Fixed the alternator myself after being quoted almost $300 for the fix. Remember you can always do it yourself for much lower. Unfortunately due to a misdiagnosis in July 2025. My car went to the scrapyard 3 weeks later. Sardos is at fault for this as if they had diagnosed my car correctly I would've been able to take it past 250,000 and kept it far longer. ALSO THEY DON'T CALL WHEN I ASKED THEM TOO "BEFORE THEY DID EXTRA WORK ON MY CAR I DID NOT APPROVE. THATS THE SECOND MECHANIC TO NOT CALL ME. 300$ to just a do it yourself repair and 50$. My experience with Sardo's Automotive is very awful. If there is any option to give negative rating, i would give them - 5 or maximum I can..Staff here are very rude and not at all helpful. I have a vintage Mustang that was restored incorrectly by a company that went out of business. I requested recommendations from several friends and the top recommendation was Sardo's. I had issues with the engine, brakes, transmission and rear end. Sardo's were able to diagnose the problems and correct them quickly and at a reasonable price. I've taken my vehicle here three times, but I may start looking elsewhere. In the last 4 months, I've had the wheels off twice, once for rotation, and once for replacement. Today, I'm told that the wheel lock socket isn't working, and the lugs needed to be cut off. No one else has touched the wheels - I haven't even needed to add air - but somehow things are "frozen" now. The same guy that worked on it before, "Mike", doesn't even recall that spacers were installed. So "Mike" somehow over torques the lug nuts, and not only am I stuck paying to get those cut off, but now I also have to buy new ones (conveniently, they had those in stock). No one was willing to accept even the slightest partial fault. read more

I only did business with these guys because they were contracted by the city to tow cars during a parking ban during the most recent blizzard. I have no problem with the fact that they towed my car. I'm upset because they charged me $60 to shovel out the tires when I clearly told them I didn't have the money. I started shoveling and then he started shoveling as well. It took all of ten minutes. They also charged me for a day's storage, 4:30 pm-12:00 pm the next day. He did charge the battery, not replace it, so he claimed that wasn't a repair and that he had the right to charge me for storage. He did not see my point and refused to waive any of the fees. I think any decent business person would have either waived the fees or at least half of the fees. He claimed that the battery had a problem. Had I left the car there I'm sure he would have replaced a perfectly good battery and charged me an arm and a leg. I will NEVER use that garage or recemmend them. read more

I had them fix my brake lines three years ago, almost to the day. I was charged over $800. The same brake lines went out again just a few days ago. That is total BS. The mechanic I have looking at it right now says they only patched it and they used the wrong kind of lines for the car. Don't go there EVER! read more

Everyone here is fantastic. I have been having an issue with my tires wearing unevenly and to quickly. I was buying tires every couple of weeks. Each time I went to a garage I would ask to please check the toe, camber & alignment. I stopped at Sardo's explained what was happening. They immediately helped me and didn't rip me off with useless charges. They were quick, professional, honest. The bill I receive when they were done was well below what I was expecting. I had an auto accident and they were the company that towed my car from the scene. The insurance company just decided to get my car fixed there since they did mechanic work. The service when they fixed my car was pretty good. I received calls on a regular basis from the older gentleman that worked there on the progress and was able to pick up my car without incident. My car does not sound the same as it did before but it's working and that's what matters. Well the check engine light on my car was flashing on my car and I went in to Sardo's to ask about it and I could clearly see that they WERE NOT very busy. I wasn't expecting anyone to do anything major on my car since I just rolled up but at the very least come out take a look at the blinking check engine light and hear the sound my car was making and give me some feedback and next steps - that's not what happened. The poor front desk guy went back to get someone and the guy sent him back up to ask me more questions about what was happening. I told him and he went back again, he AGAIN came back and told me that they could hook my car up to a machine for a fee and diagnose it. I told him I didn't want that, I had to ask some questions about some work already done. The guy went back again and finally the young mechanic came out and told me some of what the problem was (Note: He DIDN'T go outside and look at my car). I'm assuming he was one of the people that worked on it the first time since he was talking about when they worked on it previously. I was VERY unimpressed with how I was serviced when I went in to ask a quick question. I wouldn't have minded even waiting 5 minutes or so to talk to the mechanic if he was actually doing something - I don't expect people to drop what they are doing if they are working. read more

THE absolute WORSE auto place you can ever go to in the state of CT!!!! they are all extremely RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL!! they damaged my car and I called calmly, respectfully, and professional to talk to the owner, Paul, before I could even begin to explain what was wrong with my car he started yelling at me, talking over me, making rude comments, and hung up in my face! Really? that's the level of professionalism these people have?
