Taste of Tuscany is a strip mall pizzeria that has a restaurant dining area, and is where we chose for Italian on a bring-our-own-bottle Friday night dinner. The dining area is nothing to write home about, and our less-than-enthusiastic server seemed like she had already had a long day... But she was attentive and pleasant, and the decor was not what we came for anyway. For apps, the fried calamari was good and the grandma's slice was great on a second try (after the first was delivered burnt and returned). My wife REALLY enjoyed her pasta primavera and my chicken Marsala was VERY delicious. Both dinners (as well as the side order of pasta for the CM) were VERY heavy on the garlic. Big chunks of garlic were removed from all three dinners that made a pile that filled a bread plate. If you're a garlic fan -- THIS is your place! If you're not, just remove it. I've been to this place a couple of times for slices which are always delicious. On my last visit, I took a closer look at the food in the display case. They have some sandwiches on homemade bread that looked great. Yesterday I went back and tried one of them - grilled chicken with some arugula, tomato and a fresh mozzarella. As simple as that sounds, the sandwich was really tasty, fresh and a little different from anything I've had. And it was $6. Where can you get a fresh sandwich for $6 these days? The guy who works the counter is very friendly and truly seems to appreciate the fact that you are in his restaurant - another rarity these days - friendly service. When I'm the customer, I do like spending my money where I'm treated well, not as an inconvenience like so many other places treat you. I'll be back. I really wish I had a better review because I had a couple coworkers recommend the place. ordered a chicken parm sub. the positive - pretty sure it's the only Italian/pizzeria place that gives you an order of fries WITH the sandwich without an extra side charge. so that was great. (garlic knots were a nice touch as well) the BIG NEGATIVE (pics incl.) - I'm not sure if it's chicken skin?!(but I don't think so because ive never run into skin like this before) or plastic wrap or what but I literally bit into it and couldnt bite through it!! and it's not a little piece...it disappears into the breading. Its so obvious from the people who have only reviewed this place and gave it 5 stars saying how amazing this place is. That is a lie and I fell for it! Our pasta dishes were microwaved and we could tell because my Fettucine Alfredo was literally steaming throughout the dish. Must have microwaved it too long. I didn't even eat the pasta after figuring out it was microwaved and was still charged $13 for it. The garlic knots were burnt and hard. The four and five star reviews are totally fake, Me and my husbands experience was alot worse then the bad reviews already given on this, The bad reviews on yelp say that the food is frozen and microwaved is all true, The pizza is just as bad but the worse thing was them charging us double on our credit card, When my husband tried to get the money back he was told it would be returned to the card in 72 hours by several employees or they would give him the cash back, When the money didn't go back my husband went down there to get the cash andthe owner started arguing with him in front of his own customers telling my husband that he had to wait another 72 hours for the money to be returned. Ordered veal parmigiana on Friday, May 31, 2019. Came in a timely manner. The side was linguine in olive oil and garlic. Garlic was burnt, but the veal was sour and old. My co worker agreed, so it wasn't just me. Waitress asked if everything was good, and I explained the problem. She asked if I wanted another. I said no. Bill came, the lunch with pasta and veal was $10.95. They charged me 5.95 for a handful of pasta after returning their disgusting veal. Had 8 entrees (all different) and 2 appetizers yesterday carry out. Food was prepared with care, well packaged and all items were above average. No oil in the food and portion sizes were very good. owner watches every entree prior to being served and really cares. The only negative is the pizza which is undercooked ( unfortunately typical in Northern Jersey) and rather bland. Again not greasy. We stopped by for an early dinner a few days ago and were pleasantly surprised. We ordered a large Caesar a bowl of the soup and a Nona's pizza. The soup was delicious and had nice flavor. The Caesar was homemade, which is not typical and was a nice size. It was delicious! Then came the pizza. The crust was thin, but crispy on the edges and the San Marzano sauce was delicious! My mom just came back from a month long trip from Peru and after she indulged the Peruvian cuisine there, she said to me "I am craving for some good pasta" so we went here since is very close to my house and the food is always fresh and taste like authentic Italian food.
