Ok so new review cuz different experience. First, new carpaccio dish is delicious. Large slices of assorted very fresh fish with a light delightful sauce and nice garnishes. I ended up dipping my sashimi pieces in the sauce. The baked mussels are always yummy. Seaweed salad is a huge portion, way more than expected so hopefully they don't charge if you don't finish it by yourself! Tempura veggies were good but somehow the tempura shrimp seemed almost like the frozen ones you get at the grocery store, but the usual super light tempura, but still good. Dragon roll is my favorite though it could use more eel than avocado on top. Only yucky thing was Spicy 2 in 1c which menu says is spicy tuna, salmon & avocado inside, wrapped in soybean paper with chili sauce but instead came with avocado on top with a TON of plain mayo under the licensure sauce. I think it's in a previous photo but honestly this time it was drenched and really, I hate plain mayo so I tried to scrape it off but it was overwhelming & had to lose the avocado when I scraped it off so I just couldn't eat it. The fish seemed to have been cut with a lot of tempura flake also so it wasn't even luscious like it should be with just fish and spicy mayo, and there was quite a lot of rice too, so it was very bland. The server Satya was SUPER nice & apologetic, offered to redo without mayo, but I was just kind of done by then; he was great all around l, nit his fault. So I got my delightful tempura banana and called it a day. Suggestion is to clearly state what's on/in the rolls to avoid misunderstanding. The menu photo does not show mayo on top at all. Finally, note that Sat & Sun are dinner prices for AYCE even at lunch which I didn't know until I sat down but was already set for sushi so paid the $42 with tax/tip for lunch and felt kinda unhappy. I didn't get that much so didn't feel with it. Quality, ambiance, and service are still good and I do recommend with these caveats. read more

Stopped in for lunch the other day and found the experience to be just okay overall. We started with the gyoza, edamame, and ordered a brown sugar boba latte, which were all perfectly fine and the best part of the meal. All just, okay. Unfortunately, the sushi missed the mark for us. The California roll had massive chunks of avocado, making it a bit gross to eat texture wise, and we ended up leaving it unfinished. I also ordered the dragon roll, but only ate 4 of the 10 pieces because it was quite chewy and had a really odd flavor profile that I just didn't enjoy. On a positive note, our waiter was incredible. He was super attentive, kind, and excellent at his job. However, the overall vibe and interior weren't very welcoming, and the women's bathroom was incredibly dark. read more

The food is so consistent here and tastes so well! The place is priced well for vegetarian rolls! Our family loves the avocado cucumber rolls, avocado asparagus rolls and mango avocado rolls. I love that they have soy paper in lieu of seaweed. read more

I travel to Orland Park several times a year. I have reviewed this place before. Food is always very fresh and good. Staff is friendly. Love their AYCE menus I always stop here, but at my last two visits I have concerns with the front desk. Number one, it is tacky to hand write a new policy and tape it to the counter. Not a welcoming site. Use a computer, print it, add a graphic, frame it and place it up front. Second concern is the girl serving as host. I always sit at the bar. Last visit she stood at the desk on her phone the entire time except when someone came in or was leaving. Either she is a relative of owner/ management or girlfriend. I would fire an employee for such behavior immediately. This most recent visit she came into work and sat at the bar and on her phone either listening to a reel or blog. Phone so loud it over powered the music on the restaurant's speakers. I finally asked her to put in her ear buds, for I didn't want listen. She said she did have any, but would shut it off. How does a manager allow such behavior from one employee? I pray she is not the manager. GM or owner needs to coach this employee into a field where customer service is not the focus. read more

We usually have 6+ people with us for dinner. Children would not want sushi so only adults would get AYCE. They now expect the entire table to get AYCE or regular menu. Also, a party of 6 had a 18% service charge as a tip. Unfortunately, the waiter only got that since they tried hiding that without notifying us. We've spent $300+ every time using this restaurant. Unfortunately, we will never return since the new rules doesn't accommodate a typical party of 6+. Many other AYCE in area. Also, place now looks dirty and run down. There were a number of problems when we first entered the restaurant. First off the young lady at the front walked up with an attitude. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day or what the deal was, but that's not how you greet customers. My wife doesn't eat much so she was only gonna get possibly one roll and I was gonna go for the all you can eat, but then we were told that they changed their policy and they do not allow people to sit down unless they're either all getting all you can eat or they're all ordering off the menu that seems so ridiculous to me but still we stayed and went to our table. The music was so loud we couldn't even hear ourselves think and there weren't many people there and it was not Asian type music. It was just top 40. I did ask that they turned the music down and they complied which was good. The final straw was the sushi that I wanted to order which was not that expensive mind you was not included on the lunch menu. They were more expensive sushi rolls that were included, but I didn't want those so we decided to leave. Very bad experience at Sushi Nova. They brought sushi first and forgot the soup and salad until we asked. The miso soup tasted watered down, but the worst part was the salad--I found TWO pieces human fingernail in it. Absolutely disgusting completely unacceptable. Staff took the plate right away from my hand when I show it to him I didn't get a chance to take a picture of it. He called another lady who works also there but didn't handle it seriously. They first offered only 10% off, then after waiting about 30 minutes, increased it to 20%. I couldn't continue eating after that. Felt like vomiting after what happened so nasty and disgusting. So sad that to write this. Went here recently as it is my fav AYCE Sushi spot and glad to see how busy it's been. What gave me the ick was how filthy this place has gotten. All along the baseboards, the walls and especially in the bathroom you can see the grime that has probably never been washed properly, even with the lights turned down low to probably hide it all. I can't imagine the kitchen. They need to hire a professional cleaning service. Sad to say I will have to find another sushi spot. read more

