I also grabbed the vodka slice. Although good, I feel this was disappointing. The vodka sauce gets masked the abundance of grated parmeseean cheese on top. I also think the sauce needs more cream. (That means dog friendly outdoors) This is the one pizzeria that offers desserts like affogato or just tea/coffee to cap it off. The actual restaurant is not large, has a large display showing fresh pies, is nicely decorated, has outdoor seating, and the staff is friendly. I placed a to-go order and everything was delicious, well seasoned, nicely packaged, and thoroughly enjoyed. I ordered the Funghi Pizza (Mozzarella, provolone bechamel, shiitake mushrooms, truffle oil, parmesan reggiano, herbs) and the Bucatini Cacio e Pepe Pasta (Garlic, cracked black pepper, EVOO). I would have never thought one of my favorite slices would be in NJ. They have many slice options and we usually end up with the Buffalo chicken, truffle mushroom and margarita with pepperoni. I have been to Urban Tomato twice by now. Ordering the Parma Pizza, it was still as good as the first time when we first tried the restaurant. The Parma Pizza is a full pie. There is a good amount of different cheese and scattered tomato slices. My absolute favorite is when the pizza is a thin crust, abd you can taste how fresh it is right from their oven. The tonato sauce is just even enough for the thin crust and taste the pizza. We have only done take out so far, but I'd love to try it by eating inside too. The staff us friendly, the takeout was efficient in timing. Parking is a bit tricky, but just becareful when you look for any spots near Urban Tomato. This review is based slowly on customer service. I ordered last night and my order took over 90 minutes to arrive. When I contacted the slice app they contacted the store and it arrived about ten minutes later. We were not offered an apology or anything. The food was also cold. The pizza in my memory was never salty. At some point, pizza had become salty, sometimes with visible salt on top of the pizza...even in NYC...that I no longer enjoyed pizza. We tried the Classic Cheese Pizza. The crust was thin but crunchy. The sauce was perfectly seasoned; NOT SALTY! We also tried the Bruschetta and the Fungi. We didn't love these flavors as much. Bruschetta could use more cheese, according to my daughter. The Fungi, I loved the toppings but the truffle oil was a bit too strong for my taste. If you love truffle oil, though... A friend of mine recommended this spot so I went for it. He suggested I get the cheesesteak and when I walked in I didn't see it on the menu so wasn't sure if they had it. Once I asked the guy said no problem. I also had to try the plain slice just for review purposes. 8.1 from barstool is a great score so let me see what the hype is about. I have disagreed with El Prez before so wanted to see if this one was an 8.1. The cheesesteak did take a little longer than I would expect but whatever. It was a solid choice with some interesting sauce on it. The bread wasn't traditional cheesesteak bread but it worked. As for the pizza, on first glance it is a little greasy. It had a layer of grease on it and it didn't help the taste. El Prez was wrong on this pizza. They also have a small gelato case too if you want dessert. I highly recommend any of the pizzas but the ones that really shined for me were the artichoke pizza and the Margherita pizza. Not that the others were bad in any way just that these were my favorites. The mushroom pizza and the plain and Parma which if you like blue cheese this one's for you were excellent too.
