Had an extremely enjoyable dinner here last night. Started with a delicious complimentary tomato soup then two very good appetizers. We had the burrata crostini and an avocado and tomato salad. For dinner I had the veal chop parm and my wife had the yellow tail francaise. Both dinners were large and very delicious. The ambiance was incredible and service was 5 stars. Can't wait to go back. Wow!! Where have I been! What a unique spot to have a gorgeous four story restaurant next to the beach in a residential area. Just a heads up, they do have valet. We did not realize this and were frantically looking for a spot to not miss our reservation. Then to find out we needed to download "another" parking app which took some patience. So save yourself the stress, and valet. We called to let them know we were running late, and they were so kind to welcome us. We were greeted by the matriarch of the family owned business. Carmen is just lovely. I would love to sit with her and listened to her family history. The service was prompt, however not uncomfortable. The young man filling water, I feel like may be new in learning proper etiquette, and balancing a busy evening. Our waiter had great suggestions and was caring. They gave a complimentary delicious soup while we were waiting. We had Caesar salad that was plentiful for two. The raviolo was ricotta, spinach, egg yolk that was so delicious! I kept forgetting to take photos because everything was so delicious. The butternut squash ravioli was perfect. We definitely want to go back so we can try more items. They have a floor that can be set up for a private party. Yes there is an elevator! Each floor is unique and feels like a different vibe. The have a beautiful bar as well. I just can't say enough. This is a beautiful restaurant a few feet from the beach in Hollywood, the service is very good but the food is hit or miss, the complimentary vegetable bisque is great and so was the the sweet and spicy appetizer that we had but the veal chop parmigiana was nothing special and the fettuccine carbonara was flavorless and the pancetta used was very oily. Maybe other items on the menu are better but I'll never know. Oh, it's pricey. read more

I had an unbelievable experience at Sardelli's on April 19th, 2024. The Bolognese was so good that I truly felt I was in Italy that night! Each course was perfectly plated like a piece of artwork. The attentive service by the Chef/Owner Fulvio and the entire staff made it feel like we were invited to a private party at his home. While we went for my birthday, it was quickly unnoticed. They WERE aware. The food was excellent but they even said they didn't have a reservation???? HUH. Very limited menu. I had the Agnolotti with squash and it was good. Hubby got a Veal Chop parmigiana and he said it was delicious. I prefer NO meat. A VERY pricy menu. Although a nice place, I was disappointed that for almost 200$ my day went without a celebration. The water was nice but we waited over 25 minutes to finally get our check. Not sure why. I went here for my birthday dinner on a Friday night. We had reservations. The place was full. It is very LOUD. It has a nice ambiance to it with dark lighting. It is located on the bottom floor of a condo building. It looks like you are entering someone's front door and living room. The staff is friendly and efficient. They bring you warm focaccia bread with fresh ricotta to spread on it. I ordered the rib, sausage, meatball platter with rigatoni pasta. The food was fresh and the sauce delicious. It was a portion for one person. Usually when I order this meal at other restaurants, it is huge and meant for sharing. My friend had the filet mignon which was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The twice baked potato was lacking the prosciutto and cheese stated on the menu. We opted out of dessert due to being so full! This is a special occasion type of place. Everything is made from scratch and you can certainly taste the difference. Jr. Is a phenomenal Executive Chef and his family is so accommodating. Valet parking is available for 6 dollars or street parking is also available (good luck finding a spot) . This 4 story restaurant is set up for dinner for two up to a dinner party. We only visited the 1st floor but were told second floor is same , 3rd is kitchen and top floor is for parties. Food comes in large portions with more than enough to share. The chef sends of a complimentary soup table side with fresh bread. Soup was amazing , bread was just ok nothing setting it above anyone else. Food is prepared nicely with great flavor to match . Table presentation and ambiance add to the excitement. Diego our server was very attentive and always near bye. Great wine list and full liquor bar as well. Pricing on food wasn't to bad . The ambiance is nice- it's a beautiful restaurant-the music as well as lighting was great! Because it was crowded, during COVID I had high hopes. I wanted to give this place a chance despite the "bad service" reviews I found on yelp and most people had great things to say about the food. My likes: Arugula Salad- nice flavor loved the walnuts, Burrata smoked- interesting taste but good, Focaccia bread- and butter sooo yummy, celery soup-needed salt but was tasty, Ribeye steak- needed salt and pepper but good. Dislikes: Calamari-soaked in Tomato sauce- too much sauce