So I went there yesterday and I bought some Hooja and when I got home I realized that one of the bags looked like it was chewed on like by a mouse or something. I couldn't tell what it was and there was a few that fell in the bag so I took it back today and the punjabi guy behind the counter acted like a damn FBI agent trying to prove that it didn't happen at the store and he was willing to go back and roll back the cameras to see if it was ripped before I bought it. I'm in the store all the time because it's convenient right up the street from my house. So he calls the owner and he's talking to her is telling her to roll the cameras and I was like I can't sit here and wait I gotta go can't you just do it even exchange. He said no we cannot you have to wait. So I told him get the owner on the phone and I told her what happened. She started telling me how they have pest control come out there all the time and I said I'm not concerned about that I just wanna exchange the Puja and leave. And she finally breathed in and said all right fine go ahead. You run a story you can send the bhuja back I'm a consumer. The situation was not that serious but they made it into a big deal. I do like the store and I go there a lot but the attitude of the guy behind the counter just had to go. He's very disrespectful. He never says hi never smiles and he's always talking to someone on the damn phone. No professionalism or common courtesy at all. He needs to realize in this country if you want people to be returning customers you have to be polite. He was actually gonna roll back the cameras to see if the punctures existed before I bought it. Another man was in there and he told me in the parking lot these guys are too much. He said sorry you had to go through that. Fiji + Indian Supermarket, smell of fresh lit incense near the produce section when you walk in and then head to the freezer section for lamb bangers and puri water right next to it. Love the cool mix of Islander and Indian stuff and it's definitely biased more toward Indian/Paki goods like the other Fiji/Indian places around here. Came with my brother and son while exploring Hayward a couple weekends ago. I couldn't get the "main" door on the side to open but the one in the back of the building was fine. It's one of the few places that carry Timtams and if you've never had these Aussie snacks you are in for a sweet and crunchy surprise. Picked up some instant Tomato Noodles, the Indian artificial Tomato flavor on chips is something I love, it's more like a tomato based seasoning and less of a pure tomato taste. 4 stars for sure for the very cool lady working here, I was trying to find a Soan Papdi that had a less harsh ginger/cardamom flavor and I told her I forgot the name of the one I had but it was a blue box. She knew exactly what I was talking about and helped pull a "rare" Pakistan made Soan that had a less strong cardamom taste. Still prefer the Indian one as the individual cups keep it fresher and its more light and airy. read more

Overpriced I always go to shop here to support them but they are too much. I just bought a few thing they charge me $60 it's not worth I think it's worth it to go Fremont. They have good price everything cheaper over here is too much. You guys will lose all your customer work on your prices. This was my last time I came shop with you guys. for little bit okra. They charge me $12 and it was not Indian okra but they charge me for Indian okra. Let me begin with saying this is a great place to shop if you cannot find turmeric or curry at Safeway. This store needs to do a serious deep clean inside and out. Got some flour and paneer from this place. The flour had worms and paneer had mould in it. Seems like a bunch of stuff these guys carry is out of date but they still sell it rather than taking it off shelves. Would not recommend this place to anyone! read more

Overpriced Fijian supermarket. Went in to get fried peas and when we tasted it, it was stale and flavorless. Told the worker and he brushes it off like it's our fault for getting the wrong kind of fried peas and should've got a specific kind. Excuse me? How are we supposed to know. We are paying money and expect good quality items. Not selling us stale, old items which probably was sitting there for months.. Didn't even offer a refund because the bag was opened. This probably the most over rated Fiji Indian store. Overpriced than most Fiji n India stores. Service not bad but. Did my Diwali shopping here yesterday for the first time and was little overpriced. But than I also bought a duck to cook today for $36 And supposedly it was cleaned and the hair was toasted. Also missing the liver, heart n internals that normal Fiji people eat. This is my favorite bay area grocery store to buy my Fiji goods like Taro leaves/Fiji snacks to New Zealand mutton. I live in Contra Costa County, work in SF and have all my family in the Peninsula. So I pretty much drive all throughout bay area for anything and everything. Out of all the island markets, this is my all time favorite; clean, organized, friendly workers, price is way competitive than the peninsula and the owner is responsive on social media via IG message whenever I have questions or to confirm if they have an item.im stock before I drivw to the store.. Whenever my mom can't find specific veggies at all the other markets, I will find it here for her. I highly recommend this market to all my family and friends! read more

The store is clean and always in stock. The staff is approachable and helpful when your looking for specific items. The only con is that some of their items are pricey but then again it's not a Walmart. They have everything you need if you are looking for Indian groceries at a very reasonable price. Their NZ lamb chops is the best with almost all fat removed and they sell the best kava in bay area. The store is very clean, well sanitized and well organized. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. If you ever have problems with any items, they will return it as long as it is a valid reason. We went there today and had an amazing experience. The 2 guys and the young lady at the register were very friendly and extremely helpful. Anytime I asked for help, the young lady would run and show us what we were looking for. The store was clean and smelled nice. The meat guy was very helpful and had our duck cut very quick. These are the peoples. I cook a lot of West African and West Indian food and that's how I discovered this store. They also have great veggies that aren't marked up ridiculously. Once you go in and start asking questions you become friends with the folks who run the store and they are really nice. I am customer of Saudagar cash and Carry from last six years. Before they returned if the item was expired or taste bad, but now they are not accepting their own expired items. I had always bought groceries around $80-$100 but now I don't want to spend even a penny. The man on the counter was very rude and refused to return the expired item. I have been going to this store since it opened up. They have a lot of varieties to choose from. They have things from Fiji and India. Their prices are reasonable and they have fresh produce also.
