Great new place in town! We appreciated Chris's hospitality and knowledge on the wines of Colorado's palisades.

We stopped to just buy some wine to take home to our house sitter for taking care of our house while we have been out of town for four months. My husband did the tasting and I stayed in the car to limit our exposure. He bought a few bottles and I have already drank one. It is good wine. I can't wait to return post Covid and "experience" the place.

I called and spoke to the owner Joe who was friendly and helpful in directing me email his wife and co-owner Shamai. Shamai was quick to respond and excited to help make a reservation for my dad's 70th birthday. Not only did we make the reservation but we added (2) charcuterie plates. When the day came they have a table and chairs set up for us. It was perfect! We were the only ones in there for a little while before a few other couples came in. It felt like we had a private tasting. We had a wonderful time tasting all their wines, asking questions about their process, etc. Joe and Shamai really have something special here and I would definitely recommend visiting!

It is light effervescent, and has a beautiful fruit that underlines the wine. It is made from wrestling, Viognier, a little bit of Chardonnay. Rose Syrah less than 10% Vanier, cold pressing, light hues. The fruit in the pepper beautifully confront the taster with nuances of the Syrah. This actually also goes well with chicken tikka masala, but could be served with beef. Quite versatile. Any type of harshness that would be in red fruit is not at all available. Sauvignon Blanc Quite aromatic florals of Honey Dew Melons, peach, apricot you and a tiny bit of grapefruit... citruses on the palate coming through the acids and through aerating the wine within your palate, you begin to pick up melons. A very approachable, Sauvignon Blanc, that you can drink today pleasurably or put it down, and those acids and fruits are going to integrate beautifully. The cab franc 2020 is over the top excellent in the nose and I haven't even tasted it yet. It picks up beautiful, black fruit and a little bit of alcohol, because the wine is young. On the palate comes across a bigger wine has a touch of black fruit, cigar, and you could put down in your wine cellar for quite a few years. 2021 Mendocino and essentially it was Zinfandel. Red blend of beautiful nose of candied acidity and black fruit and pepper. this is another one that can be put down. Make sure you go there if you were ever in Gunnison.

We found Yellow Car thanks to the Harvest Host a program, which businesses welcomes RVers to stay overnight and check out their businesse. It's a better alternative to the Walmart parking lot. Living close to Fredericksburg, TX, the second most visited wine region in the US, we know wine but this place is entirely different. Don't expect a dry wine here! Upon arrival, we were greeted with a tasty wine slushy. We then moved on to a tasting, each of us choosing five pours (a lot of wine!), and we were definitely feeling the effects! While these wines aren't my usual style, we did find a couple of standouts: the Blueberry Hill and the Red Velvet, both delicious enough to take home. The owner Jim and his business partner, Susan, were very accommodating, making us feel right at home. We loved relaxing on the comfy sofa with Cabby, the cat, while sipping on these unique and sweet wines. It's a cozy, divey spot that's a lot of fun. We did try the nachos and zucchini sticks, which were okay, but if you're hungry, I'd recommend holding out for Wild Edge Brewery Collective for your meal. It's worth noting that Yellow Car doesn't engage with social media or reviews, which is a bit of a shame because they don't "mess with that stuff". Pointing out how nice their reviews were. Great Harvest Host destination. There were three RV's that overnighted all together. Yellow Cab gets a total of five stars in part due to the great overnight spot.

We each did a flight of five from what was available. I had the "My Morning Coffee, a "semi-sweet" from the selections of meads. It really did not have any sweetness at all and was quite dry. I tried the Choke Cherry Wine, Feel Better Berry, Baco Noir and Cabernet. Choke Cherry was tart without sweet. Feel Better Berry was cloying. Baco Noir was dry as was the Cabernet, which had a slightly astringent undertone. The ambiance is much more casual than a typical winery tasting room. Flights are served in plastic cups written on in sharpie. We were regaled with stories of the tasting room cat bringing its various conquests back into the building for the owner to find. I don't believe I would return for the products.
