Actually better than good. The slice hit the spot immediately with a perfectly crispy undercarriage supporting a cheesy and saucy top. Frankly this place has been a staple within Ridgefield for many many years and has always been excellent when it comes to taste and price. I have memories with the place even getting a free slice when talking with friends when I didn't have any money. Delivery time ranges from 35-40 mins. Prices are highly reasonable for all of their food items. Sandwiches are always fresh and filling. Their pizza I wouldn't say is the best in the area, however, it is still not ruled out if I am in the mood for it. I must say, they make the most AMAZING mixed wings. This is a wonderful local pizza parlor. It has been in Ridgefield for many, many years. My grandfather used to bring home pizza from Sarges. The owners work the store and it makes a difference. The red sauce is very tasty which results in fabulous pizza and other food. The pizza crust is always crispy. They are very generous with the toppings. The meals are delicious. They will gladly tailor anything to your liking. The delivery is fast and the food is always hot when it comes. We like our pies very well done, and they always come very dark and crispy. There are about four or five booths to sit inside and benches outside and a tv so it is a great place to stop in with friends for a slice. read more

I grew up on this pizza. I love this pizza. This shaped what pizza means to me. This is where I learned to put hot sauce on pizza. This place is an institution in this town. Every kid to ever live in ridgefield has been to Sarges more times than they can count (on the way home from school, after a football game, after concerts and playing in the park). I've enjoyed both the pizza and the sandwiches from here. The food is fresh and good. I like that they deliver, and pick-up is also pretty convenient. I wouldn't eat there unless I was swinging through quick. It's just not really the sit-down kind of place. The employees don't have much personality, and will only speak to you when necessary. They don't even really acknowledge you came in until they've finished whatever they're doing. I guess that's what can be expected from high school kids at a local joint. Live like 1/4 mile away so we always call in a pick up order and it's always ready on time all the time normally about 10-15 minutes. My job recently moved to Ridgefield and we are always looking for a decent place to eat. Our normal orders are for 10/12 dinners plus appetizers and 4/5 pies 3 or 4 times a week. So I looked up places in the area on Google Sarges popped up so I decided to try them out. I call my order in and they wrote my credit card # down incorrectly so they had to call me back no big deal. The food comes I ordered Mac & Cheese bites they were OK nothing special but not bad. I also ordered a slice (Granted I'm spoiled from working in a pizzeria off and on for over 20 years) it was horrible the sauce was too sweet like they added 5 pds of sugar to it. OK so we won't order pizza but we can give the other food a shot right? Well then I'm going to put the receipt in my wallet and I see a $3.00 charge added to the bill so I call to see what that was for, I was informed they charge $1.25 for delivery that's fine and expected and then they tell me they charge $1.75 if you use a credit card over the phone. I asked why when I placed my order no one informed me, the response how are we supposed to know your a new customer? I told them I felt $1.75 was a bit excessive (I didn't say it to them but I'm not sure it's even legal) the response was that's nice Thank you and hung up on me. I called back and ask for the owner and the nasty lady on the phone told me she was the owner and that's what they do they have been in business for over 30 years and they aren't changing for anyone. Well guess what you just lost our business. I called the place we used to order from in Carlstadt Piazza Di Pizza to ask if they would deliver to us in Ridgefield the response of course we will you guys are Great customers!! Thank God there are still places that care about their businesses!! For the record I have no issues with delivery charges and tipping but to charge additional fees and not inform your customers is totally unacceptable!!! read more

Located on Shaler Boulevard, this was my first experience with Sarge's. I parked in the lot a little past the pizzeria and walked over. As soon as I placed my order, the woman working behind the counter was very friendly and welcoming and I mentioned it being my first time there. She had a smile on her face. I had two regular slices with a Coke. I sat down at a table against the window and ate my slices. They were good and had a nice flavor. I surveyed the place for several minutes as I do anywhere I will Yelp about. There was no ambience, the decor was average, or close to it. But the pizza was a winner. I then paid and the man by the register was also very friendly and asked how was everything. Their prices were fair. I responded in saying it was good and thanked him for asking. This is a real neighborhood kind of place. There are hundreds of them all around this part of NJ. Now there are trendy brick oven, coal-fire, wood-fire places too, but this is not that kind of Pizzeria. This is the kind of place that you stop by at on the way home from work, if you want to walk there from your house or if you want a local delivery. The Pizza is standard New York Style. But it is good standard New York Style Pizza. The crust is real, the cheese is real, and the sauce is tasty. The toppings are good too. We have also had a few of the sandwiches and the dinner items. These were not as good as the pizza in my opinion, but we have less experience with the non-pizza items. I will mention that the bread does not seem to be made there which surprises me. After all Italian bread is made from the same dough as the Pizza, so we were surprised that the bread seemed soft and store bought. Seating is a problem here. When we have tried to go with more than two or three people, it was a mistake. So taking out is better and I think they serve slices too, so for a quick Pizza fix, this place id probably fine. read more