the calamari was soggy Chicken Parmigiana- flavorless, not enough sauce too much cheese. Chicken was dry- very underwhelming. Yellow tail- mashed potatoes were good, fish lacked flavor, again nothing mind blowing. Waiter (the older gentleman) wasn't the friendliest but he warmed up. Apparently he's been there a long time and has a reputation of being cold and short with customers. I'm 100% certain I will not be returning to this establishment- I feel this place isn't worth the $$$. When you're spending a lot of money on food you should have a top notch friendly fast service experience and every dish should be satisfying. Out of touch and over priced. Perhaps if the "chef" spent less time trying to boost his social media portfolio to attract famous clients, the food would be the quality he boasts about. Networking is of course part of the role but, it seems to have gone a bit too far. The heart and love you expect in Italian food was nowhere to be found. Alas, let's start with the positives- the ambience and the cocktails. The ambience was lovely, especially around the holidays, wonderful decorations. The dirty martini was excellent as was the glass of barolo. The wine list is extensive but comes with a severe price mark up and there is only a minimal selection of wines by the glass. The server will only take your order once, so you cannot order in courses and have to be fully prepared when they approach. The volume of the place was significant, I could barely hear the person who was seated across from me. Plus we were seated next to the supply cart- where everyone got their salt and pepper, etc. so there were frequent interruptions. Forget trying to get up and use the restroom, you'll be constantly trying to dodge staff with plates and trays, it's like a circus. I was most excited about the raviolo but it was the typical undercook pasta with an overcooked yolk, total disappointment. We cut into it and flour came out, that level of undercooked pasta. The side of rapini and sausage was tasteful without being oily. I had mixed emotions regarding the La Florentina (steak for two). The quality of the meat was great BUT the steak itself was cool and had no sear. In fact, everything we ate was quite a few degrees too cold. Surprisingly, our favorite was the twice baked potato, crunchy on the outside yet fluffy and creamy on the inside. Oh and the "dress code" seems to be only suggested if you're the average customer, as there are people strolling in wearing sweatpants and track suits. I went to Sardelli's about a month ago and had a wonderful experience. The mushroom rub ribeye steak was absolutely excellent and enough for two people to share. I have been to many expensive steak restaurants in NY and this area and was really impressed with the flavor, tenderness and quality of this steak. I hyped up the restaurant to my date, who was not with me on this initial visit and visited the restaurant, again, on June 24, 2023. WE ORDERED THE SAME DISH! Unfortunately the steak was the exact opposite! It's $75, which you don't mind based on my initial dining experience. The second time, the steak was TASTELESS & TOUGH! I could not believe that this was the same restaurant! Did they take a non chef off the street to run their kitchen! Needless to say, I will never go back to the restaurant! We ate there last Saturday - We were a group of 6 - It was a surprise celebration so I did arrive 15 minutes after the group with the person that we were celebrating - I was told when we arrived, you are late! 4 person were sitting at the table with cocktails waiting for us so not sure why I got that nice welcome. It was our first time, we did mention that to the server, he was not helping with the menu at all, I had to ask about the Specials - He asked if we will be ordering wine, he even said, you don't have to be rich, we do have bottle a 9.99$. We felt that because we didn't order wine he had no interest to our table - I had to ask for bread, I had to ask for water to refill our glasses - At any time he came and asked how was everything. Two stars, you can't have good food without service to match! We were a party of 10 dinner at 8:30, we arrive with two bottles of wine to uncork. We were greeted amazingly and escorted upstairs to a very comfortable and convenient table given a stroller in tow. The waiter comes to our table already a bit overwhelmed and understandably we are a big group, we bring out the first bottle and he immediately said there is a corking fee. When we ask, he said it depends on the bottle, what? That's when we said ok how much for this bottle, he said he'd get back to us. Upon his return $50, we said ok. As he was taking our appetizers it seemed he wanted our mains but we kindly asked for more time. When he came back for mains I felt uncomfortable because I could see his face as one or two in our party were not ready‍. It came time for second bottle, not the same as first and we had to ask for new glasses because apparently we were gong to drink from the same glass. Food was very good but the service really overshadowed the quality of the dishes. It could be the waiter being from Peru may just have different customs but at that level of dining, this should be worked out! Well I must start off by saying that I haven't posted in a long time . Haven't seen the need to talk about the regular places I go. Been