The friendliest service I've ever seen. They kept our waters filled and the soy sauce and smiles coming. We split the goyza appetizer and each had a poke bowl. Poke is the star and they also have sushi and other Japanese options. Skip the goyza, felt like maybe it was frozen? You fill out a little card with your choice of toppings and it's a sizable bowl. Even though I was starving from a day hiking I still took some leftovers home. Bowls start at $9 and avocado is $1 more and extra meat is $2 more. First time in to Satomi today and we had a nice experience. Tried the Chicken Fried Rice, Tuna Poke, Tempura Prawns, Yakitori Chicken rice plate, Chicken Katsu rice plate and the God Roll. Youngest son loved he Yakitori and it gets a thumbs up from the rest of us. We thought it was some of the best fried rice in Tracy! The tempura was light and crispy and the sauce was pretty good too. Wife and I were surprised when our oldest son a very picky eater scarfed two pieces of the god roll which had Unagi on top, not a beginner fish to say the least. We were the first in for lunch today and it was clean and quite a bit nicer inside than I was expecting. The service was great and the woman was very friendly with the kids. I found Satomi on yelp after moving here. So I decided to give it a try and now Ive been coming here for about a year now and every time it's as scrumptious as the time before. Awesome people,service, and food! I usually get the poke bowl with avocado, crab salad, almost all of the toppings with salmon and hamachi. 10/10! Occasionally I would get some of the sushi rolls and the fish always tastes fresh, which is extremely important when it comes to sushi! They also recently got new tables and chairs. read more

I go to Grocery Outlet a lot (convenience as it's on my way home) and I've always wanted to try out this place but never got to it until a few days ago. My son keeps asking for ca roll (like everyday) he didn't like the other place in Livermore, he likes the one at Mikasa n ChaCha. Fast service, Cindy and Tiffany were very friendly. Cindy advised me to try the Poki Bowl next time I eat in, weird how she knows my liking. Convenient location, fast service, friendly staff, and good food. read more

"Don't judge a book by its cover" I ordered 2 items: POKI BOWL was excellent; fresh ingredients, lots of variety, and good (big bowl) portion for the price. Good quality overall. The RAMEN on the the other hand was so-so. The broth is savory and the meat was soft but they used instant noodle for the dish. The server/hostess was very attentive and pleasant. The inside of the restaurant is very clean and the menu selection is straigh forward. I would definitely come back for their Poki bowls and will try their sushi. read more

My wife ordered the hamachi poke bowl and an ahi tuna/ salmon poke bowl for dinner today. Unfortunately we were served rancid fish in the hamachi bowl by fowl smell and taste which was apparent immediately, and ruined our meal. The raw ahi and salmon bowl were completely fine, but the hamachi smelled sour and the color was very off. I'm not sure how this place has so many good reviews, just the look and smell of the fish we were served was obviously bad/old and could be dangerous to eat. Yummy. I tried them for the first place tonight. They didn't disappoint...much. I'll explain later. I ordered the chicken fried rice, spicy edamame, dragon roll, chicken katsu and teriyaki chicken. Everything is yummy. Why not 5 stars you ask? Well, maybe you didn't ask but I'll tell you anyway. The dragon roll is not the dragon roll I've grown to love and order at EVERY sushi place I've visited up and down the CA coast. It's missing the shrimp tempura and the avocado and instead includes raw spicy tuna and cucumber. I've never had a dragon roll with spicy tuna. They forgot the wasabi for the California rolls and got the poke bowl order wrong. We insisted upon a refund for a portion of the order which was received with resistance on their part. Con: -the noodles in the ramen were without a doubt instant -the pork in the ramen tasted old in my opinion -the egg was sunny side up not soft/hard boiled Pro: -They didn't charge me for my meal because they confronted me (very nicely I might add) about my yelp review on the spot, since I submitted it so soon -There is free wifi I would HIGHLY suggest taking ramen off the menu because imo that is definitely a dish you should not be serving for OVER $10! Driving through TRACY and because of the reviews we decided to stop in for an early dinner. Right as we drove in we were concerned because there was no one there...... we were going to leave but ... what if the reviews are right?? We broke our own rule of not going in to an empty restaurant despite of reviews and well it's a rule for a reason. Wife ordered the teriyaki chicken and it was not freshly cooked but just reheated chicken. My poke bowl was not any better, the fish was not fresh and the cucumbers where old. The sauces where good and the server was super friendly but was on the phone so much it seemed like we were intruding. As we were finishing two couples came in and they were regulars so that was confusing because they really seemed excited about the place. Maybe we got them on a bad night? Place is kind of old and I new we were in Trouble when we walked in and asked to sit down and the table was dirty. No one there and tables are not service ready but you have time to be on phone?? 3* for goodness. 4* for valué - special rolls are 10-$15 max. The hamachi was good. The maguro not so much. The miso was soso. The wasabi had very little spice and not satisfying. Avoid the Mayo based sauces - there's to much and yuck I hate mayo. Regretfully both my rolls had mayo. The satomi roll was ruined by a green mayo sauce - it was drenched. Green and red onions on top of everything - tell them ro leave off. Will try poke bowl tomorrow. read more

Was told I needed to order a poke bowl. Had no idea what it was, but I have been craving it ever since. Got the greens with salmon. Added cucumber sesame and the garlic spicy sauce. I cannot wait to go back. It was perfection in a bowl. I will also add tuna the next time as well as it was eating sashimi in a bowl. Prices were on point. My husband and I have been working on a house in Tracy (we are not from there), and found Satomi as we were driving around the area. It does not look like much from the outside, but we found the food delicious and the staff so friendly. We stuck with sushi and were pleased with the selection of spicy rolls (our favorite) on the menu. Some of the rolls we ordered were artfully garnished with red onion, which was a new sushi topping for me that I loved. We had the Fire, Mt. Fuji, and Gates of Hell rolls. Highly recommend the Gates of Hell! I guess poke is one of their specialties so we will be back to try that. The hostess, I think perhaps the owner, was super nice and funny - gave me a boba drink free to try as I have never had one. Not a fan of the chewy bits, lol, but the juice was really good. My husband had a mango mix juice and loved that too. The only thing that they could use on the menu is a spider crab roll, my husband's favorite. We will be back in Tracy on Memorial weekend and will be back to Satomi! read more
