    Brown ale and marzen
    Taylor L.

A really nice venue with a rooftop bar looking out at the surrounding mountains. Not a huge selection of beers on tap, but everything we tried was good. The Box Canyon Brown ale was worth coming back for. We also tried the flautas (phenomenal) and the elote dip (fell a little short).

Elote dip - a must get

Stopped by for a beer & an order of the elote dip following a friends recommendation after a long day of ice climbing. This place was the cherry on top of an amazing day! Not much seating, so we did wait a little while for a table, but I enjoyed browsing the merchandise. We were given the option to leave & return when they texted us for the table, which I appreciated. Once seated we ordered a few beers, some wings, burgers & elote dip. Everything was excellent but the elote dip stole the show. 100% recommend!

A view of town from the deck

Bottom Line: Beers, burgers and views in a three-story building along Ouray's Main Street. To power up for hiking the Perimeter Trail my husband and stoped in Ouray Brewing. Unfortunately we had to skip on the beers which is a shame because there were at least several that I would have wanted to try. Anyway, we each got a classic burger and fries and we appreciated that they came out quickly and were filling. The fries were nice and crisp on the outside which I really enjoy. Something else that was nice was all of the water filling stations throughout the upstairs deck. Regarding the upstairs deck, the restaurant is three floors and the top floor patio is very popular, at least when the weather is good. We were fortunate to find a sunny spot overlooking the town and San Juan Mountains. I'm not sure if the lower floors have a full waiter service but on the third floor patio you place your drink and food orders at the bar. Beers are poured at the time of ordering and a server will come find you and deliver your food. All of the employees were friendly and service was efficient.

Pretty cool place. We sat in swings at the bar, yes, swings. We both had the imperial stout, which was rich, dark, creamy and complex. We will be back for another beer or 3 and some cute merch. Thanks Ouray Brewing!

Green chili burger, side of fries and elote dip & chips.

My husband and I had a great experience! It was a Sunday, early evening and the place was pretty hoppin'. We put our names in and there were a few parties in front of us. Our table was ready pretty quick as the host asked we we wanted "first available". We shared the green chili burger and the elote dip. The burger was medium rare and tender, with a large green chili and jalapeño aioli and some fries. The elote dip was roasted corn with the classic elote fixins. All was delicious! We tried a blonde beer, red beer, and IPA. All were tasty! Great customer service. You must try!!

Our waiter was friendly. I absolutely loved my order: salmon BLT with house salad. The sandwich had a lovely lemon aioli on it. The house salad was delicious. It had sliced pears and glazed pecans. For drinks we ordered dirty martinis. They were filled to the rim which was nice but could have been colder. The menu looked great. We went with burgers. We ordered the Smokehouse burger medium rare with cheddar, house bbq, crispy onions, bacon plus all the toppings. It was cooked perfectly. It came with a spicy slaw. So delicious. We also ordered the Truffle mushroom burger medium with a mixture of cremini, oyster, shiitake mushrooms plus Swiss cheese and truffle aioli plus all the toppings. It was cooked perfectly medium. It also came with the delicious slaw. The buns were a bit big but at least they were soft and delicious. The dessert. So tasty. Honestly $27 is pricy for a burger but it was very good. We would come back to Smuggler union try other menu items next time we return to Telluride.

So sad to update this review but after our recent experiences I feel it's necessary…read more A couple months ago when the weather was still nice me and my husband decided to sit on the patio. We ordered 2 grilled mother cluckers and bock bock fries (our go to). It was about 4pm and there were only a few people there (we were the only ones outside). After about 40 minutes waiting for our food I decided to go in to check on things. Our order was sitting on the counter. Their response was "sometimes the buzzer doesn't work from the table you're sitting at"..... ummmmm what? We ended up eating the cold chicken (and I mean cold, not luke warm) sandwiches because we were starving but asked them to remake the fries. Fast forward to a few weeks ago it was a Friday and me and a friend ordered some sandwiches and sat in the back half of the brewery . After about 25 minutes my buzzer went off. When I got up to the counter there was an order of fish and chips... they called the wrong buzzer. No biggie. Well another 20 minutes went by and nothing. People around us that ordered after us were getting their food. So I went back up to the counter and there on their service line were our chicken sandwiches. When I asked the employee about my order she went back and checked and came back and said "we just finished them up". I took the sandwiches back to the table and again they were COLD. Not to mention since the coleslaw was sitting on the bun they were completely soggy. Didn't take the sandwiches back because we had a baby with us that needed to go to bed. I'm not sure if it's a buzzer issue or what. But we aren't sure if / when we will be returning to Pomona, sadly.
