The butchers were the same as 11 months ago but more approachable and friendly and willing to work with the customers. One of my favorite Afghan stores. I highly recommend coming here for any and all of your grocery store needs. This store is organized and offers a great variety of items. There is a wide selection of ethnic goods, including an in-house bakery where delicious Afghan bread is made. These are packed and ready to go. The bread is the best and a must try! There is plenty of Halal meat available both fresh or frozen like hot dogs, kabobs and chicken patties. All good quality and not overpriced compared to other Afghan Stores. They also sell some cool miscellaneous things. The people who work here are very nice and welcoming. Since moving to Hayward this is now my go-to place. I would definitely suggest that you shop here and support this business. read more

Today was last day coming to this store and I have the worse experience ever. Obviously we all pay for what we buy and no one ask nothing for free. All most all employees are nice and very friendly but there is only one rude employee whom ruined my day. This place is so unsanitary! The butcher in the back is so dirty. They barley change their gloves or sometimes take out meat with ripped gloves. I had to tell a worker to change his gloves and he got upset for some reason. I'm not sure how they're still open. read more

This review is for the very disrespectful butchers, the grumpy guys. I used to come to this place for many years until the I decided that it will be my last day to the store. I did let store manager know this and I hope he is reading the seriousness of the issue he has at his store. Here's what happened: 1. The guys couldn't be more rude and disrespectful. After asking a question about a meat product, he used the exact words- your business isn't welcome here. I'm not your slave. I was shocked! I was like I just asked a question. 2. The guys aren't keeping any hygiene. I noticed this after looking at their work space a bit more closely. 3. They made inappropriate sexual comments about a female customer which I brought to their attention. It's either because they own this business, or are irreplaceable. Otherwise after reading all this reviews the owner shouldn't have a second thought in replacing them. If the owner is reading this, please let us once you replace these grumpy guys or train them properly on how to treat customers and not be sexists. It's pretty much laid out like your NYC bodegas: small grocery section, fresh meat section in the back, and random Afghan (and American) foodstuffs. I had been searching for this green sauce that I get w/bolani and found something fairly comparable to it, with the help of the kind cashier. It's in a small plaza, but basically has anything you would need to make a good Afghan-esque meal. Also accepts credit cards. read more

For the last few years, the butcher (short male with a beard), has been increasingly rude and aggressive towards my mom. She prefers smaller chickens so she always ask for a small chicken, if they have them. On the last few trips, the butcher has ignored her requests and purposely ignores her when she's next in line. On the latest trip, he told my mom to go somewhere else to buy her meat, and that he hates Indians. He also told her to never come again and called her a bench*d (which is a very offensive swear word in Hindi). Another customer chimed in that he also hates Hindus / Indians. It was a scary experience for her to be ganged up upon in a small shop by an employee and a customer. On her way out, a female customer said the butcher is "always just like that." We will never shop here again, as we do not want to support a small family business that encourages rude, racist, sexist and discriminatory behavior against any customers. read more
