I had a very disappointing experience with this business. I called to ask a simple question about whether first-time customers receive any discount. Instead of answering my question, the staff repeatedly tried to sell me a six-session package. I asked the same question multiple times, but they kept avoiding it and continued pushing the package. I had already booked an appointment for the next day. However, they canceled my appointment today, claiming there was a "communication issue." When I called to understand why, they refused to discuss it and simply hung up on me. I found the customer service to be unprofessional and disrespectful. If a business chooses to cancel a confirmed appointment, the least they can do is explain the reason politely instead of refusing to communicate. Satori Laser just keeps on expanding! No complaints here though, because this location is conveniently close to work. I stopped by today to get my upper lips and underarms treatments done. I arrived a little early to my appointment so I helped myself to some water and waited on their comfortable couch until it was time for my treatment. My technician came to get me and she is such a sweetheart. To start off, she helped me shave off hair that I missed prior to starting. I then put on glasses provided by her to protect my eyes and we started with my upper lips. I can't deny that I am a huge baby when it comes to stuff like this, but she took about 5 zaps and we were done. It really helps that Satori uses Candela, one of the best machines for laser hair removal. She applied aloe on the area and we moved on to my underarms, which went smoothly as well. Ladies and gentlemen, it's summer and when it's summer, it means lots of shorts and short sleeves. Without further adieu, this review is based on my results after 2 sessions of laser hair removal with Satori Laser. LOCATION & SCHEDULING - I've never done any hair removal treatments before and though I have a pretty high tolerance of pain, I was still a bit nervous prior to my sessions. The FiDi location is the newest of the chain and it is extremely close to the Oculus so it was the most convenient for me to get to on weekends. The space is extremely white and clean. Regardless of when I went, there was never any overlap and I never saw another customer; the scheduling is on point and the technicians are legit on top of their game. EQUIPMENT & PAIN LEVEL - You know you can trust a business when they block off a day every week to cater to models and fancy industry people. The lasers that Satori use are quite pleasant and quick. After the laser pulses, the cryogen cooling system emits a short but quick pulse of frozen air that counteracts the heat from the laser, making the pain more tolerable and comfortable. The best way I can describe it is a fast snap of a rubber band followed by concentrated cool air blown at the targeted area through a straw...that's essentially what it feels like! Pain-wise, there was little to none for my underarms; I'd say a 1-2 at max. The treatment for my lower legs hurt more; I'd say it's a 6-8 for that region. Uncomfortable, but still bearable with the help of a stress ball. TECHNIQUE - You can opt to not even wear the towel but for convenience, I wore a sleeveless/off shoulder top every time I went in so I could still keep the top on while my underarms were being taken care of. For the lower legs, I wore shorts or loose pants that I can pull up the pant leg just so I can be in and out of there as quickly as possible. After the session, the technician always offer to apply some aloe vera gel on the treated areas and I highly recommend it because not only does it provide an instant cooling sensation, it helps to calm any redness that may have incurred as a result of the session. TIME - It's ridiculously quick! My underarms took roughly 2 minutes and my lower legs, about 10! I was in and out of Satori in 15 minutes. One can definitely schedule their treatment during their break or lunch because it is lightning fast. RESULTS - I am very pleased with my results so far. I have thin and sparse hair so I only need to get laser for my underarms and lower legs. I only have to shave every 2-3 weeks; there's very little hair and with only a few stragglers along the way. Granted, everyone's hormones are different and their results may vary based on how their bodies are built but overall, I'm glad there's one less thing for me to worry about. I've completely blanked on my first technician's name but my second one's name was Irina. I'd like to give them both a shoutout and thank them for their professionalism and kindness. I'm a long time customer of Satori (I started going here when they were located at the Pennsylvania Hotel on 34th st.) & this is my first experience at this location- I usually go to the 42nd st location. Much like the other review I also found areas where the tech did NOT treat despite me asking her - which she said she did. I called back to discuss this and was told to come in so they can treat the area. I will provide an update review once this is done next week. Despite this issue, the location is new, clean and well laid out. The tech's should spend more time ensuring they treats the entire area instead of rushing through it. Updated review- Satori kept there word and treated the area the technician missed previously. The new Tech Nicole & Manager Michelle did a great job and Satori clearly appreciates there customers. DANGEROUS PRACTICES. Satori used a laser that caused permanent damage to my legs. After speaking with my dermatologist, she confirmed the damage. After telling Satori, they seemed completely unfazed, as if this happens all the time. The refused to even refund the package they sold me. I hope they have medical malpractice insurance, because they are going to need it. UPDATE: After my legs were damaged due to Satori's misuse of the laser, my dermatologist told me that I could not get laser hair removal on my legs or I would risk further damage. Despite this, Satori refused to refund the sessions I NEVER used -- and could not use, according to my dermatologist. Only after I wrote this review, Michelle, the manager, reached out to me about the "misunderstanding". Rest assured, there is no misunderstanding; Satori Laser used unsafe practices, permanently damaged my skin as a result, and only cared about it after I wrote a bad review. I gave Michelle and Satori the opportunity to do the right thing at first, she refused, and is now upset only after I made her bad behavior public.