there done that , but tonight I would have to say that this was the BEST meal of my life ! Great place , small cozy Italian with such a personal touch . We ordered the shrimp appetizer and the meatball to start off with , when we were surprised with a complimentary cream of carrot soup that was amazing . The apps came after and we were blown away , shrimp were sweet and spicy and the meatball was big and the sauce I wanted to drink . We then followed with 2 pasta dishes one better than the other and a veal-chopped pounded . All I can tell u is that we spent $189 for 3 And there's enough leftover for another meal tomorrow . The astmosphere, I believe gives you the feeling of embarrassment if a person asks the price. Again, appetizer and entre descriptions are a little deceiving. Asked for entire plate (hard lobster tail) to be boxed up. Specifically asked for hard lobster TO BE BOXED and they threw it away and boxed just a little left overs . Questioned, and told the lobster was not part of meal. Really, I specifically asked for it to be boxed and it was still loaded with meat. You don't decide what I want boxed up!! Otherwise, serving service was ok but clearing service was AMAZING. Thumbs up to what I would call "bussers " and assistants. Suggestion: waiters, remember where you came from. MeatabAllleee! Sorry, I just had to start with that. Orlando's pronunciation on meatball is still ringing in my head! Anyways, dinner took place here last Saturday night for my Aunt's birthday. After seeing this restaurant featured on tv, she was dying to come check them out. Thankfully the drive to Hollywood from Miami was not bad. Weekend traffic is always pleasant! The restaurant is hidden right off of Van Buren Street. It blends in so well, due to the fact that it looks like a ritzy home. The architecture is beautiful for sure. They offer valet parking, which we opted for, as street parking here is a pain. Be prepared however for the $6 fee (cash only of-course), that they fail to tell you when they take your car. Looking at the location from the outside is astounding, and from inside even more. We were seated immediately at a table by the entrance. If possible, definitely request for one by the window, if you are thinking about going, because it's so beautiful. Aside from being an Italian steakhouse, the restaurant offers a very romantic ambiance. After being seated, we were started off with some waters, and greeted by our waiter, Orlando. He informed us of the specials for the night, but unfortunately never offered us a wine menu, or any other drinks. We had to wait quite sometime for his return, and I had to request for the wine menu. After taking my order, he almost walked away again, without even acknowledging my Aunt whom was also trying to order a drink. She was finally able to ask him if they had riesling that was not too sweet, to which he responded there was no riesling available. He did not even suggest any other type of wine for her to try. Pretty shocking. After placing our meal order, we were served freshly baked, warm bread, with ricotta cheese. I can't say I have had this combination before, but it is ingenious, and delicious! Definitely had to pop a Lactaid pill for this one! We were also served Parsnip soup, on the house. It was yummy, but a bit too liquidy. I would have liked the texture to be a bit thicker. Our meals eventually came out, but Orlando was no where to be seen. He was definitely not an attentive waiter. My Aunt had ordered the Spinach Parpadelle, bolognese style, with veal, pork, and beef ($26). Her mother had the Filet Mignon ($36), and I ordered the Sweet and Spicy Shrimp ($16) with a side of Shiitake and Oyster mushrooms ($10). My shrimp was tasty, but the batter was a bit too mushy. I would have preferred for it to have been crispier. It did have a nice kick to it though. I also enjoyed the mushrooms, but they were super stingy on the shiitake. I also had a bite of my Aunt's parpadelle. The pasta tasted fresh, but I think her dish could have used a tad more bolognese sauce. All in all, I think we all enjoyed our meals. I can't say it was the most amazing food I've ever had, and the service definitely was lacking, but it's worth coming to try this place out at least once. I'll cut to the chase on this one. I absolutely adored Sardelli. From the ambience to the decor to the service to the food.....a home run! You could pass Sardelli and not even know it (except for the valet in front). There is no sign on the regal looking townhouse. The intimate dining space on the first floor, consisting of dark colors and huge gilded mirrors, makes you feel like you are dining in a private home. The food was absolutely divine! The menu was certainly a crowd pleaser for my entire family because it pleased the meat, fish, and pasta lovers. Sardelli is a first rate steak house but also has lots of fresh fish. Sardelli also makes all of it's pasta in-house. Items the table ordered: Chopped Pork Belly Caesar: the chopped pork belly made this more interesting than your average Caesar and the dressing was very good. The Salad of the Day: I forgot exactly what was in this but it just looked like lots of greens. Forgettable. Raviolo (ricotta, spinach, pancetta, egg yolk, sage brown butter, in one big ravioli): So scrumptious! I am still deciding who makes the better Raviolo, Sardelli or Raviolo. I