If you're not interested in really putting away some sushi when you visit Sushi Nova in Orland Park, you probably want to stay away from their all-you-can-eat menu. However, if you're like me, and you visit with some big eaters, then their all-you-can-eat menu is well worth the value. It's not the cheapest, but they include a nice selection of specialty rolls on the AYCE menu that sell for $14-$15 dollars on their own. The inside is clean and very contemporary. Our service was excellent. The appetizers and rolls we ordered were all served promptly. They aren't doing anything groundbreaking here, but if you go in a for a late lunch, you pay the lunch pricing, and as long as you bring your appetite, you can't go wrong. read more

This is great all you can eat sushi restaurant. The selection of specialty rolls, and house rolls is great and the serving size is very generous. They don't have a kids menu but have some a la cart items like fried rice that my daughter enjoys. There is a liquor menu. All you can eat includes small selection of mochi ice cream. Service was fast and very pleasant. The main dinning room is great but doesn't have much of light. The back room has this weird led light that makes everything too bright. Hoping this is just temporary and more inviting lights will be installed. Overall, great experience. We were celebrating my son's birthday the last time we're were here and the server came out with an ice cream desert and a candle. read more

This was honestly the worst experience I've had in... well any restaurant. We order from Sushi Nova all the time on doordash and decided to go in for the first time because the food is really yummy. My partner and I arrived at Sushi Nova at 7:30 and we're seated around 7:35 maybe 7:40. Over an hour before last call. We waited at our table for atleast 30min, no exaggeration, until someone came to ask about drinks. There was a world cup game going on, and the staff were entirely distracted by it. They literally just stood there watching it, not ever really comong to check on us. Our server only came to our table two times, we were only able to place two bottomless food orders in the entire time we were there. When we got the sushi, they were a MESS. Some pieces didnt even have fish in it. Pictures included. When we confronted our waiter about the fact that we had waited 30min to even we asked what we wanted to drink, he proceeded to tell us we were lying and yell at us. He then went to the hostess to complain and try to get her to back him up. She checked the time we got in and when our first order had been placed, and confirmed it had in fact taken him over 30min to even place our first food order and came to personally apologize herself for the service and her coworkers behavior. He never apologized. We were only offered 5% off our bill for this experience. We will never come back, nor will we be ordering delivery from this place either!! Awful experience here ! The manager is rude and they pick and choose who they want to serve in a timely manner the only thing that came to us in a timely manner was the water. One of the drinks that we had came to us after our food was served We had three small plates, no silverware no chopsticks no napkins We had to repeatedly call and look for our waiter or some server to bring us the sauces that go with the sushi, fresh menus, pens, to top everything off. They brought the sauce, the spicy mayo, and it had hair in it. All of this when you go to have dinner with your family is exhausting instead of enjoyment. The place was packed with all sorts of guests, large parties, teenagers, couples and the sushi was flying out of the kitchen. We had the jalepeno bombs, which were okay. Love their Westmont location so much that we had to try this location. This location looks slightly larger and more open. Our host and waiter were friendly and stopped by our table often. We had the "all you can eat". Love their signature rolls. The 2 in 1 spicy, volcano, and godzilla rolls are delicious. The restaurant is clean. My only gripe (if you can call it that) is that the restaurant is dimly lit. My bad eyes had trouble seeing the menu #laugh There were 6-8 other people there. We didn't wait long. I'm pretty upset. We order from sushi nova all the time- we even travel a bit just to go there. Tonight we placed a large order (per usual) and there was absolutely zero wasabi in the order. I called the location and the manager said there was nothing they could do since they just closed. I have never had sushi without wasabi- nor do I want sushi without wasabi- I asked for a refund since this order is no longer good to me and she said she needs to talk to the owner that she couldn't do a refund for that.... The imaginative signature rolls make this Asian fusion restaurant worthwhile. One of my favorite was the dancing eel roll. I enjoyed the sauce on it, though some of the sauces used on other rolls were too sweet. What's not to enjoy? The spring rolls were pre-made from a box and I had heart burn later on. I suspect it's the oil that was used. The fish was average quality, which is fine for the signature rolls. I would not order a sushi or sashimi dinner here, just have the signature maki rolls with their sauces. read more
