Apparently this is actually a family owned regional restaurant chain only in Chicago burbs and NW Indiana. Everyone at our table decided on something different and we all left satisfied. I was good, but it wasn't over the top exceptional. I did find it a bit pricey, but the portions are very large compared to what you typically get elsewhere. The hibachi is a giant portion of food that our whole table could have shared. I also noticed how great the beef tasted, this I will say was above average. I was a bit skeptical ordering the sushi but was pleasantly surprised at how fresh it tasted. It was also very well prepared and plated. I would say the food here a bit more heavily seasoned /salty than the average Japanese hibachi, but it still left us full and happy. We sat at the regular tables away from the hibachi and service was very attentive and polite. Tip: Plum wine to complete the meal!

I ended up dipping my sashimi pieces in the sauce. The baked mussels are always yummy. Seaweed salad is a huge portion, way more than expected so hopefully they don't charge if you don't finish it by yourself! Tempura veggies were good but somehow the tempura shrimp seemed almost like the frozen ones you get at the grocery store, but the usual super light tempura, but still good. Dragon roll is my favorite though it could use more eel than avocado on top. Only yucky thing was Spicy 2 in 1c which menu says is spicy tuna, salmon & avocado inside, wrapped in soybean paper with chili sauce but instead came with avocado on top with a TON of plain mayo under the licensure sauce. I think it's in a previous photo but honestly this time it was drenched and really, I hate plain mayo so I tried to scrape it off but it was overwhelming & had to lose the avocado when I scraped it off so I just couldn't eat it. The fish seemed to have been cut with a lot of tempura flake also so it wasn't even luscious like it should be with just fish and spicy mayo, and there was quite a lot of rice too, so it was very bland. The server Satya was SUPER nice & apologetic, offered to redo without mayo, but I was just kind of done by then; he was great all around l, nit his fault. So I got my delightful tempura banana and called it a day. Suggestion is to clearly state what's on/in the rolls to avoid misunderstanding. The menu photo does not show mayo on top at all. Finally, note that Sat & Sun are dinner prices for AYCE even at lunch which I didn't know until I sat down but was already set for sushi so paid the $42 with tax/tip for lunch and felt kinda unhappy. I didn't get that much so didn't feel with it. Quality, ambiance, and service are still good and I do recommend with these caveats.