am leaning towards......Sardelli! Filet Mignon: Tender & tasty! Branzino Special: Cooked in a lemon sauce with capers, this was light and just perfect. The portion was big enough for my Mom & I to share (along with a little extra pasta, of course!) Short ribs: Braised for 48 hours, Husband said they were soft like "butter" and absolutely delicious. Cavatelli, braised veal shank, parmigiano, truffle butter, veal broth: I ordered a half portion of this just in case the fish I shared with my Mom was not enough. Boy, I wish I had ordered a full portion because everyone else devoured it! The pasta had the perfect texture and the sauce was delectably savory but not too rich. This was my favorite dish of the night, even if there was far too little of it left for me! Being a birthday celebration, we did finish with dessert. Sardelli was out of Creme Brûlée that night so we had to settle got a a Bread Pudding and a Chocolate Bomb Cake, both with ice cream. I only had a taste of each but they were sinfully rich and delicious. The service was very friendly, although dishes came out a tad slow at times. I don't think this was the server's fault, but the kitchen's. For example, when it took a while for the Raviolo, we were told that the Raviolo are made fresh and they were not ready yet. When they came they were well worth the wait! At another lull in service, our service came out with a complimentary small bowl of cream of tomato soup ( very yummy!). A little late for an amuse bouche, I am not sure if Sardelli usually does this mid service or the chef sent it since he knew service was slow. After our meal, we toured the 3 other floors. These are great rooms with spectacular views for parties and events for 30-80 people. Sardelli will definitely be high on our list for special occasion dining destinations. My boyfriend and I dined here for one of our first meals on a recent vacation. We were impressed by all the high reviews and decided to give this place a go! Sardelli oozes with romance. Located on a residential street in a four-story house, the only tell-tale sign you're at a restaurant is the valet station outside. Otherwise, you hear the chatter of other residences enjoying the warm ocean breeze and see the soft glow of the evening lights. Upon walking in, you immediately realize you're in a classy restaurant. A large bar sits to the corner and an open dining room is filled with large tables prepped with formal settings. We made same-day reservations and were seated immediately. When we first arrived the restaurant was fairly empty and we questioned the necessity of our reservations, but patrons soon filed in and I would highly recommend not taking any chances--make the reservation! We started off our meal with a complimentary mushroom soup. This was delicious. For our appetizer, we ordered the Sweet & Spicy shrimp, served with shaved red onions, cilantro, and habanero jelly. For $15, this is a pricey appetizer, but the size of the shrimp and the serving is generous. The shrimp arrives lightly coated in a fried batter, hot and fresh on the inside. The sweet and spicy sauce, combined with everything else in the dish complements itself very well, and the whole thing is incredibly delicious. We finished every bite! For my main, I chose the duck special. Served with a red wine reduction, this dish was perfectly seasoned. The duck was cooked incredibly well and the whole plate was bursting with delicious flavor. We decided to grab dessert elsewhere, but I have a feeling you can't go wrong with anything at Sardelli. Definitely a great, romantic date spot and a must try! read more

I've reported the matter to Yelp as being an error entry as well as a duplicate, but for the meantime merely enter my review as previously posted under the correct name of the restaurant. Sardelli is definitely an upper scale restaurant which is pretty well evident not only by their food, which clearly uses all top notch fresh ingredients but also, as expected, by their prices which though somewhat steep aren't unreasonable for what you get. Their hostess who greeted me at the door with a "What you want?" question could certainly use little more polish and some better mannerisms; and it's always nice to be asked something like "Is this table good?" when seating you rather than simply being marched over to a table especially when you are there on a customer starved Monday night. I was first giving a complimentary cup of pea based soup which was really delicious and served as a pleasant start to my meal. I started off with the Caesar salad which came with a good array of white anchovy along with a particularly fine dressing and coated with a top shelf tasty parmigiano cheese. The salad itself was crispy, fresh, full flavored and contained the very heart of the romaine. For my entrée I went for the duck with cherry, which contained a cherry with which I am unfamiliar, but served as a good enhancement, complimenting the overall flavor of the duck. They had several specials such as a veal chop & etc. and their menu contains a good selection of meats in which they seem to specialize. I did see the veal chop ordered by another table and was pleased that I had declined it as it was served to them covered with what appeared to be some type of tomato based sauce that I would fear might be more detracting to the flavor of the dish than enhancing.
