get them delivered within 4hrs. Big fan of Sarcastic Sweets as of yesterday! Since being a kid, my sister has always celebrated 11/11 simply because she loves the date, and since I knew I wouldn't be able to celebrate with her this year as we are across the country from each other, I wanted to have something delivered to her which would make her feel happy. I called Sarcastic Sweets not expecting to be able to pull this off the night before the date, but was greeted by Nina who just GOT IT right away - I felt like she was just as in on the surprise as I was! She had the idea to make 11 cupcakes, have them arranged to spell out 11:11, and to have them delivered at exactly 11:11 - and she made it ALL happen! She included a balloon and a champagne-style bottle of Martinelli's on the house. According to my sister, the cupcakes were amazingly delicious. Neither I or my sister will ever forget this and I will never forget Nina's kindness! Next time I find myself in Providence Sarcastic Sweets will be one of my first stops! read more

Established in 2015.

I started out just making cakes, cupcakes, and other desserts from my own kitchen and selling them to friends, family, and coworkers. As the orders started to increase and more people from in state and out of state became interested, I needed to expand my services and my mobility. So I purchased my food truck, and once I have more history then I will add to my story.

Meet the Business Owner: Nina R.

My name is Nina Reed and I`m a Johnson & Wales graduate as well as a guest star on "Food Network Show: Sweet Genius Season 3". My goal is to bring a different spark to the Rhode Island foodie scene. I`m from Anchorage Alaska and we`re the definition of far out and different. Sarcastic Sweets is a specialty dessert shop that makes one of a kind desserts, unique to Rhode Island. We can make any beer, cocktail, or wine infused in a cupcake or cake. Another great feature we boast is that we cater to gluten-free customers as well as vegan and other food allergies.

Todays location and vibe was that of a block party, set up right in the middle of the street in front of the Pawtucket Visitors Center. They sell 350 tickets that are $10 if purchased online ahead of time or $15 day of at the check in tables, which is a super reasonable price to sample some of the city's best empanadas. This year there were 8 participating restaurants and each one did a nice job of representing their brand. There was also free face painting and caricature drawing tents available for attendees and an awesome band playing live music. The volunteers we interacted with were nice and this year they handed out these green frisbees, which most people used as plates to collect and carry their food. It's a great time and really neat idea and totally worth checking out. This years event had some logistical problems which caused long lines and significant crowding in one area of the block party, hopefully they learn from this experience and try a different set up for next year.

It came with 4 different meats, pork, chicken, steak and chorizo also came with tons of fries and delicious white rice! And that dinner Fed 4 of us! We just happen to be driving back from a Dr appt and saw the truck. I love Portuguese food so I figure wth let's try it. I'm so glad we did! We'll be back!
