My favorite small-town cafe! The service is amazingly fast with only 1-2 servers keeping all of the tables happy. The food is delicious- my favorites include the omelettes (add jalepeno for that extra flavor!), the biscuits which are huge and fluffy, the Brunswick stew which beats out my favorite BBQ restaurant hands down and the cheeseburgers! The staff is friendly and always seem to work together like a well-oiled machine. read more

This was an awesome find on our trip to Helen, Ga. We stopped in for a late breakfast, which is served all day. The food was delicious! I had the western omelette, grits, and biscuit. If you are visiting the Helen area, heading north towards Helen, take a right at the Indian Mound and you'll find this hidden gem on the left towards Clarkesville. You have to have the handscooped shakes...not huge but delicious. I got 2 of them! Great menu for kids, popular with the locals for lunch.....everything is value priced compared to most everything else in the area. My kids loved it.....good menu, everything fresh....not the healthiest but if you're on vacation...who cares! Enjoy the cheesy fries!! read more

We travelled over an hour to try this restaurant, but the experience was not good at all. We went for breakfast, but at 1pm, as they serve breakfast all day. I had eggs Benedict and it bad in several ways: first, there was egg shells in one of my eggs. That in itself is enough to ruin a meal. Second, the biscuits were hard on the bottom, very hard, either over-cooked or stale. And, third, the corn beef hash was burnt and crunchy. Not too many ways to screw up a breakfast, but they did it. On the plus side, my wife's two eggs, sausage and grits were good. Overall, we won't be back. read more

this is one of my favorite restaurants, however, we ate there this afternoon and my philly cheesesteak was very dry and not good. The cooks were not the one I'm used to. I asked Kerri the waitress if they usually put something like au jue on the sandwich and she said no, that was French dip, which is not on their menu. This was a refreshing change from the typical tourist trap cafe. Most of them over promise and under deliver. This was just the opposite. The pancakes tasted like they were made from scratch, the omelets large and fluffy, the eggs cooked just right, the grits perfect and the price right. We were 4 people eating all this for less than 40.00. What is there to gripe about? We got there late and sat right down but it might have been pretty crowded if we had gotten there earlier. read more

My family loves this place we have had breakfast, lunch and dinner here. and everything is always great. Be warned never order the pancakes unless you are starving you get 2 pancakes the size of a dinner plate. They also have corned beef hash and homemade gravy and all the other breakfast items. For lunch an dinner they have burgers , fish and chips, hot dogs, steak and much more. One of my favorites is the hot dogs with bbq pulled pork on them they are delicious. read more

They are nice people. The food is great and service is great. Seems to be maybe (?) a husband and wife team. They work well together. Several years ago they had a waitress that was like school in July...NO CLASS she spoke of things in front of my younger boys that was not appropriate for the dinner table, for strangers, for kids. Haven't seen her around of late which is a good thing for their business. The food is really good and the wait is never long. Best to bring cash their credit card machine give fits. read more
